Well you don't have all the information...

Hell, I'm deliberately withholding the information from you to add to the confusion and mystery that is to come.
I mean true but when the person who wants you in a position of power is telling you to do something and the dude who tried to have you removed is telling you to do the exact opposite, my instinct is to support the person I know won't try to have us shot.

My guess is that Britain is paying one of the Russias so it attacks France and the other will try to contact us. And that maybe that's starting the second coalition.

To be fair I think going to Egypt is just a stupid idea in general and any excuse to go home is worth taking after that crushing victory basically keeps our reputation intact.

Nobody says we have to DO anything with our troops once we get home right?

Yeah, I definitely trust Napoleon more then I trust Robespierre.

On the other hand, I don't trust him enough to not try and stage a Coup. Then again, it's entirely possible with the other Stuff that @Magoose hinted at that he doesn't need us for a Coup, but rather the defense of the Homeland because the War of the Second Coalition has broken out.

So...who knows? I really wish we had just a bit more Info on what's happening right now...

I say we go back, we never wanted to go to Egypt in the first place and if possible we can say we didn't get the letter telling us to keep going

I think what's worth considering is why are our orders either signed by Robes or Napoleon rather than Brian. I think that's why I lean closest to 'coup' over the next coalition war.

If we are getting back, can we change our layout so we put Berthy as our Chief of Staff?

Something I will say is that Brian did not write an order for a very good reason...

Not a coup as you all may think.

But something a bit more personal.

Well that's not ominous at all...

More maybe his wife gave birth and he has to take care of his Child.

...Or...his wife or his kid (or both) died in Childbirth...

Okay, no, I'll stop my mind from going to dark places now!

Let's see. Brian resigned. Napoleon wants us to come take a position as third consul (with himself as first consul, of course) and Robespierre wants us away so he can have a civilian third consul, overturning the ratio of civilian to military consuls.

I mean if we go back and become third consul that opens up the opportunity to support our dear husband in his bid for Emporer and we become the wife and start of a new royal house which might appease rest of Europe if we temper Napys eternal war state of mind
