Problem! Madoka likes Homura's hair; it's the reason she takes such good care of it. If we turn Homura and her hair against one another, then sooner or later Madoka is going to be caught in the crossfire, and thus made an exploitable target for Kyubey. This, in turn, will only cause Homura and her hair to reunify for the cause of preventing Madoka from contracting.
Homura's hair likes Madoka's hair. It's a good thing that both Homura and her hair occupy the same body, as do Madoka and her hair, or else there would be some real trouble a'brewing.

While I understand how that could work out, I think you might just be making things up, good sir.
I am fairly certain we have not seen Madoka's Hair express any sort of opinion whatsoever, so while perhaps things could be as you say, I have to ask whether you are not just being a tad too optimistic.
I'm not attempting to dismiss and throw your argument out the window just like that, that would be childish and silly, but I believe we can not make assumptions about Madoka's Hair preferences and then not try to verify them through empirical testing before accepting that such assumptions might be close enough to the realm of reality to rely on.
So I would say, we should find a way to encourage Madoka's Hair to express their own feelings, rather than assume we know what Madoka's Hair feels.

True, I was more basing my assumption on the fact that Madoka's hair didn't offer any protest when Madoka gave her ribbons to Homura, and thus to Homura's hair. I could be way off base however, so maybe I am being just a tad too optimistic.

I sure hope it does not turn out Madoka's hair was the true victim all along.
Madoka and Homura have their love spat going on, Homura's Hair chimes in some times, but Madoka's Hair? Perhaps the only reason we haven't seen it express itself is because it's too shy to do so!
Now that, that would be a tragedy. Poor Madoka's hair just being swept along, not daring to go against the tide. The one eternal time it caught a break and became endless, Homura went and brought Madoka down, with Madoka's Hair's feelings becoming thoughtless collateral damage.

Unless Madoka's hair was really the villain. It's highly improbably, but hear me out-
Madoka's hair subtly plants the idea of giving the ribbons to Homura, and thus to Homura's hair. Homura keeps those ribbons as reminders of Madoka, ultimately being propelled into overthrowing the will of Madokami, supplanting her on the throne of Goddesshood, and becoming the devil. All part of Madoka's hair's plan to return to life, with Madoka, the Law of Cycles, and every other puella magi suffering the consequences for its selfishness.
Do I think that's what really happened? Absolutely not. But it's worth considering.
I like imagining that our posts all exist as thoughts inside Yuma's head, and now Yuma is too distracted by the intense debate over Madoka and Homura's hair to ask Homura about her plans or do anything about the swarm of familiars coming toward them

--[X] If attacked, try to AoE stun and run past them
---[X] If unsuccessful, clean up after Big Sis Kyoko. Keep her safe, and watch her back.
[X] Hold your ground.
---[X] Clean up after Big Sis Kyoko. Keep her safe, and watch her back.
----[X] Ask Kyouko to partially block the hall so you can smash the Familiars easier. Homura can back you up.

--[X] Keep silent, only speak when spoken to.
--[X] A mix of the last two; Try to stay light-hearted, but bring up any suspicions or thoughts you have.

[X] Ask Homura what's on her mind.
-[X] If she has a suggestion, go with it, otherwise our plan

I want to celebrate our Lord's return with some sort of omake randomness!
... For some reason Yuma is not in this scene, despite that this was inspired by MSKYO.
Let's pretend Yuma is busy somewhere else, dealing with Oriko or something.
It was a nice afternoon at the Kaname home.
The sun slowly hid behind the horizon as four girl chatted inside. Or at least three of them did, Homura only chimed in now and then.
It was while discussing the topic of violins and boys that she did so, interrupting a very inspired speech from Sayaka.
"Lost cause," murmured Homura, not even deigning to look up as Sayaka scowled at her. "Kamijou is attracted to violins; girls are a far more distant concern to his mind. Really, I don't understand how could anyone fall for him."
"Harsh," chimed in Kyouko.
"Maybe," snapped the bleunette in their little tea party, "you'd understand if you had anyone you liked," she scoffed, raising a pitying eyebrow at the time traveller, who finally looked up at her.
Homura's arm wrapped itself around Madoka's waist -"eep!" cried the pinkette- and pulled her closer, the flushed girl's head ending up on Homura's shoulder.
A high pitched wheezing sound, like a deflating balloon emitted from Madoka's lips. Sayaka's, meanwhile, open and close with nary an intelligent sound.
"B-bu-bwah, y-you," the bleunette pointed intermittently at the thoroughly unimpressed Homura and the shyly quivering Madoka, who buried her face into the time traveller's shoulder, "but... Girls can't love girls!" snapped Sayaka, wide-eyed.
Homura scoffed and ran her fingers through Madoka's hair.
Madoka's shy whimper, halfway embarrassed, halfway enjoying the contact, mixed with Sayaka's spluttering objections and Kyouko's snickers into a cacophony that almost brought a smile to Homura's lips.
It wouldn't have done to actually smile.
"... No, impossible, that's not going to work..." a green haired girl spoke firmly on the phone, "... You know why- no- yes, you need to plan this out, understand?" she made an impatient waving motion at her companion, a tall boy who watched her with mild interest. "Yes, you need to set goals: Long term goals, then short term goals to reach those long term goals, you know 'quick and dirty' business don't end well- right, exactly, you don't want to end up like that again. So just plan ahead, OK, I need to go. Good luck."
A beep and a sigh marked the end of her call.
"Who was that?" asked Kyousuke.
"Don't know," shrugged Hitomi, "wrong number."
Her phone lighted up again, a tune playing.
"Hello?" she answered, blinking. "Sayaka? What's wrong- look, hold up, calm down... just- just take a deep breath, OK? Tell me what's wrong." She stood attentive, listening at her friend rant for a minute, before shaking her head and smiling. "Sayaka, you know how it is: Girls-"
Hitomi's head snapped to her companion, to the boy patiently waiting on her. Her eyes quickly flickered back and forth between the confused Kyousuke and the phone.
"-can love girls, of course!"
Sayaka gaped like a fish.
"But- you said- I don't- but- Hitomi! ... Hitomi? Did- did you... she hanged up on me!" the blue haired girl yelled indignantly, looking around for support...
Madoka- still blushing and now cuddling onto Homura's side.
Homura- radiating smugness even though her expression didn't shift one inch from 'stone cold killer'.
Kyouko- graduated from snickering to outright guffawing at Sayaka's indignation, while at the same time eating a bag of chips.
Sayaka had to wonder for a moment how the redhead could eat and laugh loudly at the same time, without even dropping as much as crumb, before she remembered she was supposed to feel annoyed.
Right, no help to be found.
"Weirdos," she mumbled, which made her feel marginally better.
Kyouko continued chuckling at her expense.
"Don't be mean..." Madoka finally sat up straight, still red-faced as she stared at Kyouko. Homura's eyes dimmed with slight disappointment.
Red eyes rolled in their sockets. "Pshh, fine, guess it's not Sayaka's fault her mind can't handle new ideas." At the bleunette's glare, she raised her hands defensively. "Seriously, I know you had those math and history exams, right? So I understand if your brain's a tad overheated and atrophied, you know?" The glare turned into a scowl. "Me? My pops preached freedom in all sorts of way, I understand, and I'm not blaming you for being closeted-minded- I mean, close minded and having the introspective ability of a fish-"
"Hey, stop that," cut in Homura, staring down at Kyouko before turning to the increasingly murderous-looking Sayaka, whose murderous impulses screeched to a halt as she turned to the dark haired girl, blinked confusedly.
Homura nodded kindly to the angry girl. "Sayaka might be quick to judge, but her mind is not overheated nor atrophied," she glared at Kyouko, who rolled her eyes, arms crossed.
Then Homura reached out and -Sayaka startled- laid a hand down on the bleunette's head. "This? It can't be atrophied because it's brand new, hasn't been used, yet."
Homura's hand was promptly slapped away as Sayaka stood up, yelled at her and Kyouko to "sod off, both of you!" and stomped away and out Madoka's home.
Silence reigned for all of a second, to be broken by Kyouko's snickering.
"Too easy," she offered a fist in Homura's direction.
The time traveller brushed a hand through her hair before returning the gesture, the girls' fists bumping into each other.
"That was mean..." mumbled Madoka.
Homura's lips curled, the first show of emotion she allowed past her defenses that day.
The pinkette stood up, shooting both Homura and Kyouko a very mild glare.
Homura's eyes might have flickered away for a microsecond.
"I'm gonna go after Sayaka and talk to her," Madoka explained in as firm a tone as she ever took, "I'll ask her to come back and I don't want any of you making fun of her again, understood?"
Kyouko stared back impassively, a pinky finger digging into her own ear.
Homura... looked away.
Madoka leaned in, forcing Homura to look at her.
The time traveller looked the other way.
The pinkette leaned again until her eyes met Homura's.
Finally, Homura sighed and nodded.
"OK," Madoka seemed satisfied with her half-hearted progress, "I'll do that. Dinner's gonna be soon, so you two wash your hands," she threw Kyouko a pointed look.
"Fine, whatever, but really, it's no big deal, you don't have to go, Madoka..." she mumbled, watching as the pinkette followed after her friend. The door closed behind Madoka. "Well, I tried."
Kyouko's eyes met Homura's.
The red head grinned.
Purple eyes warned her.
Red eyes crinkled with sinister cheer.
Homura pursed her lips.
Kyouko opened her mouth.
Homura had a 'stop' on the tip of her tongue-
"Whipped."
Homura's mouth clicked close, glowering at the grinning redhead.
With a sigh, the time traveller stood up, and went to do as asked. As she turned, her hair seemed to snap at Kyouko with each step she took. She nodded politely as she crossed paths with Madoka's mom.
Junko strode into the living room and looked around, wondering at Madoka's and Sayaka's absence. Her questioning eyes came to rest on Kyouko's.
The redhead, still munching on a chip, shrugged.
"Eh, women."
Junko nodded in understanding, moving on.
Outside, Sayaka waited with great annoyance for Madoka to catch up.
Madoka hoped she could help her friend calm down and make peace.
Homura dried her hands and thought about how nice it felt to have Madoka wrapped around her arm.
[X] Ask Homura what's on her mind.

"Hey, Homura," you say. "Did you think of something?"
"Well, if no one else…" Homura trails off, frowning as her gaze shifts between you and Kyoko. You shake your head while Big Sis simply shrugs, and Homura's frown deepens. Truthfully, you do have some semblance of an idea, but you want to hear what Homura has to say before you give your piece. She'll probably have a better plan anyway.
"In that case…" she narrows her eyes and puts a hand on her chin, deep in thought. "Kyoko Sakura," she says, slowly, choosing each word carefully. "You have some way of… creating barriers, do you not?"
Kyoko narrows her eyes, turning away from the oncoming horde to stare a Homura.
"Yeah, actually, I do," she says. "But how the hell did you know that?"
Homura turns her gaze to the side, avoiding eye contact.
"I have my ways, and I will be happy to explain them once the witch is dead. Now in the meantime, would you be able to use your barrier to cordon off a section of the hallway, so that we may pass through uninterrupted?"
"What, you mean like a chunk on the side? It'd need to be all the way down the long part of the hall, and with how big it is…"
"Actually, I was thinking of using the ceiling," says Homura. "Many familiars are not hostile to magical girls, so if we isolate ourselves by hanging off chains on the ceiling…"
"Then they may just ignore us," says Kyoko. "Yeah, it doesn't look like they can fly, so I guess that's a good way to test it. And it would be way less expensive than having a barrier all the way down the hall."
Despite her agreement, Kyoko is still tense. She's almost certainly suspicious of Homura, and to be honest, so are you. How did she know about Kyoko's chain barriers? Well, you suppose she can answer any questions over supper.
At Homura's nod, Kyoko twirls her spear, and three red chains attach themselves to the walls on either side, so that the chains hang just below the ceiling. The three of you jump up, grabbing the chains and hanging above the approaching familiars.
Kyoko's spun around so she's sitting on her chain, Homura's wrapped her legs around hers, so that she's hanging upside-down, and you're just holding on. "Run! Get away from her!"
The three of you tense as the familiars pass below you, but loosen up when they keep going. Now that they're closer, you can see what they look like in more detail.
They're wearing what appear to be hazmat suits, bleached white with yellow plastic masks. They're human-shaped, but also horribly proportioned, with spindly arms and gigantic fingers, like someone took a six-year old's drawing of a person and made it into a familiar. "She can't handle it!"
"Guess they're friendly," says Kyoko. "And hell, they ain't got any eldritch shit going on, I say I like em!"
"They're certainly not the worst familiars for us to encounter," says Homura. "But back on topic, they appeared to be running away from something. I suggest we hurry, and find whatever it is before it finds us."
Kyoko's semblance of a smile fades away into a frown, and she scowls at Homura. The last of the familiars run below you, and their cries start to fade.
"Just so we're clear, once we're out of here, you're telling me exactly how you knew about my chain barriers," says Kyoko.
Homura merely nods, placating Kyoko as the three of you drop down and resume running towards the witch, alarm still blaring.
After a minute of running, you notice Homura's head jerk upwards. "I can feel the witch's presence," she says. "It was well concealed, but nearby."
You all keep running, and you notice something on one of the walls. It's a yellow and black sign, in English, but you know what it is without having to read it.
"It's a bio-hazard sign," says Kyoko. "Either the barrier itself is about to fuck us up, or the witch has something up its sleeve."
You start to resume running, but Homura's voice stops you in your tracks.
"That's not all," says Homura. "Look behind you."
You turn around to find that the walls are now covered in warning signs; radioactive, flammable, corrosive, any and every warning sign is now on the walls you just passed.
"This witch is packing some serious heat," says Kyoko. You shudder but continue onward, trying not to shake.
If the witch wanted you to be afraid, it has done its job.
In front of you, the hallway comes to a halt, a white door in the way. It, like everything else in the barrier, is bleached white, with no handle
"Yuma, you ready?" asks Kyoko, head tilted.
"Yeah, Yuma is ready," you say. "Whatever's in there, we can take care of it."
Kyoko smiles, and the two of you push the door open.
The room is huge, square, with white panels on the walls and ceiling and floor made of white marble. In the center, maybe twenty meters from you, is a white sphere, about four meters tall and just as wide, as spheres are.
In the middle of the part facing you is a black indent, with red numbers spelling out 05:00.
"What the hell?" says Kyoko. Is that the witch?"
04:59
"That's a countdown!" says Homura. "Quickly!"
You and Kyoko sprint forward, intent on killing the witch before the timer can hit zero.
04:50
Kyoko reaches the witch first and thrusts her spear forward, but it fails to penetrate the smooth plastic and glances off to the side.
04:40
"The timer goes down when you hit it!" shouts Homura. You reach the witch now, mace trailing behind you, and bring it around your side. Your mace slams into the witch, but the impact sends it flying instead of doing any real damage.
04:25
"Go at it from the top!" Kyoko and Homura shout at the same time. "If not, try to get it into a corner!" continues Homura. You let Kyoko pass you as you gain speed, heading towards the witch.
03:50
Kyoko twirls her spear, manifesting a few chains in the air above the witch.
"The chains have slack!" she yells. "Jump into them, and I'll straighten them out to propel you downwards!"
You nod, and tense your legs as you prepare to jump upwards. Kyoko comes to a stop in front of the witch, knowing that any attack would be counter-productive, and she turns towards you, preparing for her part in your attack.
Unfortunately, this means she doesn't see one of the witch's panels slide open.
"Big Sis, behind you!"
Kyoko immediately jumps out of the way, turning around in the air to see what the threat is, and she almost avoids the blast of fire that shoots out of the empty panel. You leap up, eyes on Kyoko as she lands on a black, charred ankle. She screams, dropping to her knees, but she turns her head to look at you. Your eyes are wide with concern, but Kyoko nods resolutely.
03:45
You feel your back hit the slack chain, slowing your ascent, before you come to a stop a few feet above the witch. You raise your mace above your head and scream in a mix of fear and rage as the chains send you flying towards the top of the witch. Your mace hits it with a loud clang, your arms and shoulders screaming in pain from the impact, and you hear a loud crack. The ground below the witch is reduced to rubble, and the witch itself does not go unscathed. A round dent has appeared where your mace was, and the edge of the dent is cracked.
03:00
The panel you hit tries to retract, but stalls. The dent seems to have gotten it stuck in place, unable to shift, but more importantly it's created a crack in the armor for Kyoko to hit. You hop down from the witch, keeping it in your sight as you run to Kyoko.
"My-my foot!" says Kyoko, biting back tears. You nod, and slam the butt of your mace on the ground. Kyoko's foot glows green for a few moments, before the magic dissipates and she's back to normal. Kyoko lets out a breath, planting her spear on the ground and hoisting herself up.
"There's a crack in the top," you say. "Think you can hit it?"
"Fuck yeah I can," says Kyoko. "Now, let's finish this thing."
The two of you start running towards the witch, but it surprises you yet again, rolling backward. You think it's running at first, but you quickly realize what it's doing.
"It's hiding the crack!" you say. "I'll knock it over, and Kyoko, you be ready to stab it once it's open!"
She nods, pulling ahead of you once more, and the witch rests in place.
02:45
Kyoko's behind the witch by the time you reach it, spear at the ready, and you bring your mace forward. It connects with a clang and the witch goes flying, just as before, but Kyoko's ready for it now.
02:35
Kyoko's eyes lock onto the dent you've created, and she splits her spear into its chain form. She sends the spearhead sailing at the dent, hoping to avoid getting crushed by it as she would be if she used a regular spear. Her aim is true, and the witch emits a high-pitched whine as Kyoko's spearhead lodges itself behind the dented panel.
"Got ya!" she shouts, tugging on the spear. The spearhead comes out of the witch, along with the dented panel and some brightly colored machinery.
02:00
As soon as the dented panel is ripped out, the entire witch begins to shift. A screeching noise comes from within it, before another white panel replaces the one pulled out by Kyoko.
"Oh, you have got to be kidding me," says Kyoko. "Same thing as before, chain-propelled Yuma?"
You nod, and start sprinting towards the witch. Kyoko stays back this time, manifesting her chains, and you once again leap above the witch.
It's ready this time, and the panel closest to you opens up.
"Fuck!" Kyoko yells, already pulling you away with her chains. But she's not fast enough, and you watch in horror as the open panel shoots a yellow mist directly at you. You close your mouth and shut your eyes, but you still take some up your nose. You bite back tears at the intense burning inside you, starting in your nose and going down into your lungs. Fuck, it feels like your insides are on fire! You land hard on your shoulder, rolling to a stop as Kyoko rushes over to check on you.
"Yuma!" she yells, kneeling down beside you as you cough. "Are you hurt? Oh, fuck!" She turns over to glare at Homura, eyes glistening. "Aren't you supposed to be watching out for us?" While Kyoko yells, you press your mace against your chest and begin healing.
"I can only react so quickly," says Homura. She reaches… into her shield, pulling out some black, plastic masks. "These are gas masks," she says. "If the witch is fighting with gasses, then everyone should have one of these on."
You reach out for one, still coughing, but Kyoko grabs both of them.
"Now please, hurry," says Homura. "I cannot stress enough just how urgent we must be."
Kyoko nods, putting on her mask and putting yours on for you. It feels odd, a weight on your face that shouldn't be there, but you're fine with being uncomfortable if it means not getting any more gas inside you. Kyoko helps you to your feet, and the two of you look over to the spherical witch.
"That replacement plate had to come from somewhere," you say. "Its armor is probably weaker now. What do you say we run the same move again, but this time, you're ready to pull me away if it shoots something dangerous?"
"And when it opens up, I can try to stick a spear in there," says Kyoko. "Yeah, that sounds good. I'm faster than it is, so if I'm expecting that trick and you've got a mask..."
"Let's go," you say.
01:30
The two of you begin your run, Kyoko in the front and you trailing behind. She prepares the chains, you leap up, and the panel opens to attack you, but this time, Kyoko's ready for it. She's got her own chain, and when the panel opens she launches herself forward. The witch sends a brief burst of gas your way, which fails to do anything thanks to Homura's gas masks, and Kyoko's spear is deep inside it before the second is up.
The gas cuts out as Kyoko severs the unseen nozzle, and then sticks another spear at the edge of the opening before the witch can put its armor back in place. This leaves the witch defenseless in the spot you're positioned over, and you can't contain your grin as Kyoko tightens the chain and sends you hurtling towards the weak spot.
You smash your mace into the opening, going into it like a hot knife into butter, the witch's insides brittle and all too easy for you to crush. The witch produces a metallic shriek, shuddering. Your mace is so deep inside the witch that the outside panels are about even with your elbows, and you pull your mace back out as you prepare to strike again.
The second strike is less powerful than the first, but the machinery not crushed by your first attack has been put on the edge of breaking, making your job all the easier. The panels nearest to the impact rattle and fall out, shaken loose by the impact. You pull your mace out of witch, and your eyes widen as you see what is underneath all the metal.
It's a green sphere, like glass, and you the wrongness you can feel emanating from it confirms it to be the witch's core. It has cracks on the side closest to you, damaged by your recent hit, and you know it would only take one or two more strikes to kill it for good. You raise your mace for the killing blow, but a piercing cry stops you in your tracks.
"Yuma, get away!" screams Kyoko, gas mask in her hands. She's a few feet away from where she was when you attacked, with the witch between you and her. You notice that the edges of her dress are... melting? Weird, but that seems to confirm an attack by the witch while you were busy. Homura's right next to her, face hidden by her mask, but she seems on-edge, Her hand is on her shield, the other up in the air. There's a crack in the space next to her, like the entrance- or in this case, exit- of a witch's barrier.
Now, why would Kyoko-
Oh.
00:10
Where did your time go? Unless- crap, if the clock goes down whenever it takes damage, then of course it would lose more time the more damage it takes! And with such devastating attacks as your last two...
"Yuma Chitose, get your ass over here!" shouts Homura.
There are ten seconds before the witch does... whatever it does once the clock hits zero, and you're basically inside it. You should get away, you know, but you can kill it right now! It would take one good hit, and the witch would be dead! If you retreat, it will cover up the opening and do... whatever it's going to do! Not to mention that you'd all be outside the barrier!
Well, you think experienced magical girls can keep pathways open, so you wouldn't be stranded outside the barrier, but still!
But Kyoko and Homura are telling you to come back...
What do you do?
[ ] Finish off the witch, don't stop until it's dead.
[ ] See if you can finish it off in one hit, and get out if you can't

[X] Ask Homura what's on her mind. -[X] If she has a suggestion, go with it, otherwise our plan [X] I've got an idea… -[X] Test the idea that familiars are running away by hugging the wall under Kyoko's lattice barrier and letting them pass --[X] If attacked, try to AoE stun and run past them ---[X] If unsuccessful, clean up after Big Sis Kyoko. Keep her safe, and watch her back.
Oh hey, Homura's plan was pretty much my plan, except I was playing chess while Homura was playing 3D chess. So that's nice. I should have thought of the ceiling too though...
Okay, we're definitely not sticking around for the witch's self-destruct/enrage/whatever timer if both Best Sis and Homura (and presumably Homura's hair) agree it's not a good idea. Let's advance in retrograde.
Basically it seems we have a biochemicalnuclear bomb witch who deals with intruders by suicide bombing them and whose familiars are bomb disposal crews that flee from it and try to warn intruders to do likewise. Obviously, our Meguca's never read the line about "if you see the bomb disposal tech running, run after him ASAP".
Gotta wonder what MG and her fall into despair produced that. This a North Korean witch who wished for Glorious Leaders WMD program's success?
[X] Finish off the witch, don't stop until it's dead.
Mebbe if we kill it before it detonates, it won't explode.
She wished for GLORIOUS NIPPON STRONK to not have been bombed in the War, but despaired upon the realization that, in order to preserve the sanctity of the space-time continuum, not only did Japan need to be bombed, but she was now the one who had to do the bombing on account of her space-time fuckery.

It's probably more allegorical than literal. Someone who loathes themselves, who thinks that they are dangerous, and that people need to avoid them. Possibly someone who witched out upon discovering she would turn into a monster.
It's kind of interesting, because usually witches are all about bringing people into their lair, because they are fundamentally lonely creatures. A witch whose familiars warn people away and who doesn't seem to attack until threatened is a bit of a deviation from the norm.
