Khaine has proven himself to be weak. Not only was he not neccesary for Fanriel to save Dorial, he also directly tried to stop her and failed. Clearly this is not a deity worthy of our pursuit.

We should discard his gifts and seek the attention of a less impotent god.

[X] Hurl it into the sea.

Like Stromfels.
If you want to spite Khaine there is no better option than to turn it over to Vault's priest. Khaine and Mathlann have no beef. Vault hates Khaine.

EDIT - Besides, Mathlann is a god of mercurial whim. I don't trust that shield not to wash up somewhere interesting if we throw it into the sea.

Treemen are greater daemon level forest spirits. That would probably be a T5 level spell and would require a very formidable tree indeed if it is even possible for us to replicate forest spirits like that.
Treemen are not greater daemon level, barring perhaps the most ancient ones.

Regular treemen are just monsters. Strong and tough monsters, but also very, very slow.

I don't think throwing it into the sea will really help us. From what we've seen the shield might have actually teleported to enter our quarters. It would be even worse if some other Chaos champion after the Jarl happens to find it instead.

Also I've been thinking. Given that Dorial is going to have a recovery period measured in months, If we do well enough with a bard action hyping up Dorial's victory against the Jarl to make a considerable part of Erengard to think that he's the best great sword wielder in the city, which he almost certainly is, we might be able to give Dorial something to do during the period in which he's well enough to not be confined to a bed but not still well enough to go on combat missions by having him teach. The Dazhites might not pay as much as they would have for all of the swordmasters teaching them, but might be willing to still shill out a pretty penny for instructions from the best of them while Fanriel and the other swordmasters take a more active combat mission.

Maybe the prince if he wants an instructor for himself or a son of his and wants to spring for the very best instructor possible.

If we go the bard route, should really memorialize the entire raid, not just Dorial. Among other things, I'd like the bravery of the White Wolves to be remembered, and the fact that we prevented the summoning is good PR for us.

I've been thinking about that actually. Once Dorial has enough strength to teach of course.

The thing is, his methods are designed for the Asur... he may teach a single slash for 10 years and once it is performed perfectly, he will move on to the next one. I don't know, if he shall have the patience to babysit human students, giving them a crash course in sword fighting, that he wouldn't even think of doing on his worst day.

The bards are ultimately meant to be PR for the Lightfangs to get our renown up. In that regard the duel is a single, very clear, event, that also shows that as elven swordmasters of Hoeth, our swordmasters can achieve clearly superhuman feats and are thus worth the hype.

Our other sword masters will surely have had their own feats, but killing in a lengthy battle say, a score of marauders, is still a lot more plausible for a human soldier to manage to do then to defeat a powerful Chaos champion in single combat due to the powerful blessings from the Chaos Gods that the champion will have.

Also! It is something that the entirety of the army brought by Razin saw happening. If someone casts doubt on Dorial's victory against the Jarl then it is very plausible that there will be someone available nearby who took part in the raid to tell the truth of what happened, whereas far fewer people will have seen what our other swordmasters did.

For example we took out the Jarl's second in command, but frankly I don't have much expectation that the Coinshields that were with us at the time will sing our praises of what we managed if someone asks them what happened there.

In a real sense Dorial's victory against the Jarl was simultaneously both the Lightfangs' most impressive as well as most visible accomplishment during the raid. As a duel of single combat it is also something that would be very difficult for someone to try to attribute to any of the other mercenary outfits.

Or he might be a genius teacher, having impeccable skills in how to transfer his own skills to others. Who can say? What we do know is that he knows more about how to swing a great sword then just about anybody in Erengard, and that alone will probably be enough to attract students if other people will come to view him as such.

Did she leave because she wanted to join the White Tower?
No, the traditional tour of duty for an elf is fifty years (give or take a little depending on practical realities, if your regiment is engaged in an active warfront obviously you're not going to leave in the middle of it).

Though there was definitely an element of "gotta get my obligations as a noble out of the way before I can start doing the stuff that I actually want to do with my life".

Is there a more elite unit for those of a knightly disposition but aren't Caledorian? Or would such an individual just stay in the Silver Helms?

Typically those who come to enjoy knighthood simply stay as Silver Helms, but there exist various more elite and exclusive knightly organizations among the Ten Kingdoms, such as the Knights of Tor Gaval.

It has been stated before that Fanriel could, in theory, produce a heir and send them back to Ulthuan to continue the noble line. The results of that are obvious.

But what happens if she has a kid and doesn't send them back? I imagine their would be no small amount of concern about a child of The Blood who hasn't been "processed" running around outside of Ulthuan's legal jurisdiction.

They would probably send some of their men to go look for the child of Fanriel and bring them back to Ulthuan.

If they're in the Empire or any human nations, it would be easy to find as Elves stand out from the humans.

All members of the Blood are presented with summons to appear before the Phoenix King when they turn sixteen years old.

Should the descendant of Aenarion turn down such an invitation, he will find a company of these fine gentlemen on their doorstep, and they are no longer asking:

Have they ever attempted to serve summons in Laurelorn?
