Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

well scouting question, do we see a human-sized heat source in the guy's house?

This is... somewhat implied in the vote as is; I had such a line in it previously, but cut that out due to how long the plan became in the end.

Besides of that, Cerys should react to the guy not being there.

I meant as a mini action taken to inform our planning if there is something weird with his heat signature that would have a major affect on our plan.

I think there are enough unknowns that we do not want to risk fighting him in the village. The issue is if he would rabbit or not if we hit his base. He's parnoid right now so if he thinks his base has been found he might make a run for it.

or we could rop the insides of the house to absolute zero and call it a day. Less flashy than fire but about as deadly.

I do not want to risk that, either... but he will not do what we want, no matter how much we want him to.
I made this plan to explicitly avoid fighting him in the village, unless absolutely necessary; even if he flees through the front door, Cerys will probably wait until he leaves the village before attacking... unless her goes rampaging.

Will change fire to ice, though. Let us see how well we do on the other end of our thermal powers.

I'm mostly okay with Naron's plan

I'm just wondering why everyone is trying to deal with him in the house instead of waiting for him to go to his lab and doing all of this there

also, he knows he's being hunted. So if he gets an alarm from his lab he might realize the jig is up and go into "kill as many as I can mode!"

I recommend making that conditional, fire is better at killing supernatural stuff. Going hot if his body heat signature is really weird might be a good idea. If he has turned himself into some weird shadow creature he might not need body heat anymore.

That's because we don't know what he is currently doing.

@Naron Do you think we might be able to request someone to give us a ride around the town? It would shorten the time needed to search the whole town.

Even if something like that does no longer need body heat, the body itself will just freeze up at some point due to low temperatures.
Should he survive this, he will still be unable to move... at least without risking to break himself.

Plus, I would rather not risk lots of heat here; we are good at suppressing the fire, but it takes a few moments even for us... and some houses catching fire is not really something I want to be responsible for, especially with how the common people will react when the flames are just snuffed out for no apparent reason.

Hm... it should not be that big... however, Cerys should automatically ask if this can be arranged.

It is hard to differentiate between what I can expect the character to just do and what I have to spell out in a vote...

I just want to note that this statement is entirely inaccurate.
Well... I guess it is the numbers.
We can crank up the heat by hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of degrees and more... but in Celsius, we can only go to -253 (?) before hitting rock bottom.

On first glance, having the large high numbers makes one think that fire is better.
I only remembered that ice is just as terrifying while making this vote; it is just not as noticeable because it does not destroy... much. It only freezes.

@Rukia I imagine the military guy will tell us if he sees an obvious flaw in our plan, right?

@Naron You should add 'acting like a normal young girl' while we're searching the village.

Edit: What do we do if the mage doesn't feel Human?

It really depends on how hard it is to drop the temp as opposed to raising it, but if all else is equal we do get more bang for our buck by lowering the temperatures most of the time.

Heating stuff up is useful because it explodes after a certain point. And plasma is just fun.

Say, we only have a face-shot of Cerys in her armour; how obviously unusual does it look?
As in, can we get away with wearing it and not gather too much attention?
It's certainly not normal outdoors wear, but it wouldn't have people going MAGIC IS REAL.
It would have them tutting under their breath about what parents allow kids out in these days.

(This is the only other picture of True Arfoire that exists. One of them is from Re;Birth 1 and the other is from an Art Book)

@Naron We might be able to get away with wearing clothes over our armor depending on the current weather. It's not like our appearance change while transformed (except the clothes of course).

@Rukia How long does it take to summon our armor?
