I'm still very keen on playing as a Gun Elf and making more Fireclaws, so.

I'm inclined to be a one-woman wrecking machine and go all-in on personal flying mount, artifacts and traits.

[] Plan Beatstick
-[] Griffon
--[] Bright

I really want an awesome mount, and a Griffon fits the bill perfectly. Naming it Bright in honor of Best Bird Demigryph of the same name from Gaius Marius' Warhammer Dynasty on SB :D

-[] Item
--[] Silverine Plate

We have an awesome weapon and mount, now i want awesome armor to accompany them.

-[] Trait
--[] Knight of Tor Gaval

And this perk to further boost our fighting skill riding said Griffon.
I have no issue with that. But there's room for one more.

I propose either Student of the Anvil to outfit our buddy with stuff of his own, or Student of the Spear because, by dint of being an elf on a flying monster casting magic, monsters are likely to be sent at us to counter. I imagine many Chimerae and Manticores and even Chaos Dragons will be thrown at us, and if we ever have to face Druuchi with their menageries...

My bad.

@Blackout If we do go all-in on mount, artefacts and traits and do not start with any soldiers, can we recruit troops after game-start, or will you impose a mechanical or narrative restriction against recruitment of new troops?

You can recruit after game start, but you'll have to earn money and then spend time to find, convince and pay said soldiers to join you.

More than likely, we won't be able to get any more Elven troops due to our status as an exile, and Elven troops are supposed to be of real high quality so if we want them, now is the time.

While I'm partial to the Phoenix Pinion, I'll vote for your plan if we get Mistwalkers instead of Swordmasters. I just think we could benefit from a ranged component and they are the most elite option available it seems. Also remember to name the Pegasus we're getting.

It's more efficient to go for Tor Gavel, though. One trait point gives you both bonus to Airborne Prowess and a mount, whereas you have to spend two trait points to get a Eagle (admittedly a stronger mount) without Tor Gavel's bonus to Airborne Prowess.

@Blackout

Would it be possible for some manner of tier list for stats, or at least some like Prowess and Magic, be possible later?
Yeah, I'll get on that at some point.

@Blackout
Do the pre-recruited soldiers come with officers/ support elements?
If no maybe that would an option?
Sorry if that's awkwardly worded.
They come with enough officers and support to function as described.

I believe they are talking about the combination of Tor Gaval and Eagle costing two points, since Tor Gaval already gives us a free pegasus
Great Eagles are significantly stronger than Pegasi, however. Hence why you get five of them for one Great Eagle.

[] Plan White-Feather Pistoliers
-[] 5 Pegasus Knights (x2)
-[] Pegasus (Ardent)
-[] Fireclaw of Vaul
-[] Knight of Tor Gaval

I just think it'd be really cool to be a dashing pegasus-riding airborne pistolier. 10 Pegasus Knights is a pretty sizable force, especially with a spellcaster at the head, but it's compact and mobile enough that we won't get bogged down excessively by logistics. Ideally we'll be able to outfit our knights with their own pistols, too.

Frankly, if you are doing Fireclaw, you want to kite. I might exchange Pinion for Tor Gaval + Wailing Fen.
nah Pinion allow us too
it confers miraculous healing power upon the wielder, able to close wounds in only a matter of moments and even restore limbs given enough time. However, this requires a period of attunement to the artefact, lessening its utility as a tool for healing others.

Should the wielder be slain, they and the amulet will explode in a storm of golden flame that scours their killer from existence, before falling away to reveal them untouched regardless of how many pieces they were hacked into, as the last of the pinion's power is permanently consumed.

that shit is wild and will turn us into a absolute one woman wrecking machine oh no sword slice across my face no prob healed it will be unparrled in allow us to take more damage and as a result deal damage. SInce we have the blood of anerion within us I except for us to have to deal with a lot of bad shit that may kill us therefore having a second chance at life is invaluable too

though if something like that won I be okay with that too

What do people think of this?

[] Plan Fanriel the Chaos Slayer
[] Griffon
-[] Specify name (I'll get round to it)
[] Knight of Tor Gaval
[] Student of the Spear
AND EITHER
[] Warrior of the Wailing Fen
OR
[] Fireclaw of Vaul
(not possible with griffon)
OR
[] Pinion of the Gleaming Phoenix

We get the big badass mount, flying bonus is needed since we're on a big flying monster, monster bonus is needed since we'll be up in the sky where the other monsters roam.

With regards to Wailing Fen vs Fireclaw vs Pinion: it comes down to spell choices.
Wailing Fen gives us counterspelling bonus which is great that we're a giant target up in the sky but we can take spells that gives us counterspell bonuses.
Fireclaw gives us a range option but we're on a big flying monster and have a bunch of spells so that could also handily cover us for ranged firepower/the ability to close distance with the enemy very fast. (not possible with griffon)
Pinion is great because free auto healing is great but we get healing spells too.

Guys, whatever we do, we need to recruit some kind of troops to come with. If nothing else, it'll help convince people to hire and be hired by us.

If you want more than 1 Fireclaw, you'd need the Anvil trait at minimum.

  • Flight - You can fly by sprouting wings, ascending on a pillar of magical light, or some other method depending on your lore.
Considering the wording of Knight of Tor Gaval we'd have some, interesting options even when off our mount, or literally alongside it.

Fireclaw is 2 points, not one. You can't afford it with a Griffon and two traits already.
