So how do I create a character? We always have been. We just don't have a ton of candidates at the moment.

Just...try coming up with something. The only real rules are that higher starting stats result in lower Ambrosia Tolerance, and higher Tolerance requires lower starting stats.
And what is the common layout of one such character?Just...try coming up with something. The only real rules are that higher starting stats result in lower Ambrosia Tolerance, and higher Tolerance requires lower starting stats.
There are a number of Candidate profiles in the Apocypha heading. You could look through those to get a general idea of what's acceptable.
You know, I can't help but feel bad for Ete. Sure, she's a tremendous bitch, but she's also lost...basically everything. She's lost her sister and husband, and her bond with her cousin has been almost definitely irreparably broken. Sure, she definitely contributed to all of them, but still, I feel a bit sorry for her.
Notably she's also addicted via Lethal Anodyne and presumably is on the docket for Scarlet Maturity empowerment options...You know, I can't help but feel bad for Ete. Oh, you're absolutely right. Her current tragedies are a result of her and her husband's unwillingness to listen to other people and make better choices. That's why I only find it a bit sad, instead of very. Maybe if they had made better choices, or just weren't complete assholes, I'd consider it more of a tragedy, but honestly I feel the worst for Opale as a result of this. After all, the only family she has left is in a position where she could be consumed to save Scarlet Maturity's life if someone ever got lucky enough to kill him. Even with all the anger and resentment, that can't be easy for Opale to stomach, even if Ete literally brought it upon herself. She had every opportunity to step down, and she tripled down at every opportunity, even against her own best interests.
There's a certain point where you just have to shrug and go "Oh Well", Ete was far past that point by this point.
You and her both!On a side note, I'm now incredibly glad Opale didn't accept that power boost.
He's collected on a LOT more. The harder got killed, the bigger the subsequent boost....Scarlet started out at 8 feet, and was 12 feet until he killed Pritemps, when he absorbed the power and became 13 feet.
Does that mean, over the course of his active hero career, he's only killed and collected 5 people, Pritemps included?
The possibility exists, depending on how much he grew as a result of his dysmorphic appearance for 2, 3 more (assuming he was 5 or 6 feet tall even after getting the skin and horns) before he actively started working for Powers, but that's still 8 people tops he's collected on.
...I see. We really need to get one of those high-tolerance candidates soon. EXCEED-BEYOND is probably the only way we have of properly killing him in any reasonable time frame. He's collected on a LOT more. The harder got killed, the bigger the subsequent boost.
...oh. so it's not linear growth, it's exponential. He's collected on a LOT more. The harder got killed, the bigger the subsequent boost.
It's also WAY harder for him to die now. Mona's the first to do it since King four years ago. And Scarlet Maturity has been trying....oh. so it's not linear growth, it's exponential.
FUCKIN' WONDERFUL.

I don't suppose there's any chance to convince Stockpile and Global Justice to help us out by killing Scarlet Maturity? Since it looks like they're coming close to finishing their own version of EXCEED-BEYOND.It's also WAY harder for him to die now. Mona's the first to do it since King four years ago. It would probably work again. King could kill him too, as could the R-Train. But he'd just revive as of now. 🤷🏻♂️I mean, it's kind of hard to kill someone harder than "Supermassive black hole impactor at relativistic speeds" That's kind of the peak of what Damage can achieve, so if he's immune to that now, uh, he's kind of Actually Invincible.

Some of the latter, but to use the infinite recharge trick she has to be in Hypernovae Mode first, which she has to spend a scene charging up first.Well, that's something.
Presumably there's a reason why he won't just Keep Attacking too, likely there's some kind of cooldown involved after a revive, or he'd just be attacking us every turn until we die or he's actually immune to that level of force.
Gah though, what a pain. At least Black Swan's managed to make attacks of opportunity on us while we get back on our feet look like suicide--anyone who can 1v1 Scarlet Maturity and win is well out of the league of most metas.
Oh yeah, how's Hypernova Mode work? The implication I got is that it's "Any time Black Swan turns on her full relativistic speed, and starts eating the nuclear fusion caused by her movement faster than it can radiate out, and the combination gives her functionally infinite energy", but presumably there's some reason why she doesn't use this in every encounter? Or is it as simple as just "The amount of people who warrant Hypernova Black Swan can be counted on a single hand, and it would be gross overkill for anyone else because there's no throttling the impact of that down?"
