"We have to call Madoka, don't we?" you say.
Kyok nods. "Yeah, yeah. Cause if we don't- but what do we say?"
She pauses, and you take some time to think. "W-Well," you say. "We don't want to say too much, cause Homura trusted us and we don't want to betray that, but at the same time…"
"As little as we can get away with saying," Kyoko summarizes.
You nod. "Maybe something like… tell Madoka that Homura needs to go on some dates, even if she feels like she would ruin them? And she needs someone like Madoka to show her that loving and being loved won't break her, or people she loves."
Kyoko blinks. "That's… that's pretty good, actually." She reaches forward and pats you on the head. "But I'm not sure it covers everything? Madoka's, you know, Madoka. She might just think Homura doesn't like her, or something. And I don't wanna up and tell her Homura likes her, but…"
"Maybe only if she says something about Homura not liking her, we could tell her we think Homura likes her?" you suggest. "That sounds like something we'd say if Homura hadn't told us., and we only do it if we have to?"
Kyoko pats you again, this time ruffling your hair so it falls over your eyes. "Again, good. We want her to stand up to Homura and ask her out, and she needs to believe Homura likes her to do that. But we also don't want to be too manipulative."
You nod, which makes the task of getting hair out of your eyes all the more difficult. "So we call Madoka and say that Homura has her issues, and that Madoka can really help Homura but Homura doesn't think so. And then…"
"Tell Madoka to go get her, and hope everything works out for the better?"
You shrug. "Yuma thinks that's it."
Kyoko sighs, and leans back in her seat. "You think it'll work?" she asks.
"Yeah, Yuma thinks so." You pause. "It has to."
For a few seconds, the room is silent, the full weight of your statement hanging in the air.
Kyoko gets up out of her seat. "So then," she says. "Let's do this."
You nod, and establish a telepathic connection with Madoka. "Hi, Madoka? It's Yuma and Kyoko."
It takes a few seconds for Madoka to respond, and you can't help but think you startled her just a bit. "Hi, Yuma, Kyoko. What's up?"
"There's…"
You pause, and Kyoko takes over for you. "There's something important we need to talk to you about."
There's a pause. "I-Important?" Madoka says. "How important? About what? Is it urgent?"
"It's- okay, look. It's not urgent, but it's pretty important. Not life-threatening, really, but… very personal."
"Personal, huh… maybe we should talk about this in person?"
You raise an eyebrow and share a glance with Kyoko. Maybe it would be better to talk to Madoka in person, but you need to talk to her before Homura does. Kyoko shakes her head. "I'm not sure it should wait until you're done school," she says.
"Oh no, not after school," replies Madoka. "Why not join Sayaka and me for lunch break? Our friend Hitomi got kissed by a witch a day or two ago, and Homura had to leave school for some reason, so it will just be me and Sayaka."
"For lunch?" responds Kyoko, incredulous. "But we just got up!"
"...That is distressing," says Madoka. "But yeah, lunch break is in twenty minutes. Wanna join us and explain then?"
You look at Kyoko, and she shrugs. "Should we?" she says. "I mean, this sort of thing is probably better said in person, but... I'm not sure, honestly. Sayaka will be there, so we'd have to explain why we need to talk to Madoka, but we'd get to spend some time with them..."
What to do?
[ ] Go to lunch with Madoka and Sayaka, and explain to Madoka then.

There's no IC reason to mistrust QB and thus not use telepathy. On the other hand, spending time with the girls is always good. Do we actually know where they'd be eating lunch? It'd be rather weird if we tried to join them in the school cafeteria

Why would she be doing that? If she wanted to keep an eye on Madoka, she'd better actually be there with her. It's more likely that she's out breaking into military facilities or hunting witches.
