So yeah, moonlit nights, meetings on the roof, tearful exclamations of "Kyousuke, or me? Choose!"
Let's stretch Homura's sanity to its utmost. Stretching exercises are good for your health, right? Right.
These kind of ultimatums don't form the basis of healthy relationships, and Yuma should be smart enough to know it. I'll cautiously disagree.

Yuma might, but I'm not
Besides it's a romantic trope in general and romantic anime trope in particular
Anime can't be possibly wrong!1!1!
And now I have an idea about Kyouko arguing she's gonna be a better bride than Kyousuke because her feminine form of a name is much better-sounding
Where have I gone wrong in my life

To be fair, being a better bride than a guy is not very hard if you're female

Mmm, sorry for doubleposting
But
I've just figured out something
When Madokami brings someone with her to the Magical Girl HeavenTM
She takes their hands
Considering they cease to exist afterwards in the material universe and linear causality
Does it mean that Madokahalla is basically everyone holding hands with Madokami
Forever and ever?
Sooo
@tapkomet, whaddaya think?

That does seem sound. My analysts tell me that's effectively an infinite amount of handholding for each MG. Out of wedlock. Very degenerate. Truly inspiring.

"Homura, can I have my hands back? I can't grab things without my hands..."

"Will you use your hands to go help magical girls, thus putting yourself in danger of being caught by the incubators?"

"No."

"Really?"

"Yes!"

"Really really?"

"... No."

"You might not have your hands back."

You are Yuma Chitose, and you are facing a challenge. An obstacle, if you will. How shall you overcome this?

It should be obvious.

"Homura, get over here," you say.

Homura stares at you, but she eventually lifts herself off her seat and comes to stand in front of you. "What do you-"

You wrap an arm around her waist, putting the other around Kyoko's shoulders and bringing them both in for a Double Hug. You barely hear Homura let out a noise of surprise as she's pulled into your embrace, and given the smile on Big Sis Kyoko's face (it's really more in-between a smile and a smirk, but you're rather charitable) you think she heard it too.

"Y-Yuma Chitose," Homura says, having quickly regained her composure. "Why are you hugging me?"

"Yuma's not just hugging you," you say. "Yuma is hugging you and Big Sis Kyoko! It's a double hug! A hughug!"

Homura sighs, and you hear Kyoko giggle, but you don't let up. You will hug them, and you will not let up until they like it. Meanwhile, Homura and Kyoko begin to realize just how… close they are. You can't see their expressions, but you feel Kyoko shuffle around as Homura clears her throat. You look up to see that Homura's eyes are darting back and forth from you to Kyoko, and the beginning of an evil grin is making itself known on Kyoko's face.

"Nice weather we're having," Kyoko says. Homura exhales lightly through her nose, something you've learned is her equivalent of laughter.

"Quite," she simply responds. Well, if they're comfortable enough to make jokes, you figure your hugging project is done. You release them into the cold, unforgiving, un-hugging wild, and within moments Homura is back on her couch.

"So, now that we have regained our freedom," Homura says, foolishly believing herself to have escaped your clutches for more than just a few seconds. "I assume you had something you wanted to say, Yuma Chitose?"

Right! Talking! You should… you should probably do that, now that you think about it. But talk about what?

Well, you could probably start off by consoling Homura. You're nothing if not a genius detective whom everyone loves and adores, and with your stellar investigative skills you've come to the conclusion that Homura Wished to know her romantic prospects. Now, given how grumpy she is, the natural conclusion is that those prospects weren't what she hoped for. That is Not Fun, and deserves some comforting from Yuma Chitose, Master Hugger.

"Homura," you say, deciding to start off slow. "How much… you know, dating experience do you have?"

Homura blinks, surprised. Whatever question she was expecting, you're pretty sure that wasn't it. "How much…" she trails off, scrunching her forehead in thought. "Not a lot. I've only ever been in a relationship with one-" she glances at Kyoko. "Make that two or three people. Of course, it would be an exaggeration to say I understood what was happening, but it happened nonetheless."

"So basically," says Kyoko. "What you're saying is you're just as clueless as the rest of us?"

"I am just as clueless as the rest of you in regards to this one specific issue," corrects Homura.

"Sure, just for this, whatever ya say," Kyoko says.

Kyoko doesn't say anything more, and you take that as your cue to continue. "Now Homura, Yuma knows that wishes don't always end up how you want them-" you have to force yourself not to glance at Kyoko- "But you don't have to be so down! Your Wish may not have worked out for you before, but things are going your way now!"

Homura stares at you, eyes wide and mouth hanging open. In a shocking turn from the norm, she makes no effort to hide her emotions.

She swallows audibly. "Y-Yuma Chitose, what are you - what-" she takes a deep breath. "What do you think I Wished for?"

"You Wished to know your romantic prospects, duh."

Homura continues staring at you. Her mouth opens and closes without any sound coming out, and you begin to suspect you may have said something wrong.

Throughout this all, Kyoko's gaze has been alternating between you and Homura, and she takes this moment to intervene. "H-Hey, Homura, I know Yuma may have-"

"Things may not have worked out at the start, but the future's starting to look bright," Homura mutters. "I suppose that is… accurate, though the 'start' took far longer than I would have wished." She… she smiles at you, lips turning upwards in a small but entirely there smile. "I did not Wish to know my romantic prospects, no, but your statement is still rather accurate."

So… she didn't make the Wish you thought she did? But - no, she's smiling, pay attention!

"Yeah, things are looking better now!" you say. "Yuma may not know what your life was like before this, but things are going pretty well now! You've got Big Sis Kyoko and Yuma as your friends!"

"Friends," says Homura. "Yes, I suppose that would be an accurate description of our relationship." She pauses, looking at Kyoko. "And I am sorry about earlier. I didn't think about how knowing Sayaka's romantic woes would affect your relationship."

Kyoko sighs. "Look, I get it. Yeah, I'm irked, but it's not the end of the world. It's gonna be kinda weird now, knowing personal shit about her and her love life that she didn't tell me, but it's not gonna stop me."

"Big Sis is right!" you say, pumping your arms up and down in excitement. "Sure, you made a mistake, but everyone makes mistakes. You were only trying to help!"

Homura shifts her gaze between you and Kyoko, attention turning from your wide grin to Kyoko's small but encouraging smile. "Thank you for being so understanding," she says, bowing her head slightly. You continue beaming at Homura, but a tiny begins begin to form on her face. "Apologies, but there was something you said that… confused me," she says. "You said that even outside my love life, things are looking up. Even outside my love life? I must confess, I'm not entirely what you mean by that. Is my love life in particular coming along well?"

You share a glance with Kyoko. Homura can't possibly be unaware of what's going on with Madoka, right?

"Homura," Kyoko says. "I may be reaching here, but I kinda think-"

"That Madoka has a crush on me?" Homura finishes, looking apprehensive. Kyoko slowly nods, and you nod a more regular pace. She speeds up to match you, of course, and you stop nodding before this can turn into a contest.

"Yeah, Yuma thinks Madoka maaaaay have a little bit of a crush on you," you say. "So your love life is looking up!"

But Homura shakes her head. "No, it's now. I… it's complicated. I… I don't think it would be wise for me to pursue a relationship with Madoka. She deserves better. It would be… selfish of me."

Uh-oh. Homura thinks she shouldn't be with Madoka, not because she doesn't like Madoka but because she thinks Madoka… what, wouldn't be happy, or at least would be happier with someone else? She thinks Madoka could do better?

But she's wrong!

What do you do?

[ ] No! That's bad!
-[ ] Madoka
can't do much better than Homura!
-[ ] It doesn't matter if it's selfish! If she likes Madoka, Homura should go get her!
-[ ] At the end of the day, the only one who chooses who Madoka dates is Madoka. If Homura doesn't want to be with Madoka for reasons on Homura's end, that's fine, but she should leave the Madoka reasons to Madoka.
-[ ] Shouldn't
Madoka have some say in whether a relationship between them would be good?

[ ] Fine. But she at least owes Madoka a good explanation for why they can't be together.

[ ] Write-in.

Alright, Onmur won this one. Eh. Two or three?

Okay. Madoka, obviously.
Kyouko, I guess.
Who's the third one?
...
Sayaka?
Mami?
Hitomi?!
KWIJIBO?!

Why do you torment me with this suspense, Chungus?

Seriously, Homura, at least this timeline's Madoka is super gay for you and your hair.
Now, you might or might not be a time-traveling lesbian trying to prevent the death and/or transformation into an unholy abomination of your first love who committed unspeakable things for what you believed were good reasons at the time, but it's not your fault! Urobuchi has a tragedy fetish, so it all went downhill the moment they allowed him to get to the writing desk.
Also, you're basically a socially awkward teenager who holds herself together with coffee, glue and fucktons of kuudere.

Eh, Yuma couldn't say that, I guess, even if she knew Homura's circumstances.

"Yuma's not just hugging you," you say. "Yuma is hugging you and Big Sis Kyoko! It's a double hug! A hughug!"
Wait, no? A hughug is way more powerful than a double hug.

A Double Hug is 2 Hug, double the hugging power.

Meanwhile, a Hug Hug is Hug squared. As we all know, Hugs are Powerful things, so they count as more than 1, meaning the power of the Hug Hug is far superior to that of the 2 Hug.

"So, now that we have regained our freedom," Homura says, foolishly believing herself to have escaped your clutches for more than just a few seconds. "I assume you had something you wanted to say, Yuma Chitose?"

Right! Talking! You should…
Attention everybody, Yuma has sworn to re-hug Homura right now... and hasn't! :o

Quick! Vote to hug Homura!

So… she didn't make the Wish you thought she did? But - no, she's smiling, pay attention!
- thought Yuma while peeking her head over the corner.

Homura? Smiling? O.O

:V

Kyoko slowly nods, and you nod a more regular pace. She speeds up to match you, of course, and you stop nodding before this can turn into a contest.
Yuma is so mature. Unlike Kyouko. :p

Okay. Madoka, obviously.
Kyouko, I guess.

KWIJIBO?!
Homura's hair, duh.

(Or maybe Hitomi, as I believe she has a route in the PSP game?)

But really, we should tell Homura that she's obviously wrong, as Homura comes with Homura's Hair attached, and seeing as Homura is not a bad catch herself, she's obviously a Superior Dating Option for Madoka.
