Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Can't we read both Una and Karen's perspectives? I really want to read both.

[X] Una and Karen

I really don't envy the boss lady. If it's not Light going silent, it's dimensional walls being lowered. If it's not her magical girl spirited away by Gaia, it's same magical girl showing her codependence subscriptions over her adorable little sister.

As for Una, I wonder if she's having some interesting dreams.
EDIT: *pouts* why can't I have both Karen and Una?

[X] Una?

I am concerned by Gaia's reaction. If she sees Una as a fake knight, she may take action. I don't expect to take our relationship into consideration if it involves a impersonator. Faking to be a knight is a big thing. We might have to have to negotiate Una's release from suspicion.

If it is another MG with hypnosis abilities, Gaia would have not called Una a faker. This is a problem. Either we somehow gave Una MG-lite abilities and made her our squire without Gaia's consent, Or there's another player on the field. The Belfast was just the Catalyst for either argument.

EDIT: Not only that, but the question mark is conflicting. Either there's some strange multiple personalities going on, or she's being impersonated by another creature, and the real Una has been kidnapped.

If it's the latter, I vote to go on a Rescue mission while keeping our rage in check, until we meet the perpetrator of course. Reason why is because I don't want us to get angry and blow both Una and the perpetrator away.

I wonder if Gaia didn't just decide Una was very cuddleable and then borrowed her for a moment(in geological timescales)

Soo... I was thinking again.

The way it was written, Gaia did not seem particularly angry. I did not get that vibe from her, given the characterisation we got so far. Her calling someone a "faker" seemed more like indignation over someone stealing her shtick.

Which makes me wonder about the why.

Here are the reasons I think possible:

1) The Belfast became actually aware in the same sense Gaia is (unlikely, seeing that Best Forest seemed to be the same)

2) The Belfast became capable of interacting with humans via an avatar

3) In being linked to Una, the Belfast actually managed to awaken magical power or at least 'plant' it (to be awakened later) in her

1) and 2) could be viable insofar that small spirits may not be supposed to achieve this kind of ability. 3) seems the most likely, though. Cerys basically flooded her sister with magic right afterwards, so that might have hidden traces of latent magic in Una.

Additionally, we saw the Belfast's avatar fade away; I originally thought that was because of Cerys throwing magic around, but she might as well be fusing herself into Una (without realising) to complete a process she normally would not have the power for.

Please take my considerations with a grain of salt, though; I was certain that Una would become a Magical Girl since the beginning, so my mind might jump to conclusions that are not really there.

... I just want an explanation from the pov of a character actually aware of what's going on.

And lets be real. Una doesn't know jack about what's happening to her.

She likely has a better basis for theory crafting then Una though. Background knowledge from as long a life as hers can't really be compared to the bewilderment and disorientation Una will be going through.

On the other hand, Una is directly affected and currently the only person who can at least describe what is going on inside her.

I don't know. I'm just tired of vague descriptions of feelings from people just as clueless as we are. It creates a lot of questions and exactly no answers as to what is actually happening.

But thats my personal preference based in large part on my desire to bite into the nitty gritty of the world around us and to get a greater understanding of the details of the setting and its differences from the original.

Hope she can do damage control otherwise I would be quite annoyed if Cerys do something stupid, Urgh.

Damnit. I figured I could burn a half an hour checking a few chapters of this out and ended up binging the entire thing.
It's fairly enjoyable to read, but the escalation over the course of a couple weeks from 'Struggling with basic monsters' to 'reshaping portions of the planet's crust' was a bit of a shock.
