If you're thinking of regular pistols, I doubt they would like that since Elves notoriously disdain blackpowder weapons for being unreliable, and we're talking about noble Pegasus Knights.

They're also mercenary Pegasus Knights in the service of a pistol-wielding Loremaster of Hoeth, so I think they'll probably be more open to the idea than most. Especially if we can get some high-quality or magical pistols from the dwarfs.

I'm still very keen on playing as a Gun Elf and making more Fireclaws, so.

You have my vote here especially if there's no chance of one of the solo plans winning (my first preference), because the prospect of a small elite company eventually equipped with Fireclaws appeals to me so much.

I just think it'd be really cool to be a dashing pegasus-riding airborne pistolier. 10 Pegasus Knights is a pretty sizable force, especially with a spellcaster at the head, but it's compact and mobile enough that we won't get bogged down excessively by logistics. Ideally we'll be able to outfit our knights with their own pistols, too.

This is an interesting plan, because it basically means our Exile arrived with her loyal squadron of Pegasus Knights. If they have range options, basically this is Ace Combat Asur Edition. But it's possible to swap out 5 Pegasus Knights for Student of the Anvil, if you want them to eventually wield "pistols" acceptable to the Asur.

Just how rare is it to find Pegasus and Great Eagle Knights in the Old World? If they're so rare that one Great Eagle Knight is equal in points as any of the Artifacts or Traits, then it may be best to just choose these guys from the start because we aren't getting any until late-late game.
Not entirely unheard of, but the knights in question are rare and elite Bretonnian and Wood Elf units.

It would take a lot of convincing or extenuating circumstances for an elf to adopt a black powder weapon.

also we can def be able to talk to it we are wizard we can just use that animal talking spell to also agin they are allies and freinds of the asur since forever they are a comrade and someone we could talk to
You can talk to them but they're not great conversationalists.

nowhere any where near the extent the feather will or anywhere the same extent in combat also @Blackout is this true
"Ithlmar Chain is vastly inferior to the plate"?
Depends on your definition of vastly, but significantly inferior, yes.

Ithilmar is not ultra-hard, that's Gromril. Ithilmar's thing is being somewhat stronger than steel while being far lighter, allowing you to make heavy armour that induces no movement penalties on the user.

[ ] One Woman Against The World
- [] Fireclaw of Vaul
- [] Silverine Plate
- [] Knight of Tor Gaval
-- [ ] Pegasus's Name - Defiance

This combination gives us:
- Ranged capability (Fireclaw), to give us additional options in conjunction with our Lightfang (melee range);
- Defence, strength and toughness (Silverine Plate);
- Strategic and tactical flight (Free Pegasus provided by Knight of Tor Gaval);
- Bonus Prowess and Martial in the air, which we can take advantage of with our free Pegasus (Knight of Tor Gaval);
- A rechargeable shield and deflection against fatal blows (Silverine Plate);
- A way to escape from anything that is powerful and threatening enough to trigger our Silverine Plate's ultimate defence and give us time to let it recharge (Free Pegasus provided by Knight of Tor Gaval).

[]Plan Grow from here
-[] 25 Spearmen/25 Archers
-[] 10 Swordmasters of Hoeth
-[] Commander of the Ind Campaigns
-[] Student of the Anvil
-[] Warrior of the Wailing Fen

Revised the plan, starting out with a small core group of elves, and some more bonuses, the goal of this plan is to get our recruitment up and equip our elves with magical equipment as quickly as possible.

[]Plan Future Elites
-[] 25 Spearmen/25 Archers
-[] 10 Swordmasters of Hoeth
-[] Commander of the Ind Campaigns
-[] Student of the Anvil
-[] Master Lecturer of the White Tower

This plan leans even more into buffing/training our soldiers into the stratosphere, with Anvil to improve their equipment and lecturer to improve their combat skills, well hopefully be able to craft a truly elite mercenary outfit.

It doesn't match the way we've built our MC, but I really like the idea of going all in on myst weavers and rangers. Then becoming known as the mercenaries that sneak to the rear of an enemy formation, put three volleys of devastatingly accurate arrows into their ranks, and then vanish.

I don't have a better plan, but I do have a concern with going all in on traits/artefacts/mount.
Are we just setting ourselves up to be the "budget Asarnil"?

If it wasn't inferior the plate likely wouldn't be a full blown artifact. But I do agree I think the Pinion is better since we could probably heal mid fight with it and at least with it we have an extra life. But with that said I do like the Fire and Mist plan b/c the idea of an Elf with a gun and forging more is just great to me.

I'd like Mystweavers and Rangers, too. I like the idea of having scouts and having other people around.

Yeah, but I personally would like to have someone Fanriel could talk to. Personally I'm leaning towards Mistwalkers since they seem to be the most flexible of the lot.

Fair point. Hmmm.

[] Plan From The Mists
-[] 20 Mistwalkers of Yvresse
-[] Commander of the Ind Campaigns
-[] Student of the Mist
-[] Student of the Shadow
-[] Warrior of the Wailing Fen

This makes our unit (and us) extremely experienced elite scouts, which could be very fun. Dropping Warrior of the Wailing Fen for more Mistwalkers would also work.

I see nothing about mental instability in its description.

It's the 'and darkness' bit. Aenarion gradually went completely off the rails and became a monster...the downside of his legacy seems pretty inevitably to, at least in part, be the risk of something similar occurring.

Okay never mind forget my plan completely then

I like your plan, but I would probably reduce the Knights to five and grab Student of the Anvil, if you still want the idea of Pegasus Rider Fireclaw "pistollers", because that's probably the most likely way to eventually work your way to your concept. Five also makes this a very close-knit party, a five Asur band of sisters.

While I'm still going to vote for Gun Elf, I do think there is a distinct appeal for being a one-woman killing machine backed up ten more killing machines, so I made another plan too.

[ ] Plan: The Winged Blade
[ ] 10 Swordmasters of Hoeth (1 Point)
[ ] 5 Pegasus Knights (1 Point]
-[ ] If mounted on Pegasus, specify name: Starstrider
[ ] Pinion of the Gleaming Phoenix (2 Points)
[ ] Knight of Tor Gaval (1 Point)

Just pointing out for the armor discussion, it's not like the Silverine Plate is just some plate armor, it's a full-on artifact.

(Underlining is mine)
This ancient set of Ithilmar plate armour is said to have been forged at the Anvil of Vaul at the order of Caledor Dragontamer, to be granted to the ancestors of House Drangleic as part of Aenarion's host, to do battle with the daemons that had trespassed upon the world.

Its potent magics enhance the user's strength and toughness, making them into a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Further, should it be struck by an attack powerful enough to pierce the layered Ithilmar, it will discharge a pulse of force that deflects it back on the attacker. This exhausts the armour's magic for a time, and must recharge from ambient Winds until it can be used again.
If you're after that Amazon Elf vibe, the plate goes some way towards that. And it's another ancient artifact of the house we're leaving with (have to imagine at some point they're going to want those back)

Asarnil doesn't have magic or the ability to not piss people off by opening his mouth or an exceptional ability against Chaos.

[] Plan White-Feather Pistoliers
-[] 5 Pegasus Knights x2
-[] Pegasus (Ardent)
-[] Fireclaw of Vaul
-[] Knight of Tor Gaval

[] Plan White-Feather Pistoliers (Fancy)
-[] 5 Pegasus Knights
-[] Pegasus (Ardent)
-[] Fireclaw of Vaul
-[] Knight of Tor Gaval
-[] Student of the Anvil

The second version of this plan is objectively not as good than the first and I have no real interest in being a craftsperson but it's an option for people who don't want to have to sell our own troops on using icky non-elven weapons.

Upon further reflection, it's not actually that bad, and there's something to be said about dual veneration of Hoeth and Vaul, but 5 Pegasus Knights is just not an impressive air caracole.

It's basically a budget Dragon Armor of Aenarion, or simply put magical power armor.

I think the armor is my favorite Artefact option and I'm definitely here for it if it's paired with having actual troops as well.

As much as Asarnil isn't the same person as our character, I do think being a wanderer with only their mount for company is treading the same thematic ground and that's not as fun for me as breaking new ground would be.

A constant Ward Save would obviously be better on defense, but on the other hand, the DAoA doesn't increase Tyrion's Strength or Toughness. It's 'just' really, really good protection.

Out of curiosity @Blackout, will you be statting out Fanriel WHFB-wise once she's finished? (Not necessarily for use, but just to represent roughly what she would be on tabletop)
