Just incase anyone missed it

Question. You said we needed more Effiency to get more actions. Would upgrading our Tactical and Strategic Operations Center give us that?

Nope. Some book learning might help though?

Hey, Hey guys, apparently getting our Basic Education Program both helps us unfuck Eli/Liquid AND give us more actions. So can we please drop the Kurdesh Op and do that research this turn?
So, if your interested in more actions and reducing the DC to unfuck Eli's head, Plan: Child Healing is accepting all voters!

[X] Plan Child Healing

what the heck, I got work today and a game to play...so don't expect a omake on my end...unless I get inspired by said game and my antics...

no comment on those poor bastards for what I'm going to be doing soon.

You know, something came to me this morning.

A question about Huey back in GZ was hy would he betray MSF? But... what if he simply had been that dumb? After all, we all know he's only good at science and shit at everything else. Hell, he built Peace Walker with nuclear-launching capabilities as a deterrence weapon for Coldman!

…*raises finger before putting it back down*...holy shit.

So smart in one area but an idiot in other things then?
Did Huey ever particularly looked he would do great at Intrigue?

But if you step back and look at things, the 'whydunnit' was never answered about that mess. Miller said everything was his fault, but Miller is Angry. He wanted to blame someone and he took his anger on someone that did not lose everything like he did. So everything was seen in the worst possible light.

Hell, take the Sa... Whatever complicated name that giant robot was. He wanted to use his own child as test subject? He's insane, right? But take a step back: Because the cockpit was child-sized... No grown man can pilot it. Aka, someone that would have been far more competent with it. Like, say, Skull Face.

Just wanted to tone down the Huey hate, but it IS true we never got the why.

He *still* shoved Strangelove inside the pod and not showing any remorse nor regret. But eh, that's just a footnote.

Also, as for Sahelanthropus, Skull Face is dumb. Just make Sahel bigger like 10-20% and you can fit a (relatively small) adult there.

From my understanding the implication is that Huey is in fact...not as smart as he might claim he is. Remember that he basically stole Peace Walker's/ZEKE's design from what's-his-face in Russia and so on.

So you have this guy who ends up going through with these things and coming up short - which wouldn't be a problem if he didn't start becoming full-on delusional. So now any mistakes he makes are either Working As Intended or Someone Else's Fault. The real issue is that by the time of TPP Huey gets a bad habit of doubling-down on his bad ideas and denying any faults of his own which causes problems for everyone.

Like with the Sahelanthropus piloting; the initial plan was to use another AI Pod, but he was shut down when it was pointed out that it wasn't really practical for the Soviets to build. But Huey is never ever wrong, the small cockpit was clearly planned to house a child pilot the whole time! Obviously! Anyone who objects to that is clearly wrong.

I figure that his initial betrayal was a mix of thinking that the Cipher soldiers wouldn't do anything that bad along with just a bit of greed that he would later deny entirely.

He got it running with a creepy psychic child. Not his fault that Eli showed up with the hate complex to end them all, hijacking the aforementioned creepy psychic child.

Also it's pretty clear by the first time we see the two interact that Skull Face has realized that Huey is not the genius mech engineer he claimed to be.

Or...you could just make a tank with a railcannon and not have to deal with the delusional and insane engineer.

Hell, the main point was that you could turn Sahelanthropus into a nuke by using archea on it's DU armor, except you could just as easily (more easily infact) make armor plates for a tank that do the same thing.

Anyway, the point is that in a game that fucked with perceptions and what you believed, Huey may just be another casualty of that mess of perceptions.

I *think* it was planned to be a deployable vehicle like the captured tanks and APC's you could field. Except they ran out of dev time and just delegated it to the offscreen missions the DD do.

Pretty sure Skull Face want to make Man of Sahel a weapon of terror hence the humanoid design. Also it's cool, not as cool as REX or even RAY, but the sword is pretty good.

what was the point of battle gear again instead of just making a hover tank?

It meant that Huey was still valuable enough to DD to not get tossed into the ocean.

Anyway, the point is that in a game that fucked with perceptions and what you believed, Huey may just be another casualty of that mess of perceptions.

To some extent, maybe, but given the shit we know he did for a fact still paints him in a very bad light. Even if he didn't intend to sell out MSF the rest of his actions are not justifiable through ignorance. I could believe that the child-sized cockpit might have been intentional sabotage if he wasn't so bent on having his own son pilot it that his own mother hid him away for his own safety. And even assuming that Strangelove overreacted, Huey's response was straight-up murder. Not to mention that he facilitated the Parasite Breakout of his own free will.

Perhaps in the MSF days he really was that misguided and sympathetic, but by the time he returns to DD it's pretty clear that he's lost any trace of morality he once held.

no I mean, why give it LEGS? it was basically a hover tank!
Maybe the legs is the levitation part or some kind of stabillizer or just helping it move.
Not to mention that he facilitated the Parasite Breakout of his own free will.
Well, there's a case that he might be trying to find a way to cull the parasite using beta wave. Buuuuuut, he's most likely trying to mutate it then sell it.

Why he trying to mutate something so deadly is beyond reasoning though. No sane man would do that willingly.

If Apocrypha threadmarks are all the omakes so far, we stand at 14 omakes so far. 6 more to go to get another dice. Unless some of them do not count.
