After that, well, things can go a number of ways. Too many to really plan for. I hope this leads to team training so that we can give her something she can do and see that is effort in keeping her and everyone safe.
I very much doubt that team training is happening right now since Lumen and Creme have their own lives and getting together with the team wasn't part of this weeks vote.

No, what we absolutely should do is introduce Ada to Juniper Arc to get Lee's target in touch with the Dangerous Person Division, the force whose entire job is dealing with people like Boriah Lee. It's fine if there's another vote for where to go from here after this, but I'd feel a lot safer if we included that now.

For Jaune to have an idea of why Boriah Lee is coming to Vale and not encourage Ada to share what she knows with the people tasked with bringing him down is utterly irresponsible. Not to mention one incredibly important reason we have to want to see Ada talk to Juniper, which I'm not even sure I should bring up since it's all OOC information that Jaune knows nothing about. It's all in The Nobody interludes, but I don't know if I should just spell it out. As a hint, consider who has spoken to who.

@Prok, do you have a policy on meta-gaming?

Ah, well shit. I was afraid I'd probably derp up the voting process in some capacity. Hopefully I do it right this time. I'm not new to quests or fanfiction in any capacity or even Spacebattles, but you're quite right that I'm a neophyte of SV. Thanks for correction on how one actually votes and thanks as well for the warm welcome.

Been very thoroughly enjoying this quest so far and eagerly waiting for the next moratorium to break so I could participate. Glad to be here. Keep up the superb work and best of luck working with the limitations of the medium, God knows I try.

On that note:

Ada's in a fragile, vulnerable place right now guys. She needs to know she has support and that she's wanted here. And we need to keep her close (and as functional bait) if we ever want a good shot at tearing this fleshsculpting psychopath a new one. Kinda like what he does to other people, now that I think about it.

Also, as a quick side note, it might be best not to throw her in over her head too much with the Process or focus on making her one for herself since she herself has no idea what benefit this might provide, nor are we certain she can grasp it like we can. That and we might not even be able to follow through on such a promise for at least a bit.

[X] Plan: Keep Calm and Carry on

It's barely even metagaming, honestly.

Getting in contact with Juniper is, to be perfectly honest, a ballache, because Scrolls can't really contact other Scrolls from that far away- they're really only useful for intra-City communication, so any kind of attempt to get in touch would require a visit to the CCTS, like, the big one, which is time-consuming and expensive. Once you did get in touch with her though, she'd definitely figure out something was going on because nobody contacts her one on one if they can help it and who's that girl sitting next to Jaune and you want to talk to who?!

Granted, once you've brought her up to speed, she'll be more than happy to help you.

The fact she'd just hand the phone to her boss sitting two feet away trying to enjoy a nice coffee after finding out why her brother wants to talk to him would be a huge surprise, and definitely bring up several questions about the 'classified' work she does and how much of it involves hunting down the human equivalents of the fucking Nuckelavee, but that's Future Jaune's problem.

... Wait, no, all of this is Future Jaune's problem.

To be specific, the part I'm mostly focused on is finding some way to let Ada know that ROY DOYLE A MASSIVELY SCARRED GIANT OF A MAN IS ALIVE AND LOOKING FOR HIS DAUGHTER.
When the barmaid just draws in closer, Juniper puts hers out, palms up, and after a moment receives the hands she asked for. Her aura, a light, somehow dusty blue, flows over the girl. For a moment, it only illuminates the horrors inflicted upon her, before brightening further, just washing them out of existence.

Once the light fades, the girl is pristine.

Taking her hands back, she lightly brushed her fingers over new lips, opening them slightly and feeling the cold air of a gasp between them, before she breaks down crying again, throwing herself at your partner.
We know from The Nobody interludes that this information is available to the DPD since the barmaid survived and was last seen desperately clinging to Juniper Arc, so my question is how we get it to Ada.
... Wait, no, all of this is Future Jaune's problem.
Well, screw that guy. If Future Jaune wanted fun and games, then he should've had Past Jaune pick a different crossover.
Somewhere in the middle of your flight, it changes shape again, spines of your soul gouging out the ground to pull you forward, each movement adding more speed as you twist to ready yourself for something that's gonna be really funny if you pull it off. Curling into a ball first, before the ginger man can react, you flip around, suddenly throwing your legs out completely straight, and driving your heels into his chin and nose.

You just dropkicked a man from halfway across a dockyard.

You were right. That was funny.
Like this one. This Future Jaune knows how to have a good time.

Pretty sure Ten Meti wouldn't have seen it as a problem and tried to use it as a teaching moment, then gotten frustrated when Lee tried to actually do anything that didn't involve being part of a lesson and killed him with that rusty-ass sword.

[X] Plan Sivantic
I like how this vote looks far better, tbh.

Though, could you @Sivantic maybe add a bit for physical contac or something? An offered hand would be nice.

My bad, it seems I got some plans confused with each other.
I confused Keep Calm with Appeal to Logic.
With this in mind...
Both Sivantic and Keep Calm seem like good choices, though on closer inspection, I prefer to go with...
[X] Plan: Keep Calm and Carry on
-[X] Hold out your hand and offer it for her to take. Something as simple as reaching out to another person is a good start.
-[X] For now, play along by trying to 'convince' her to go to Beacon. Use the presence of veteran Huntsmen like Ozpin and Glynda as examples for why she should go to Beacon instead of Haven.
-[X] Introduce her to Blue, Bracket, and Cell. Tell her a little about the Process.
-[X] Ask if she'd like to meet your family. Tell her a little about what they do, such as Juniper working for the DPD.

[X] Plan Sivantic
-[X] Put forth what Jaune thinks she is doing in the air, no hiding: She wants to leave because of Boriah Lee, right?
-[X] Remind Ada that Beacon has Glynda in it, Glynda is terrifying.
-[X] Show her the Process. If possible, offer her a companion Process regardless of where she goes. Tell her about Cell, and his plans for it.
-[X] Tell her we want to stay a team, because we are friends, and we like being friends. And that means watching out for each other.
It's been in the lead for a while now, but did anyone have anything they'd like to add to this?
When was the last time she ate, slept, cleaned? She looks really out of it and she may have forgotten one of those. Helping her take care of herself helps calm her down.
I think taking her somewhere to get food would be a good way to calm her down and get her talking.

Getting her permission to tell other people about her connection to Boriah Lee would also be good, we've kept it from our family so far because "It's not our place to tell", so changing that would be good.

dragging several bags of groceries with her

I think that considering this, it's fairly safe to say she's been holed up in her house, more than likely neglecting herself.
If personal experience with mental breakdowns is at all applicable (which it isn't always, some people handle stress in very different ways, I realize this), then she's running away from reality to a safe haven, i.e. her home, in a hopes of establishing some sense of security and control, since that is exactly what her life lacks at the moment.

Also, as a small point of consideration: bringing her out to eat is nice, but she's got several bags of groceries she needs to get home. God forbid if there's anything frozen in there. When someone's in a precarious situation like this, even little things like your ice cream melting because you were too dumb to remember you had it and instead went into that nice warm coffee shop can feel way bigger than it actually is.

My recommendation? Talk with her, right here. Try to establish a link, make it obvious that we're here for her. If we're lucky and/or socially deft enough (HA), she might even be willing to invite us into her home when she goes to drop off her groceries and we kindly escort her home. That is, of course, if she feels she trusts us enough to let her into one of the few places she feels even semi-safe right now. That would place us somewhere she feels more secure talking about something so personal. At the very least, the moment where she invites us or rejects us could help serve as a measuring stick for exactly where we stand with her.

And on the off chance that she literally and figuratively let's us in we could maybe, just maybe, get her to speak a bit more frankly about herself and what is hounding her psyche. That could be the key to helping her cope and recover. Just talking can do a lot. Remember, she lives on her own.

Because good God does this girl need someone to trust and confide in. Not a protector, but somebody she can share this ass-ton of trauma with. It's obviously weighing on her and living your entire child-to-teenage life with something like that can really mess a person up. She doesn't even need someone that can relate, just someone that will listen and that she feels secure in confiding in.

Inb4 this is me secretly plotting and setting up my ArcAda ship. Which I quite possibly am, because I'm a sucker for broken birds.

Wow. That ended up being way longer than intended.
Tl;dr, we should probably try and take this back to her place where she feels more secure or at the very least just try to communicate the key points we all seem to be agreeing on, even if the methods differ.

While I would like to add more, Prok did say that we cannot micromanage Jaune either.

@Prok is what I have fine or should I add more?

I'm pretty sure Prok was talking about stuff like this:
- [x] Double check nonthreatening body language: be close without crowding her, be available for hand holding or hugs without looking like she has to do anything: arms near sides at slight angle, palms out, fingers loose but not splayed, right hand slightly ahead of left.
Something like "Help Ada carry her groceries home and talk to her there" should be perfectly fine.

Threadmarked posts by the OP(as in threadmarked at posting time) should usually trigger regardless of word count.

Straight up?

It'll slip their minds.

I gots me some plans for Papa Doyle getting to Vale, and they don't involve an early warning.

Edit: Come to think of it, now I'm curious how some of the other crossovers would've handled the Boriah Lee problem. And if North Star, Pillar, or Aberrant would've been the most cathartic for Ada.
Hokuto No Jaune would actually have a pretty bad time with Lee. When your entire mode of combat is just acupuncture ultraviolence, a man whose nervous system resembles nothing like a normal healthy human being's is gonna be pretty hard to fight.

Pillar Jaune basically is Boriah Lee. Hell, Ada would probably hate you right off the bat, just because the two of them are so similar in powerset. Which, granted, there would be a very good reason for that, considering Lee was originally designed for the Pillar route, and I just shoehorned him in here with some minor tweaks.

Aberration Jaune...

He'd have fun. Maybe not by our definition of fun, but, he'd have fun.

Jaune Ten Meti would try not to make the mistake Nella made, and actually, separate the head from the shoulders instead of just stabbing him. Like, it's not gonna do him much good, but it's the principle of the thing.

You can add more if you want, but what you have is pretty good.

This is what I was talking about, yes. That kind of minutiae is just going to be ignored because honestly it really wouldn't serve a purpose in the narrative.

I mean-

Look, I appreciate minor details, but there's such a thing as too minor, you know?

Regardless, the vote's fine, but adding on something else can't steer you too far wrong. That's a barefaced lie and I know it, but it'll be fine, probably.

Anyway, vote ends at 6 PM GMT, er, today, I suppose.

So which version of Jaune would have had the best chance/easiest time against Boriah Lee?

I'm going to assume 'Mob' Jaune. Lee is someone he'd have minimal compunction killing, and is liable to bring him up to 100% with ease.

Jaune dealing with being a killer afterwards/people seeing how easily he can kill someone really nasty would be the Conflict there I imagine. Although Boriah does have those basilisk hacks that could be really what the hell to deal with even then.

So which version of Jaune would have had the best chance/easiest time against Boriah Lee?

Dishonored

With some creative employment of powers and gadgets, could quite possibly tear Boriah apart, though he could likely stick himself back together again just as easily. It's a toss up given the nature of his powers.
Legend Of Zelda
Depends on how many fireballs and bombs you can drop on him or if Jaune can land a good roundhouse slash to the throat. Fully charge that and off with his putty head.
Shadow Of Mordor
Wraith magic the hell out his brain, brand him, tear his mind to splinters. Voila, putty potato vegetable murderer. It depends on who lays their hands on the other's face first.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Could lead to a legendary showdown of pure will on both sides. Giga Drill Breaker could end up pureeing Boriah, which might do the job if it lands. There will be lots of blood and screaming though, on both sides.
Preacher
Literally tell him to sit down and die. Might be the quickest, easiest one, depending on if Boriah has any defenses or resistances to the word of God.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Basically evenly matched, especially considering this is the crossover he was meant for and probably was meant to be the long-term rival to Pillar!Jaune, or at least an arc antagonist.
Fist Of The North Star
Hokuto no Jaune would get pulverized unless he went out of his way to explode Boriah's head, not taking into account his screwy anatomy, which does not comply with normal human anatomy. In short, Jaune likely gets steamrolled unless creativity and outside help are utilized, or liberal author fiat is employed.
Kill Six Billion Demons
May or may not be one of the best straight up match ups, since the action of Cutting severs everything, right down to reality. No amount of Semblance soul BS will circumvent that level of bushido iaido dimension/god slicing BS. One good hit after enough training would mean one dead Boriah. He's still human after all, even if barely.
The Zombie Knight
I forget, is this one a reaper or undead servant? Because either way, Boriah still wouldn't be able to kill Jaune. In the latter case, deforming his body would make things difficult, but Boriah would not have fun trying to keep him down. On the flip side, Jaune might have trouble doing the same to Boriah unless he's a Reaper.
Mob Psycho 100
It would take some build up and possibly a mutilated or dead friend or two, but once he would get going, he'd probably atomize Boriah. It would be a Brooklyn curbstomp after that point. This and the word of God are my vote for outright easiest win, though this one would likely require more bloodshed and feels, by the very nature of the work it draws from.

So that's my verdict. What do you think? Is it in line? Realistic? Overly simplistic or too long? Or am I missing something? Feel free to criticize or correct me.

Abberant, y'know, the psycopathic, soulless, soul-devouring monsters? Jaune gets to be one of those guys, and his unique power that spits in the face of all goodness and hope in the world is the power to open portals to what seems to be a universe of sun demons.

Like, demonic entities which are also suns, it's not pretty for anyone on the receiving end of them.

Okay, so we put that under possible bloodbaths then. Probably one of the potentially messier match-ups for this game theory- I mean death battle- I mean- ah fuck it. You know what I mean.

I just read the 'what if' scenarios since I hadn't caught up on those and I've not had the pleasure of reading Zombie Knight. Still it would be... interesting.
