General question about setting, what is the tech level for non-metahumans like in 2067? There's a space elevator, fancy healing machines, and mechas. But I'm not sure how many of those result from Algernon intelligence and/or are exclusively available to metahuman organizations. Do brands of shield generator exist from a source other than Nora's workshop?

Also, what does combat gear look like for private non-metahuman security forces? Are autonomous drones, turrets, or powered armor commonplace? How about handheld energy weapons like laser blasters? Or weapons that give a crude simulation of metahuman powers (e.g. certain elemental kinesis)? Or is it still good ol' fashioned guns and explosives?

A Quick Check In, An Omake by ScorpioSting
"Hey, boss, this is Blue Skies."

"Yes, I know that. Why are you calling me?"

"Well, I wanted to touch base real fast. I didn't know if you knew yet. Are you at a computer right now?"

"Yes."

"You have digital copies of all the contracts you use with your power, right?"

"Trust me, I have everything in triplicate."

"Pull up Gwen's cousin's one."

"I do not like the tone you are taking with me. But I assume you have a point."

"Alright, I'll just say it. During our fight, she, well, revealed that she was a she. Fire girl took it horribly. Called it a perversion."

"…ah. I see why you felt this was pertinent information."

"I don't know everything, but I can put 2 and 2 together and get 4. She signed with her deadname, yeah? She said her new name was Opale."

"…you are correct. That is not the name on the contract."

"Well then, there's your answer for why it didn't work."

"…this is both more and less interesting than I had assumed the answer would be."

"I had to figure your things don't work with fake names, and I guess this counts."

"Yes. Still, this is nothing a few token rainbow flags around our offices won't fix. This is very much appreciated, Blue Skies."

"No prob. Can I get a raise for this?"

"No."

"Shame. Thought it was worth a shot. Anyway, I'm in a recovery bay. That girl banged me up bad, I have a-"

The line cuts dead as Faust hangs up.

"-concuss... …no respect, I swear."
I have had bad bosses but now I'm wondering if I had it easy.
Good chapter

It's pretty uneven, related to wealth. The Gini coefficient is WAY out of control in the future, so if you have money you live in the world of tomorrow. No money and is late 20th and early 21st century for you.

Except phones, which are just referred to as "screens" which are even more general handheld computing devices than today. Hologram tech is also commonplace.

I was just thinking that there were diminishing stat returns based on order, and thus, John when we do him will get nothing but if he had gone first he would have gotten +1 Operations or something.

@Bitterman, for the Recruit Sheets, can we give our submissions unique passives if we give them demerits to even things out? For example, a passive where the character's HIT is greatly increased under relatively common conditions, but one of their other stats is very low or in the negatives?

Flashed back, it looks like Third Person might also not have much control, like Abarimon, he's just decided it's everyone else's problem instead of just his own.

Hell, maybe he's like Moon River, but with other minds/bodies instead of the Internet.
Based on wulong talk he treatsife life a gta game. Were any time they lose a body they switch to a other one with heroes as mods.

Minor mechanical questions:

1. Our New Dawn ally call-in ability works twice. Can we call in two heroes at the same time for the same mission? Can we call in the same hero for two separate missions? Or is it just "two separate mission, two separate heroes"?

2. I re-read the "Osayin sponsorship" thingy, and while money is the big one, would it safe to assume that some medical tech would also be a part of it? Like, a base upgrade that makes heroes heal faster between missions, or less-strong versions of Mendicant's symbiotes that don't heal as much but are free/cheaper?

Hmm, you mean stuff like Madeline's Chimeras or Hypernovae mode? Sure, throw it in! No promises it will be used or kept in the same form, but why not?

1. Up to two heroes on one mission per issue. Unless it's a New Dawn mission, in which case you get one New Dawn hero with you plus Wolong on overwatch.

2. RAFO

Oh, dang it. I wanted Gentleman James for Noelle (to convince her to chill out), and Pallisade for Yara (because abductors are coming for her and a defense specialist would be nice). Now I gotta CHOOSE.

Oh so does that mean If we go for The Shroud or 3rd Person ND helps or do those not count as a ND mission?

Most people here seem solid on planning next turn for
1) Break Glass (2 AP)
2) Hero Worship (2 AP)
3) Puella Magi (1 AP)

That totals 5 out of 7 we'll be having next turn. As far as what I'm hearing, people seem the most split on including either Cenotaph, Meet the Rookies, and the other two New Dawn missions in those two remaining AP. I want to hear out what you guys want for next turn in detail.

Total AP: 7
Stats may change thanks to having Opale so idk if these are still our total stats:
Total Available Stats: HIT 27, ESPIONAGE 27, REPUTATION 21, OPERATIONS 20.
Edit: woops wanted to add more hit post sorry.

I'm fine with skipping the New Dawn missions for now, but we absolutely must do Cenotaph and Meet the Rookie.

They pair well together, would be a great way to announce our alliance with New Dawn in light of Black Swan actually beating Scarlet Maturity for all the world to see, clear the air that the MGs aren't ours, and that Powers was responsible for the mass deaths in the restaurant, Printemps death, and the destruction of private property.

Also, Cenotaph would be a great way to close off the tutorial and give Lady Leizi some emotional closure which she sorely needs right now.

Hero Worship (AP 2, HIT 10, ESPIONAGE 6, REPUTATION 10, OPERATIONS 4)
Break Glass in Case of Emergency (AP 2 , ESPIONAGE 8, OPERATIONS 10)
Mahou Shoujo no Justice Unlimited (AP 1, HIT 5, ESPIONAGE 3, OPERATIONS 2)
Total: 5/7 AP
Hit: 15/27
Espionage: 17/27
Reputation: 10/21
Operations:16/20
If we choose those missions this is what we are left with... and we can't surpass the numbers so choose wisely.
Edit:
Cenotaph (AP 1, REPUTATION 3, OPERATIONS 2)
Meet the Rookies (AP 1, REPTATION 4, ESPIONAGE 3. OPERATIONS 1)
Huh.. It fits... we can pick all of these easily...

Edit 2: Cant surpass. Sorry didn't put the T. But yeah no Opales stats of course, but it still works. We can pick all those missions.

Additionally: Some personal actions are locked; like Lady Leizi's looking for info on that Wonderland escapee.

I don't know if that's how that actually works, but I'm pretty sure this doesn't include Opale's stats yet. I checked and totaled it.

As much as it goes against my sense of responsibility of doing one ND mission at a time, I'm fine with this. Can I ask which mission you plan Black Swan to be absent in?

Also we need candidates to boost up since completing MG means a way to get more ambrosia even if it would probably be costly, take time or both.

I'm fine with the Combo of Rookies and Cenotaph. Since for next turn I really just want cenotaph for recruits.

We could delay Hero WOrship for ND missions, but Candidates and Sponsors are best gained early.

MG is probably best it doesnt really have Major rep check and the risk of a mind manipulator is high based on the report of our informants so being cautious and scouting it out for a psychic sounds good to me.

Probably Mahou Shoujo? It has a hit requirement of 5, but I think our current roster can handle it with New Dawn's help.

Break Glass needs BS because she's invulnerable and that's a requirement for that mission. Hero Worship has a high Hit Requirement which we'll want her for, and Cenotaph and Meet the Rookie wouldn't make sense without the fulll team present.

On the other hand, I feel like Mona will be able to Girl Talk and calm Noelle down if we bring her.
I think the MG mission right now is figuring things out and clearing our name agaisnt Noelles group, since the follow up mission is probably taking down the MGs properly and gaining noelles trust enough for her to join.

Could see there being more follow up mission though. Since it looks like the MG line is learning about the Frozen Throne or people who messed around with it.
