Not limited to the Marvel comics. Just about all comic books start with body builders and gymnasts as the models for characters, especially the ones with powers. For Jack Kirby, it was an intentional choice. For some others as well. But some comic book artists just draw what is aesthetically pleasing to them. Often, it hypersexualizes the character (see any of the women in nearly any comic book from the 20th century). Mostly it just kind of creates a norm in which everyone is jacked, stacked, and/or racked.

When superheros and supervillains start fighting and leveling the area she runs the other way with the other smart people with survival instincts.
