Loyalty is its own Reward (A Traitor Legion Chapter Master Quest)

I feel whether it's a trap or not you still have to roll for the success to bust out the prison or bypass the trap.

Yeah I realised that my intend didn't entirely translate, so I edited my comment.

But basically I think it would have been to much of gamble for the enemy commander to spent his limited ressouces on such a low priority target.
I mean, how much of a gamble is it really? From my view it's kind of a sure thing that the stealth and tactical minded sons of corax would strike where they think the enemy is weakest and where success would turn more weapons against their foes. It's kind of the shtick of Raven Guard successor chapters to do that. Raven Guard are among the less callous of space marines too, which would bump saving any potential prisoners up in their priority considerations. Combine that with our chapter being so young (and in the eyes of many young equals naive).

*sigh* the real answer probably is that all the options are traps, just with different flavors and levels of readiness.

Heck, we might both effectively be right, and it's just bad luck on the traitor's part that the last surprise khorne berserkers they were holding in the prison died of starvation a year before the attack, leaving only regular unruly prisoners.

we destroyed 4 escorts, 4 monitor and 1 strike cruiser.
Which is
4(75+25) + 4(80+20) + 1(200+200) =
4(100)+ 4(100) + 1(400) =
1200 HP
And
4(1d50+20) + 4(1d35) + 1(1d50+30+5) =
4(45,5) + 4(18) + 1(60,5) =
182 +72 + 60,5 =
314,5 damage per round on average

We lost 2 gothic and 2 Luna class cruisers.
Which is
2(175+125) + 2(200+100) =
2(300) + 2(300) =
1200 HP
And
2(1d50+40) + 2(1d50+45) =
2(65,5) + 2(70,5) =
131 + 141 =
272 damage per round on average

Their is also a lot of misacellous damage most notably the imperial pride lost its shields and the shields of the icon of wrath are also almost down.

Our fleet is probably going to continue to destroy the monitors while at the same time taking down the Icon of wrath Shields to allow it to be boarded.

While the enemy will most likley going to attempt to finishe the imperial pride off (either with their guns or they are going to launch aditional boarding attempts) and with that finish the imperial navy detachment off.

After we take care of Yerma tertius we should go after Yerma primus because even thought it's heavily defended if we take it it will eliminate the eyes being able to rebuild their space asssets in any capacity

[X] Plan: some Reinforcement, Secure the Sorcery fuel and fodder
-[X] Adeptus Mechanicus Cruiser Blessing of the Cog Inquisitorial Cruisers Gift of Annihilation/Eternal Vigil reinforcements to Yerma.
-[X] Proactive Assault
–[X] The Prison
---[X] the Main objective is quick takeout of the defenders and starting a slave revolt to quickly take away

Just a reminder for everyone who has voted for my plans, I've add the Ordo Malleus cruiser as reinforcements to Yerma. So now it's three cruisers to Yerma and the rest staying in Ertesis to fight off the traitor reinforcements.

This is really tough. The space port is definitely the better target to take out but the question is do we think one company even with the element of surprise can sabotage it successfully. I gonna go on a limb and say I don't think they planed for one of our ships to crash so having the prison being used as bait seems unlikely (but I could be wrong) so that would have a much better chance of success. Ah this is hard. need to sleep on it.

Half of one company. Personally I'd much rather pick the prison since I consider keeping the stranded Shrikes alive to be a higher priority than trying to risk going for maximum strategic gains.
