The earring was, so far as we know, mana-based. Plus, our Ethernano organ isn't innately aligned with any deity (I think), nor do we have any reason to think it's become so aligned. Pretty sure that, unless you're a Take Over: God Soul inheritor or something, that's not an innate thing.

I was just thinking that the earring was made by a god and the organ was copied from person heavily influenced by a god from there too... so they could use some kind of sympathetic magic to influence Jade.

Might as well worry about Jade being influenced by the air she breathed on Earthland. Or any other plane. Once you worry about sympathetic magic there really isn't any limits on paranoia.

Is this any good as a picture?

No actually commentary yet on the first few posts just saw this and thought 'OH LOOK Red Jade'

funny considering this is well before that was a known thing... or the fire focus Jade would get.

that is all... will post actual comments when I get enough on paper to make a worthwhile post.

Sympathetic magic isn't exactly super common on Earthland, though I can't say it doesn't exist, because it does. None of the forms seen in canon work subtly, though. They also tend to require more solid connections, like nail clippings, hair, or blood, (except maybe Maguilty Sense), and I don't think they'd work cross-plane.

Or at least, sympathetic magic with a ridiculous range like "cross-plane", and one that works on so weak a bond.

Random question but does anybody think that Fairy Tail god can use Jade's ethernano organ to influence her? Since from the earring we know that inter-planar effects are possible.
The earrings have a communication spell on them which Jade's mana sense interpreted as LINK/TRANSFER. Considering they're mana generators, it's relatively certain that's an actual Blue spell, not Earthland magic.
Even with an open communications channel, Calypso told us not to even bother trying to reply because we wouldn't manage it. Siofra only sent four words. If using an existing LINK enchantment between planes takes them considerable effort, forging a sympathetic link on that scale is probably beyond Earthland gods.

Additionally, while our Ethernano organ was based on Siofra's, Agneyastra modified it quite a bit, after which we developed it in a completely different direction than hers (fire magic). That should considerably weaken any thaumaturgic link to the original within Siofa.

Oh, and if anyone could try sympathetic magic, it'd have to be Siofra herself. The knowledge god has a link to Siofra's mind, not her magic, so he can't influence us via something he never touched.

Lastly, we recently observed the PERMEATE/REMODEL counterspell which can disrupt any Blue magic, including links.

Conclusion: We're not at risk of being influenced from Earthland.

Makes sense for some reason I thought that it was were using an exact copy and also for some reason I thought she got her magik from that God .
I was just mistaken thanks.

Um, that you can vote for multiple options, if you want? Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but you're new and only voted for a single option that hadn't received any votes so far, so I thought it'd be best to check. Not voting for an option is generally counted as a vote against, so your vote was basically an anti-vote against all the other options. Which is fine, so long as that was the intent.
It was not, thanks for letting me know, use to quests only having a single option. As

[X] Tell Nanoha that your rejection might've been just a teensie bit premature. No, it really wasn't, this is fleeting while you're sure that would've ended badly. Neph even said so.

[X] So what did Nanoha think of Neph?
-[X] Incidentally, does Nanoha want to become a demigod?

[X] See if the man you just healed is alright

Well, he can brainwash her into doing it.
I think he'd have to do that carefully. I'm not entirely sure what Mr. Knowledge is doing is entirely on the up-and-up, nor would it be good for him to tip Siofra off to what he's doing. She's a goddess now, which probably makes his little game more complicated, if also more rewarding. She might have more power to resist or get around his spells now, if she knows they're there.

So still working through the posts... only on page 26 due to things like work. I think I know when I will stop and compile my first thoughts... Shortly after royal luck.

The reason for this is because that event is the single most important event in the story I think. It changed the nature of the story I think. Jade Angi is a girl that thought, that thinks, she was an outcast - that no one cared for her and no one would care for her. She starts the story as painfully shy, shown to have body image issues (she denied that all that cute art could be HER) yet at the same time she strongly believe that's the world is not fair and that it should be fixed. She wants to help but believed she had no power.

Before running into that dungeon Ignition was likely going to be about Jade Angi making friends across the multiverse as she deals with the fact that people won't always just let people live at peace. Basically Jade would of ended up in situations where she could not afford confronting her issues and thus move past them and grow as a person.

But with Agneyastra Jade suddenly has the ability to not get involved, and Agneyastra can .if Jade allows it, keep Jade away from that which causes her distress. This actually caused issues where no 'plot' could happen. What it really did, does, is make the story about a choice Jade can make. Either she can be comfortable and avoid going into situations that distress her. Or she can do what the thinks, what she knows is right but get involved in situations and have to face her issues. Plus with friends like Nanoha trying not to help could sour friendships.

Part of you says to look away, to pull back from the pain and distress.
Another says to keep staring, ignore the pain, ignore the distress and find a way to end it for you... end it for them.
Which part do you listen to?

Disclaimer: The above is pasted off my thoughts from my original read through of the story and I can only recall clear details of plot up to Caylpso's death and the fallout thereof.

Yo @Alivaril why are you liking my posts all the way back in the beginning of the thread? You're not doing something crazy like rereading the whole thread are you?

Nah thats me

Early Ignition though - in which we argue to turn into a dragon and kill KB with FOOF. Also in which Jade is like an overexcited pryomanaic puppy when overchanneling.

Not alll of it, but significant portions, yes. >.> And the madness has (mostly) passed.

It did let me remember the mood whiplash inherent in this post, though:
*hesitantly raises hand* Um, for a long time, my signature for this quest did actually say "Not crack for once." However, insidious, subtle, and slow mental penalties like that don't really work on players. If they don't realize it's happening, it's difficult for them to realize what decisions would now be IC and ruins the whole point of subtle mental influence.

No, if something goes wrong here, it will be very obvious.

EDIT: Okay, what the actual fuck.
That's the infamous Royal Roll, just so you know.

Apologies, but I am not really sure what you mean?
The ham is just being annoying, but the point pushed is asking Nanoha is she wants to be a demigod only because believes it's funny. The argument against doing that now is Jade should talk with Agneyastra first: Mom is certainly going to object when she learns Jade intends to sacrifice part of her personal power* and lands to upgrade her soul; checking with Mitra beforehand may be important too: since her personal project is making Nanoha more selfish potentially having access to worship power (thus prayers) is something she should account for dealing with Nanoha's hero complex.

* Agneyastra may be less against it if Nanoha was a retainer like Sidhe, but that goes against the agreement we made with Nanoha's parents

In other news, it appears I gave an early WoG that you wouldn't be able to make mana-generating artifacts due to balance. Ignore that, please — I'm honestly not sure what I was thinking at the time, considering all of Ignition's methods of making mana-generating artifacts have their own costs and are themselves difficult. E2: Oh, that's why. I apparently changed it and I'm looking at the changed version. (See below post)

EDIT: Also, at 1.2k words for Ignition, 4-5k for Consumption, and 700 for Revision, this "Vacation" is unusually productive.

You actually revoked that in chapter 25.5 during the Calypso incident:
A while back (as in, about page 5 of the quest), I declared that it wouldn't be possible for you guys to create mana-generating artifacts, but wasn't exactly happy with the arbitrary restrictions this placed on what you could do. I've since come up with, and implemented, a much better alternative instead. No, I'm not going to tell you what that alternative or set of alternatives is; it'll probably be semi-obvious next to my claim that it'll still maintain game balance and prevent exponential mana acquisition.

TL;DR: There's no longer some invisible force preventing you from making your own mana-generating artifacts. You don't know how to yet, but you may be able to learn. Good luck.

EDIT: I mean, the "invisible force" in question wasn't actually ever used, but it might've been in the future?

On another note, I didn't realize that we have 'multiple days' until Agneyastra's planetary scan finishes and we get to choose where to build our kingdom:
"How long do you think it'll take you to survey the planet?"
"Properly? Multiple days. I should be able to find the various dungeons and Magnostadt within the next one to eight hours."
While planetary mapping is ongoing, adjust the 'pokeball' to be able to safely carry more than one individual at a time. Place Nanoha in the Stalker's cockpit while you and Sidhe travel in the sphere. Travel to whatever location I deem suitable for a new kingdom and drop off fabricators, materials, drones, and a handful of combat droids, including those which can be repurposed to assist in construction.

I highly doubt Agneyastra would object. It's not a permanent deliberating injury or anything. And the incredible, mind shattering boost to Jade's legitimacy as the heir of Agni above all other heirs of Agni is more than worth it. I do expect her to want to have the procedure recorded / immortalized.

@Yog: While it would make a powerful argument with Kladenets and Indira, I'm pretty sure Agneyastra wouldn't share it with the public. Keep in mind what Shiva wrote in her AMAA:
I've seen convincing evidence she will be Sylvester's equal or superior, minus the Rare Skill which combined with his new powers and let him share his divinity.
Why did she explicitly dismiss sharing divinity as a Rare Skill we lack, something we fundamentally can't do? Because it places us under pressure and potentially even at risk. People like Scaglietti might kidnap us with the intention to force us to make them gods.

Edit:
@Filraen: Asking Nanoha isn't because "it's funny" as you claim. Ultimately, it's a question of agency. If the voters, Jade, and Nanoha all are in favor of making Nanoha a demi-goddess, then that's our decision, not Agneyastra's or Mitra's. Defering to the judgement of our AIs would imply a lack of confidence.
Also, there's the parallel to her father's demand when we offered Nanoha a royal-grade artificial vessel. If we ask her and follow through, it's a gift directly from us to her. If we talk with Mitra and she relays our offer instead, it's less a gift and more 'just another powerup'.
Yes, blurting it out now may inconvenience Mitra later. But I'm pretty sure Nanoha will base her view of divinity on examples we encountered (Jade, Indira, Calypso, Siofra) and not some generic view on kami. In other words, the bar isn't set all that high and it's unlikely she'll push herself all that much more just because she counts as a demi-goddess.

Summa summarum, assuming we'll do the sacrifice, I think it's better for our confidence and relationship with Nanoha to ask her directly.

While it may not be shared immediately on MGLN due to concerns about malicious entities targeting Jade or Nanoha, I imagine said immortalizing would probably take the form of a detailed recounting in Jade's eventual holy book biography, and an artistic rendition of the scene, painted on the ceiling of Jade's cathedral throne room.

Does Jade in-character know that? Because as I understand the "not a permanent deliberating injury or anything" was a WoG post from Alivaril*. In any case, I expect Agneyastra not liking the idea of Jade "hurting" herself even if temporarily after hearing her rant in Mom mode not that long ago, worried sick for Jade's safety.

* although it was written in Neph's font/"voice", oddly enough

Still, Jade still has to convince Agneyastra the damage to her Agni Spark is temporal

I'd love Agneyastra be on board with the idea, then we won't have to convince her (because, yes, I want to give divinity to Nanoha). I expect otherwise, however, at least at the beginning.
