I think Noire would be a bit busy to join, but who says that she would have to be there everytime the group meets up? It's likely not everybody will make it to every meet-up anyway, so why not give her one more push? Worst is she'll say no.
I don't think anyone does. It just doesn't come up at all is the thing. Cynthia is at least aware that we know lightning magic but I don't think she's asked questions and it's never come up again.
Anyways, voting time.

As she navigated through the Valmese mausoleum, Tiki couldn't help but stifle a yawn. As far as she was concerned, she had been awake for far too long, and all this darkness surrounding her was making her sleepy. Still, she had a job to do today. And recently, feeling some of the friends she made among the Shepherds dying made it unthinkable to simply rest.
Sensing Nowi pass away had been especially hurtful.
"My lady, are you alright?"
Her reverie was interrupted by the voice of one of her escort. Namely, the Chon'sin guard Say'ri had entrusted her safety to. It was easy to see why her dear friend had picked her in that task; hand near her weapon's hilt, eyes scanning every corner for a possible ambush, she was the very picture of vigilance.
"Ah, it's alright, Kan'ei. Just some dark thoughts."
The dark-haired young woman nodded, as their other companion chimed in.
"Well it isn't surprising. Tombs have that sort of effect on many people."
In contrast, the man seemed a lot more at ease, if overly deferential at time. The ageing Valmese guide (he had introduced himself, but Tiki immediately forgot his name. Farlon-something? She probably should feel bad about this) was leading them through the place, torch in hand (not that she really needed it, but she supposed not everyone was blessed with her senses) and seemingly delighted to be in the company of the legendary Voice of Naga.
"Your grace, I must reiterate what great honour you're bestowing upon us by being here today."
Tiki couldn't help but sigh. This was really something she could do without. "Ah, it's nothing, really."
The remark wasn't even acknowledged. "To think you would bless us with your presence so soon after the war!" he marvelled. "Also, I wanted to take the opportunity to apologize on behalf on my people for the... troubles... our previous sovereign might have visited upon you."
Well, troubles was one way of putting it, she supposed. Still, she didn't blame Valm, or even Walhart, for what happened a few years ago. And in a way, the Conqueror had been right in his rebellion against the divine. Had he won, would the world be safer today? It was impossible to know. In the end, she made her bet on Chrom and Ylisse. Despite the worsening odds, she'd stick to it.
Still, betting was all well and good, but she wasn't above trying to stack the deck in her favour. Which was why she was here today, far away from her home in the Mila Tree, and instead walking down the galleries of the grandiose mausoleum of the ephemeral Valmese Empire, now once again a simple principality among others. And her objective-
"Is it still far?" Kan'ei called their guide. "I feel like we've been here for hours."
"It has been merely fifteen minutes. Do not worry, the resting place of our former lord isn't far away."
- was the sepulture of the late Walhart the Conqueror. More specifically, a certain gem that had apparently been buried with him.
She probably should have done it a long time ago. Though in retrospect, maybe it was a good thing she didn't. Had she remembered to take Vert when the Valmese emperor was defeated, and offered it to Chrom then, the gem would probably be in Plegia's hands by now. In that respect, it was also a small blessing she still had the Star Orb, Azure, in her possession. Without the Shield of Seals, their use would be greatly diminished, but they would have their uses nonetheless. And if - when they managed to retrieve the Fire Emblem from Plegia's clutches... then maybe, just maybe...
"Please, be more vigilant, my lady. It wouldn't do for the Voice of Naga to trip in a dark hallway." Kan'ei lowered her voice. "I also don't trust that man who's leading us. Have you noticed the way he looks at you?"
"I swear, you fret as much as Say'ri sometimes."
Silently though, she couldn't help but agree with her bodyguard assessment. While the Valmese tone and body language was calculated to project obsequiousness, his gaze when he believed she wasn't looking was almost predatory. If this turned to be a trap, then it was quite possible Vert was already gone from this place. Still, she had to be sure. And if worst come to worst, well.
It wouldn't be her first battle. Nor her last.
The group continued their progress, before finally entering a vast room, statues of imposing knights standing guard over an open sarcophagus. There was no trace of a body, or the gem.
Unfortunate, if not entirely unexpected.
"I have to say," announced their guide, all trace of deference replaced in his voice by a triumphant tone "when I heard you delivered yourself at our doorstep, I couldn't believe it. But here we are. Master Grima will reward me greatly for this."
The man produced a dark tome from his robes, as Kan'ei drew her sword, assuming a defensive stance to protect her. The eye of Grima was displayed on its cover for the world to see, while plaintive groans coming from the nearby hallways told Tiki quite a number of Risen were on their way too. Strangely enough, her first thought was that Say'ri would never let her heard the end of it if she ever learned of today. Her second was to wonder how many Grimleal found their way in Valm. Did they come right after Walhart's defeat? Questions for later.
"Now, give Azure to me, and I'll make your deaths as painless as possible. This deep underground, there is no hope for you to fly away, oracle of the false goddess."
That much was true, Tiki supposed. Then again, the large room gave her more than enough space to assume her draconic form. Good enough, as far as she was concerned. As the Risen began to enter the funeral grounds, her mind turned to her friends. Was this how Nowi died? Chrom? Panne?
... could she have saved them, had she been there?
She would never know. All she could do now was to avenge them, even by proxy. Play her part, and make things right, one way or another. And think of them the next time she'll gaze upon the stars. Her whole body began to glow, as she was bathed in Naga's essence.
"Well."
A divine light engulfed the room as her appearance began to change, and the unmasked Grimleal recoiled in fear, the false sense of security his reinforcements gave him all but shattered. A humourless smile formed on Tiki's lips.
"This might get unpleasant."
Regular update coming this week-end, probably sunday.
You wake up drenched in sweat. Was that... a dream? It felt nothing like the images that usually haunted your sleep though. Did you just have a vision of Tiki? And if so, was it from the past, the future, or was it happening right now? Was she in danger?
You take a few minutes to gather your thoughts. It is hard to recall the details of the dream, but it didn't feel like an omen of death. Whatever trouble the Voice of Naga found herself into, you have to believe she'll be able to overcome them - and if that vision came from Naga herself, you certainly hope she wouldn't be so cruel as to show you a fate you'd have no hope of changing. But while your memories of the dream are blurry, there is one thing that seems imprinted in your mind.
The Fire Emblem.
Truth be told, you don't know much about it. It was one of the treasures of Ylisse, gifted to the first Exalt by Naga herself, but it was stolen before you were born, that night when your aunt Emmeryn was murdered. You never felt the need to ask about the relic; in fact you're not entirely sure what it looks like, though you think it might have the shape of a shield. Yet your dream seemed to stress its significance. Or where the gems the important part? You hold back a groan. As if you didn't have enough things to worry about.
Still, you may have to look into it. Hopefully your schedule won't disagree too much. On the plus side, this dream seems to have invigorated you. You are wide awake despite the early hour, and brimming with energy. You're just not sure how to use it.
[] Try to find out more about the Fire Emblem. If this artefact is truly significant, you have to at least learn the basics. You're sure there must be some books in the library covering the subject, and aunt Lissa probably knows something as well. At the very least, it might give you an inkling on why Naga deems it important. [will automatically use one action for the option Spend time in the library. Scholarly and magical actions provide better results for this turn only] [] Learn more about its disappearance. That night may have been one of Ylisse's biggest tragedy, yet you know little about it. It was never your father's favourite topic, for obvious reasons. Still, you can ask around to the Shepherds in order to get a few missing pieces of the puzzle. [will automatically use one action for the option Visit on the frontlines. Physical actions provide better result for this turn only] [] Focus on yourself. There is no need to stress yourself over something you have little control on. If Naga has plans for you and the Fire Emblem, you're sure things will become clearer in due time. The best thing you can do is make sure you'll be ready by then. [+1 free action for this turn only]
The end of summer is deceptively quiet. The mood have been improved after the Plegian offensive was halted, but the same thought is shared by everyone: this is a reprieve, not the end. Virion moved his headquarters toward the frontlines, bringing many Shepherds with him. Henry, Libra, Vaike, Ricken, Cherche and Kellam go join those already holding the line. Even the regency council is fragmented. Mother is constantly in and out of Ylisstol alongside Cordelia, Duke Themis went back to his war-torn lands to organize a relief effort, and Duke Karan remains in Virion's council. Caught between hope and despair, all of Ylisse holds its breath.

Pick six (6) actions. For each choice, you may also ask one of the present children to accompany you. They might refuse, or external circumstances might prevent them to attend, but there's a chance the one picked will be present, and might help and/or benefit from the chosen action. Do note that while you can pick someone for Visit on the frontlines, external actors (also known as parents) might veto it.
Special: with many Shepherds on the frontline, some actions are only available if Visit on the frontlines is selected.
[] Visit on the frontlines: making an appearance on the border could be a morale boost for the soldiers. It would also be the occasion for you to see the situation with your own eyes. Also, there are a few people there you wouldn't mind seeing.
[] Path of Radiance: your training with the Marth einherjar went pretty much as well as you could have hoped. In order to reach the limits of what your family style has to offer, there is no choice but to keep it up.
[] Ten thousand swings: Lon'qu taught you most of what there is to know about the chon'sin style, with nothing but the most advanced techniques eluding you still. But in order to master it, there is no secret: swing, and swing again. Repetition is key, insists your mentor.
[] One with the blade: now that Say'ri is back, you don't want to let little things such as her being sent on the frontlines get in the way of her teaching you more. Needs visit on the frontlines.
[] Death from above - sword edition: as you discovered during your previous training, sword-fighting while in the air is really, really hard. Well, you didn't follow the path of the sword because it was easy. All you need is to find a way with Cu to make it work.
[] Death from above - magic edition: then again, magic is also pretty hard to use when flying. Your aim is ruined, it's almost impossible to focus, and the pages of your tomes kept getting messed up. You have to figure out something.
[] Eyes in the sky: Cherche and her wyvern knights have little time for drills these days. But accompanying them on a patrol could be a formative experience. A rather risky one though, and you'd have to convince more than a few in order to be allowed to. Needs visit on the frontlines.
[] Trodding the earth: alternatively, you could ask Sully to come along during one of her own patrol. There are things you can only see from the ground, after all. Needs visit on the frontlines.
[] Avengers, assemble!: with no less than five people invited to your training sessions with Kjelle and Severa, things are bound to become lively. Hopefully this won't spiral down into utter chaos.
[] Harder, better, faster, stronger: of course, you could also work on your physical condition on your own. More is always better, right?
[] Dark arts for dark times: recent exchanges left you... uncertain in your choice of teacher, but after going this far, you might as well stick with him. Needs visit on the frontlines.
[] A time of secrets: with Mother only occasionally able to attend, and two dukes out of four called away by other duties, the Regency Council is bound to operate on a new dynamic. What it will be, only time will tell.
[] In the thick of it: with Virion and his staff joining the front, the only way to still attend the war councils is to follow. With the war entering a new phase, it might be more important than ever. Needs visit on the frontlines.
[] In mankind's darkest hour: Ylisse is now fighting its third war in fifteen years, and lost two beloved Exalts in the same period. The population is understandably weary and worried. You don't pretend you could change that all by yourself, but maybe having the crown princess walking down the streets of Ylisstol would be a relief for some - and a nightmare for your guards, but you think it might be worth it.
[] Talking to the dukes: beside your mother and your aunt, you can't say you know much about the other members of the regency council. Yet those people might be the ones you'll have to rely on later as an Exalt. Spending some time to start knowing even one of them better could be a precious boon, and perhaps it could also be an interesting learning opportunity.
-[] Duke Themis: the father of Maribelle is an eminent lawmaker and politician, wielding a considerable influence among his peers. He is also accutely aware of the situation on the frontlines, his lands being threatened directly. Needs visit on the frontlines.
-[] Duke Lurelin: his wealth might end up a decisive factor in Ylisse's survival should the war be there to last. He is also well-travelled, and from what you heard always eager to talk about his foreign trips.
-[] Duchess Arnelle: while it is likely the fate of this conflict will be decided on land, her experience of sea battle makes her a valuable ally to counter plegian raiders... and to maintain contacts and supply routes with Valm. Though you're likely to be out of your depths here.
-[] Duke Karan: the grizzled veteran has recently been appointed as commander of the ylissean forces, though it remains to be seen what the status of the allied armies will be. Nonetheless getting to know the one tasked to win a war for you can't hurt. Needs visit on the frontlines.
[] Spend time in the library: it's been a long time since you went there, required readings from Maribelle excluded. Still, as new questions begin to appear, maybe some answers would be found in these walls.
[] Any specific topic in mind?
[] Seek informations on the Fire Emblem
[] House of healing: the summer battles brought their fair share of wounded, and while only a few of them are transported to Ylisstol, it's still a challenge for the local temples to keep up. Opening up a palace wing to welcome them might be a significant help, albeit a time-consuming project (and probably a security risk).
[] Magic of the card: while the speed at which you can summon the einherjar and its duration are reaching the limits of what you believe to be possible, you never know what extra training can provide. Also you think there's room for improvement on the consistency of the spirit; its ghostly appearance suggest a lack of durability in the summon. -[] Train the summon's duration
-[] Train the spirit's materialization
[] Tales of Altea: you now have a spirit holding most of the Hero King memories as a potential conversation partner. And it's hard to suppress your morbid curiosity when you think about the hard times he went through, and how they would compare with the current days.
[] A blade to save the world: giving Falchion its edge was the first step. But if you truly want to be worthy of the legendary blade, you still have much to discover about the Tooth of Naga.
[] A family by choice: you've come to appreciate the relaxing nature provided by the Justice Cabal reunions - and the opportunity it gave you to support your sister. Hopefully it can help Nah and Morgan too. Also, Owain wants to recruit?
[] Double down on your lessons: now more than ever, you cannot afford to take it easy.

[] Write-in: thinking hard about it, maybe there's something else you could do?
[] Special - slack off: given the circumstances, you can't help but disagree with some of your tutors over what you really should be focusing on.
Urgh. Hope I didn't forget anything.
While I'm at it, I wanted the opinion of the voters. @Prodigal Knight reminded me that due to the way I set up this quest, it's often hard to interact with different characters when they're not part of the "endless training montage" I've got going. Now, some of them manage to break through from time to time (and the training montage isn't actually endless) but it's a limitation that can be hard to overcome nonetheless.
Right now, a potential solution that could be implemented would be that each turn, the voters get to put forward the name of a character they want some interaction with. While there wouldn't be any mechanical gain from it, it'll help bring some forgotten characters into the story... or just a way to have a fan-favourite show up, that works too.
Thoughts?
Oh, also, you did it on your own last time, but due to the ever growing list of actions, I think those turn votes will have to be by plan from now on, for simplicity's sake.
I get the feeling that this vote is really gonna decide our path. Like, do we want to go maximum sword, or more balanced like Robin? I'm leaning towards maximum sword myself, but like I'm making a plan with all of this stuff.

My usual set of recommended actions. I'd really like to work Dark Magic in, but it's already loaded with too many. We need to drop two more somewhere and I can't even go all in on Swording as is. Regency Council and War Council as usualy, Avengers because that is our responsibility, Darkest Hour because who else is going to be able to do it as well as us right now, family by choice because they are important, but we have a boost to all physical learning which means we'd ideally want all the Sword actions, the patrolling actions, and the workout, but we just don't have the actions with our other responsibilities. Also I really feel like there's a large developmental scene behind taking Henry this round and someone finding out.
Like, I really want to take that, inefficiency or not.
But adding the other sword action and Dark Arts brings it up to 9 actions when we have 5 this round at base, we'd need another four actions. I'd rather not drop classes this round, but I'd be willing if people have opinions on which ones (*looks at Tactics*) but then we'd still probably need to drop an action or two somewhere. Ten Thousand Swings maybe, but again it's getting a boost this turn.
I assume we have base 6 actions, with a 7th depending on if we want to do anything about our vision or not. Considering that not doing anything gives us an extra action I'm sticking with that line of thought.
Anyways, @Macros can you confirm the number of actions we actually have, also did I get the bonus application stuff right? Did I miss anything or miss apply them?
As for the planning in question?
Choosing to ask the Shepherds will bring us to the frontlines, the following actions are available if we do so:
-One with the blade
-Eyes in the sky
-Trodding the earth
-In the thick of it
-Dark arts for dark times
-Talking with the dukes
--Duke Themis
--Duke Karan
The physical bonus will likely synergize with:
-One with the blade (Needs frontline)
-Ten thousand swings
-Path of Radiance
-Death from above: sword edition
-Eyes in the sky (Needs frontline)
-Trodding the earth (Needs frontline)
-Avengers, assemble!
-Harder, better, faster, stronger
While researching the Fire Emblem isn't required to take any actions this turn, the magical and scholarly bonus should synergize with:
-Basic learning actions
-Death from above: magic edition
-Dark arts for dark times (Needs frontline)
-In the thick of it (Needs Fronline)
-Magic of the card
-Tales of Altea
-A blade to save the world
With the big list out of the way, the way our actions are split we are better off specializing one way or the other. Either down the path frontline stuff or non frontline study.
Yeah I'm not a big fan of skipping lessons this turn either since we've had to a lot recently and people are starting to talk. Best one to skip if we felt we had to might be tactics since I don't think that was helping all that much.
Lot of important choices again, I'm on the fence on most but those seem like good suggestions ShadowAngelBeta. I kinda want to stick path of radiance in there somewhere if possible though I guess we are further along on that style than the others anyway and if something happens to our other teachers we should still have card Marth so..
If I had to chose two of the ones you suggested to take off, assuming we aren't skipping lessons this time, I'd probably take off mankind's darkest hour and a time of secrets as they aren't physical so no bonus
Or chose focus on yourself for the extra free action though we don't visit the frontlines that way
Anyways, @Macros can you confirm the number of actions we actually have, also did I get the bonus application stuff right? Did I miss anything or miss apply them?
So five with the investigation and seven without? Or is it five with the investigation and six without? Since our basic action economy remains listed at six without taking bonuses in account I'm just a bit confused.

Okay so I'm thinking there are 3 paths open to us right now: focus knowledge, focus physical, or focus self. To give us an idea where we want to go I made some template plans, keeping in mind the focus knowledge and physical plans give a bonus to the respective aligned actions but we have an extra two actions on focus self.
I didn't put skip lessons in any of the possible plans. Also placed emphasis on action location, in focus physical we are already going to frontlines so most options chosen are for frontlines whereas none for focus knowledge or self. I'm assuming for plans that have down either "Try to find out more about fire emblem" or "Learn more about its disappearance" another actions doesn't need to be put down for those actions to happen. Hope these are viable

Yeah I wasn't really sure what to put for the knowledge plan. I feel okay about the other two but also open to what other people think.
The bonds of yesterday: It has been a long time since you've had all your friends in one place. You've all grown older. So many things have happened since you all saw each other last, so many things keep happening... and yet that's no excuse to let bonds that have worn thin wear thinner. Though your carefree days have ended you can still enjoy each other's company, even if for only a moment.

-[X] A time of secrets: with Mother only occasionally able to attend, and two dukes out of four called away by other duties, the Regency Council is bound to operate on a new dynamic. What it will be, only time will tell.
-[X] In mankind's darkest hour: Ylisse is now fighting its third war in fifteen years, and lost two beloved Exalts in the same period. The population is understandably weary and worried. You don't pretend you could change that all by yourself, but maybe having the crown princess walking down the streets of Ylisstol would be a relief for some - and a nightmare for your guards, but you think it might be worth it.
-[X] A blade to save the world: giving Falchion its edge was the first step. But if you truly want to be worthy of the legendary blade, you still have much to discover about the Tooth of Naga. -[X] A family by choice: you've come to appreciate the relaxing nature provided by the Justice Cabal reunions - and the opportunity it gave you to support your sister. Hopefully it can help Nah and Morgan too. Also, Owain wants to recruit?
A bit worried that researching/finding out would become a one time thing, but eh this plan has all that I wanted. Best to focus inwards and bond some more.
So, right now we have two Focus Self, one Focus Knowledge and one Focus Physical. I think it's safe to say things can go either way rather easily at this point.
Some book keeping stuff before I sort some vote stuff out.
@Macros our character sheet logs our Cho'sin style at rank C- however it should be C+ as of update 2-21.
Now, time for vote stuff!
First off I'm a little surprised that some of you are taken with that write-in of mine. Wasn't exactly expecting support or interest, but you know what? Cool enough, maybe I'll think of more later, when our actions aren't as restrained or limited.
Now though, we should still remember to bring along our friends, and thus I'll be going through @AzuraNyx's plans and assigning who I believe to be reasonable. As always if anyone has comments or thinks differently please remember to say something and propose alternatives.
Time for the childrening!
[] Plan Focus Self: This Time With Children
-[] Focus on yourself. There is no need to stress yourself over something you have little control on. If Naga has plans for you and the Fire Emblem, you're sure things will become clearer in due time. The best thing you can do is make sure you'll be ready by then. [+1 free action for this turn only]
-[] Ten thousand swings
--[] Add: Owain
-[] The bonds of yesterday: It has been a long time since you've had all your friends in one place. You've all grown older. So many things have happened since you all saw each other last, so many things keep happening... and yet that's no excuse to let bonds that have worn thin wear thinner. Though your carefree days have ended you can still enjoy each other's company, even if for only a moment.
--[] Present: Everyone, hopefully.
-[] Avengers, assemble!
--[] Present: Kjelle, Severa, Nah, Owain, Noire, Inigo, Cynthia.
--[] Focus: Inigo - With the addition of Inigo, there are now four of you on the path of swords. You should help him along and get his bearings, maybe you'll learn something as well.
-[] A time of secrets
--[] Add: Yarne
-[] In mankind's darkest hour
-[] A blade to save the world
--[] Summon: Marth
-[] A family by choice
--[] Present: Owain, Cynthia, Nah, Morgan
--[] Focus: Nah
[] Plan Focus Physical: Yes, we did bring some children
-[] Learn more about its disappearance. Physical actions provide better result for this turn only]
-[] One with the blade
-[] In the thick of it
-[] Talking to the dukes
--[] Duke Karan
-[] Avengers, assemble!
--[] Present: Kjelle, Severa, Nah, Owain, Noire, Inigo, Cynthia.
--[] Focus: Inigo - With the addition of Inigo, there are now four of you on the path of swords. You should help him along and get his bearings, maybe you'll learn something as well.
-[] Death from above - sword edition
--[] Add: Cynthia
[] Plan Focus Knowledge: Nominal amounts of learning with the children
-[] Try to find out more about the Fire Emblem
-[] A time of secrets
--[] Add: Yarne
-[] In mankind's darkest hour
-[] Magic of the card
--[] Train the summon's duration
-[] A blade to save the world
--[] Summon: Marth
-[] A family by choice
--[] Present: Owain, Cynthia, Nah, Morgan
--[] Focus: Nah
