In Nuclear Fire

Peter would be super conflicted with the idea of building Halo AI. He wouldn't like the idea of them dying or going insane after 4 years.

Yeah, that sucks a lot. Because they would die turning into corrupted code, go crazy, being stored, or selfmutilate themselves to have a longer life, not much longer, though.

Metastability is a thing but it's like a lottery.

There's a lot that AL can do. From Mirror Seas, to Meowfficers. The lore is surprisingly deep for what at first glance looks like just another Waifu-Collectathon

And we aren't speaking about we discovered just today in the new event.

I mean, Azur has always been tech. Sufficiently advanced alien tech at the bottom but tech.

Kantai collection are the magical ship girls

That goes without saying.
Kancolle is more centered over eldritch existences and the weight of emotions in inanimate objects which acquire a soul by that influence.

Azur lane is more raw overtechnology. Do kansen have souls? Maybe or maybe not and they are very advanced simulacrums, but that could be considered a digital soul too.

How's this for a butterfly symbol?

It's awesome! I love the smiling face, it's very "Aisha".

I have to ask, the circuit lines in the left wing have different color than the orange marks in the other wing or it's an optical effect?

The Forerunners managed to do the same "upload a human mind" trick with the results lasting 100000 years without contact with another sapient. Sure, the human tech is imperfect and breaks down quick, but if you just make the Forerunner version there's no problem.

That's UNSC AI yall are thinking of and it's 7 years, not 4.

Forerunner AI however are an entirely different beast. The typical Monitor, a mid level AI IIRC, is enough to competently and efficiently manage entire artificial planets. A Contender - class AI, a compound intelligence made of multiple AI "Metarchies" and the Forerunners most bullshit AI, was capable of prosecuting an entire galactic war on the individual ship level. Said ships were regularly using and abusing Slipspace travel, gravity and dimensional fuckery, drone swarms in the trillions per ship, and more as they fought and both Mendicant Bias and Offensive Bias were capable of managing it all across an entire galaxy.

Contenders are bullshit and I would not be surprised if one was capable of hacking a whole entity given a chance to interface with it, a Monitor alone could probably outhack a Shard.

It actually has both.
Like its quite clearly shown that AL's kansen can hide, or change their animistic features without a rigging (Suruga), and some of them are also capable of combat with ofuda talismans, completely independent from the rigging as well.
So magic is present as well.

On the other hand, if we treat AL anime as a source as well, then giant spirit fox aircraft carrier Kaga is also a thing that exists.

Then he should get genetic data from a Forerunner and try to make an Ancilla instead, the AI lifespan there is pretty big tbh.
Wouldn't a single engineer be better?
They can copy designs they are exposed to, and help in development. While also being able to replicate themselves.
Tehboia certainly has a lot of interesting designs, but besides the drones and flat-pack buildings he has no standardized solutions and equipment.

Oh, my freaking God! That's beautiful!
I'm going to make a wild guess and say you didn't use Autocad to draw it like I did, right?
And that design looks like if the butterfly was grinning. I can already Taylor creating a hologram of it to speak through.

Edit: This story now officially has an icon.
I used Inkscape actually.
It should be pretty similar to Autocad (I think, never used it), as they're both vector based drawing software.

Though I'm not sure if the symbol is finished yet?
Up to you.
tbh I was expecting to have to edit a lot.
Thankfully it's all vector based, so it's relatively easy.

e.g. It has a rather "plain" gradient circular background; that could be improved.
- Maybe a gear/cog shape?
- Or perhaps "binary code" 1s and 0s on the left, and some sort of "bug" pattern on the right? Hexagonal maybe?

Yeah, the left is red, and the right is orange. (FYI rgb,200,10,10 -Vs- rgb,200,50,10)
It does look a bit odd.

After tracing (roughly) the original WIP symbol on the right wing, I simply copied the orange color.
Didn't really think about it tbh.
Something else to edit.

From the red and black background, a devil's tail and horn, and that grin. That logo just conveys that "We are totally not a supervillain gang".
Eh, one man's devil is another's freedom fighter.
This goes double when the established authorities are obviously corrupt to the bone; besides, wasn't "resistance to oppression" one of the reasons behind the U.S. constitution's 2nd amendment?

I do agree it could use half a cog, though.

There's still a lot we don't know about the Girls' creation, but it seems we're about to get more information with this event. The riggs of the Royal Navy and Eagle Union seems to be purely mechanical, while the Iron Blood girls use bion-engineered ones that have their own names and even personalities. The way the riggs of the Sakura Empire work is still a mystery.

Of course they aren't! What are you talking about?

I do like the idea of the cog surrounding the circle, but binary or a bug pattern would make it too busy. I like how clean it is.
Mmmm, maybe a hexagonal pattern for the body? So it's not plain black. How would it look like that?

Having a fancy and intricate sigil is cool and all but keep in mind that there needs to be a simplified version.

something easy to draw or paint and easily recogonizable, for marking territory, and for associates to wear as patches of on arm bands.

In this case a simplified version would be just the black butterfly with a red grin. That should be distinctive enough but easy for normal people to draw.

Maybe just use the binary as some sort of motto, like how some organizations have some Latin. If binary ends up too long, you could use hexadecimal instead.

The motto should probably translate to something like: "We have the technology."

i put in into translate and got "Habemus ad technology". it was translate though, take it with a grain of salt.
I think "technology" it could be translated to "artes technicae" in the plural nominative case, but as a direct object of a transitive verb it'd go to the accusative; thus "habemus artes technicas", or, since it's customary to tack the verb at the end, "artes technicas habemus".

(I've recently brushed up my Latin for a project. Not fluent in any way, but knowing the basic helps to search and check the conjugations on Wikitionary.)

I wonder when Taylor will start designating people do do stuff like guard the water/hand it out? I mean it seems like there's already a system in place, a system that apparently sprang up around them.

As an eleven year old, I think Peter is pretty much obligated to grab a permanent marker and doodle on Tattletale's face while she's unconscious. She definitely needs an "I eat poop" on her cheek with an arrow to her mouth, and a "Stupid face" on her forehead.
