Overall probably as good as you guys were gonna do.

3rd Kurdish action, well.

Have you heard of Zanzibar Land?
.....Mother. FUCKER.

Oh man I'm so sorry we missed that. *Looks at unneeded Ballistic Vest Research* The Dice Gods Mock Us.

Edit: So what will happen to the Kurds now?

So I know of Metal Gear from Shadow Moses all the way to phantom pain. But I know nothing about Zanzibar land except grey fox was involved. Can anyone explain the significance of this to me?

Reminds me of MGS3, when you caused soldiers to panic by shooting wasp nests down near them, and they ended up running off of cliffs and shit.

Or when you baited some dumbass too close to the water and a Crocodile got em.

"Look, I didn't mean to subject those men to a horrific burning demise, it just sort of happened..." - Venom Snake, moments before being declared "History's Most Terrifying Soldier" by his own forces

"Hey, The Fury did it to me when we fought, and I came out just fine!"
Well basically i liked using fire because it killed people quieter than gunshots or C4, and I was a bit too lazy to keep carrying dudes to FOB edges to toss them into the sea :V

Mistakes were made.

Well, it was only just last night that I became a demon, so I guess I'll just farm The White Mamba for that child helo extraction. (Fighting Eli becomes less annoying with the suppressed beanbag shotgun, which has also now become my favorite FOB weapon.)

Thing is, our Blackhawks can already be configured as gunships.
on top of this i would remind everyone what we use the quad engine version of the UTH-66 Blackfoot which is faster then then normal Blackhawks
I know the vote's over, but has the fact the Blackhawk can actually outpace the Apache been mentioned? Something of a private joke among the attack heli community that they have to tell the units they're escorting to slow down.

I found a song that may suit Big Boss in this story to a disturbing degree.

So, What do you think?

Basically, we would have carved out the Kurdish a homeland, taken from lands around the Soviet Union, China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

In canon, it became a heavily fortified state, seizing nuclear weapons when/where ever it could, and then invading nearby countries. It would become one of the worlds only nuclear powers in a time of disarmament and peace.

It was the final site of Big Bosses Outer Heaven, a entire nation of soldiers, before he was defeated by Solid Snake and captured by The Patriots.

Here, in this universe, we would have carved out a state of peaceful coexistence and nuclear disarmament, and it would have become something completely new.

[X] Infantry Company (Asymmetrical)
-[X] Intelligence Operations (CIA)

[X] Hand the Gun Back: "No. There's been enough pain. You'll live with it for the rest of your life, but you won't do it alone."

I want Huey to create things for peace, not only for war, I believe he can do it.

Damnit, we should've trusted in Big Boss and the quality of Diamond Dogs.
Like I said man, the Dice Gods mocked us, we could just as easily have taken casualties in Disarmament 2. Heck, if it wasn't for Quiet, we might have lost an entire squad in trying to disarm Ukraine.

But yeah. Really sad we won't be able to see a new and better version of Zanzibar Land be born with our own hands and our own eyes.

Maybe we can recruit that crazy but hot girl who was an antagonist in 2. The one with the huge braid?

I liked her tank.
As stated before, I want the Isara-Riela-Audrey trio to happen. Audrey and Isara are sure to be at odds with Riela stuck between, but Isara's father and second father will still stick out to Audrey, to say nothing of Isara's own mechanical prowess, and Isara will have to acknowledge Audrey's capabilities as a tank commander. She IS one of the more competent commanders in Gallia after all.

In an ideal world with virtual training, they get to try to blow the shit out of each other in the simulator~

I think I figured out why the idea of a Gate instead of an ISOT pisses me off so much.

We repaired Sahel on the assumption we would have to deal with Marmota and Lord of Dust. On the assumption that we would be leaving this world behind. That was the only reason we were willing to repair the thing. If it's a Gate, we won't have to deal with Marmota or the possibility of Valk attacks on Mother Base.

Oh well, the vests are sure to come in handy in the future, and that likely gets us a step further along the personal protection equipment tree earlier.

also

every single nation will jump at the Gate

it practically will spark the Cold War into WW3 as every fucker will try to hold and invade an entire new world

Working on it :V

Got the MLRS Detachment and MH6 Flight up on the front page, but I'm wondering what to do about the 2 light artillery pieces I've left in Mother Base's gun closet.

Kinda piddly at the moment so I guess I'll just use them as narrative stuff? Since you guys didn't go combined arms I'm feeling iffy about filling it out with another gun or two and adding more people to the roster.

Maybe have them as a base defense attachment?

we could latch them to the next combat unit we recruit.

I mean, you can always non-lethal him with a suppressed dart rifle if you don't like fighting him.

We have shown them the way. Now it is up to them to see how far they can go.

That would actually be a bad usage of them, given our location. We'd be better off with shoulder-fired missiles.

See, awhile back the Germans thought they could take the PzH 2000's turret and stick it on their frigates. The MONARC program. They'd seen the Swedes use the vehicle for coastal defense in 1996 and saw that both their frigate turret with a 76mm gun and the 2k's turret weighed about the same. More firepower and saved money from simplified logistics, right? Well no. The project was ultimately scrapped for a few reasons. The big one we'd still have to deal with is the protection against corrosion, the sheer cost involved with that is the main reason the project burned out. But one of the bigger ones that goes unmentioned in alot of the documents? The massively slower rate of fire of the howitzer. 10 rounds per minute, 20 with a highly advanced autoloader, vs. the 80-upwards of the 76mm it's supposed to be replacing. And for hitting small, fast-moving targets like boats and aircraft? ROF is incredibly important.

So sticking a couple of howitzers on Mother Base is really only a good idea if we somehow get stuck on land.

This is probably a better idea: Augment one of our current units, or build a new unit around them.

Well, due to handwavery I think we can assume 'maintenance' isn't an issue.

ROF vs fast targets though is a thing, but I'd assume we'd use it to help against bigger boats until we upgraded our defenses again. Then again we might be stuck on land, in which case it'll be helpful. Basically I think it's a 'T1 defense, better than having nothing' thing.

I don't think latching them to our next combat unit makes sense (b/c a lot of them probably wouldn't do well lugging them along with them). Maybe we can hitch em with one of our armor squads? The MBT's could maybe use them as support. (Of course that's uh turn 7)

I was thinking mechanized infantry unit would be good pick.

I know it's kinda metal gear important. Just not really knowing how much.

Edit: Just saw above when I turned the page. Nvm.

Eeeeh. I've never bought into the 'something shitty is better than nothing' logic. And the only reason the PzH got considered was that it had the range to be a proper naval gun, something older and smaller-caliber pieces just won't have. Naval defense just isn't something we have outside gunships.

I think Silver's got the better idea. Sticking towed pieces in a unit that's built around mobility is a known way to slow them the hell down.

He means taking the concept of Kurdistan and not only having it existing, but actively mugged all its neighbors in ways not seen since the Six Day War.
