New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

-----------------------

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

Achille Adephos [1 turn from breaking through]. Remains at 9th Heavenstage. Fortuitous encounter, meeting a Snow-Eyed Desert Fox. Such creatures are known for their powerful dream realms, in which cultivators often waste and die, dreaming forever under their glare. Achille managed to survive, and used the subjective century of time within the dream realm as experience to solidify his Dao. He is close to breaking through.
Better than I had feared, worse than I had hoped. I better ask for some cultivation boosts soon, since it seems poor Achille is lagging behind.

(2) Your overall Fate. Kind of an amalgam of all of the omake you've written. As a rule, characters with more Omake are Heaven's favored least disfavored and get all kinds of neat bonuses. Obviously this makes sense - writing is usually from the perspective of main characters who are favored by heaven, therefore those with more writing about them are more main-character-like and hence favored as well.
It occurs to me that Savvas is essentially a Secondary/Supporting character.

Or in RPG terms, one of those guys who gives you a bunch of fetch quests.

Ambrus Nike - [3 turns from breaking through] - Despite his terrible injuries, he cultivated safely and well. He managed to reach the 9th Heavenstage, and was hired to help settle new Clan mortals in the Uncast Molds. Despite surviving, his mortals were ambushed by a number of bandits, and almost half died. He has had some trouble gaining sufficient contributions points to gain the materials he needs to prepare to advance.
Decided to take a "turn" off to see how nike fares without my "finger" on the scales. He did pretty well despite getting no bonuses. Guess ill write an omake to reward him. :p

Whew, i'm glad that i posted my new omake after the good seed posts. Based on the recent turn, i think i really need to direct that Fate buff to make sure he makes it intact next turn

Glad about the formation being accepted, hopefully it'll keep our 1st and 2nd Heavestage cultivators safe. New problem for me is coming up with ideas for more Omakes.

@occipitallobe i set my new goal for turn 4 as searching for ways to enhance Qing Yun, would that count as something like my Formation Roll since Qing Yun is a Spirit Beast? Or is it treated as a personal fate roll thing since he's with Xiao Yi ?

As always, if I've missed someone, missed an omake request, etc, let me know. I expect if I'm 95% accurate I'll make 1 or 2 mistakes each time - there are a lot of Good Seeds.

Now..

First up - Good Seeds from last time...
-----------------------

Acis Drivas
- 4th Heavenstage. Crippled. Went into Cannibal territory to rescue a kidnapped mortal woman's children. Was ambushed by Qi Condensation Cannibal in the 8th Heavenstage, losing his left arm and right hand. Failed to rescue the children who were already slain, permanently crippled - escaped after being rescued to Augustus Servius.

Augustus Servius - DEAD. Was assigned to Acis Drivas, who went into Cannibal territory foolhardily. Managed to rescue his ally, but was too slow to escape. Stood against the enemy and held them off for nearly thirty minutes, but already crippled as he was he was killed and consumed.

Amaranth Castellanos - [3 turns from breaking through] Remains at 9th Heavenstage. Spectacular luck, being contracted to kill many toads. One had eaten a large magical boot full of Spirit Stones, and fused with the item to form something new. When the toad was killed it granted a pair of Toad-Foot Boots in the shape of flippers, allowing Amaranth to jump many times his height, and land safely.

Aretaphila Myia - Excellent progress. Broke through to the 10th Heavenstage. Like many of her peers, was assigned to the Uncast Molds, this time hunting down former rebels who had turned to Blood Path. Killed two enemies in the 9th Heavenstage.

Aristoteles 'Aris' Kalokagathos [2 turns from breaking through]- Used Soul-Flaying Scourge Pills successfully, leaping to the 9th Heavenstage. He gained several key insights into his Dao, and is closer to proceeding to Foundation Building.

Aurelia Xu - Remains in the 5th Heavenstage. Sent under the command of Aretaphila Myia to the Uncast Molds, and was badly wounded fighting enemies above her level. Would have advanced otherwise, but is terribly wounded and will take 40 Years to recover.

Damien Silver - Bottlenecked at the 8th Heavenstage. Fought three duels for show against visiting cultivators from Jingshen Clan when Lady Jiao visited. Despite them being in the same stage, lost all three duels.

Demetrius Ceres - Discovered the spirit of an ancient woodcutter in the Foundation Building stage, who granted him the Thousand-In-One-Blow Tree-Felling Axe. It fells both men and trees in his hands, and can project a thousand lesser axeheads to hew weaker cultivators like mere saplings - though he can only generate ten of them at his current level. Bottlenecked at 8th Heavenstage.

Dmitry Kascheev -
Managed to advance to the 6th Heavenstage. During talisman crafting, he crafted a powerful lightning talisman, but was ambushed by bandit cultivators in the 8th. He managed to use it to escape, but suffered damage to his meridians. Will take 20 Years to recover.

Fierce Fang - Slow but steady progress, reaching the 7th Heavenstage. Found a Mirage Salt Lake, an illusory formation that comes into reality every few thousand years while assisting a city with a haunting from a powerful spirit that slew mortals every night. By diving in, he managed to recover Ghost-Banishing Mirage Salt, a powerful salt to banish spirits with, and used some of it to rescue the city from the murderous ghost.

Hektor Sarantapechos - Early Foundation Building. Managed to forge his Second Pillar, however. Granted a lifesaving treasure in a rather awkward encounter with Grand Elder Konstantinos. Safeguarding a number of juniors in the Qi Condensation stage in the Burnished Crags, allowed one Acis Drivas to die due to his failures in command. Came close to being censured by the Legion for not properly disciplining and commanding his cultivators.

Ilias Barallis - Finally broke through, reaching the 5th Heavenstage. Used as a spy in the Burnished Crags, reporting a raid to Expert Hektor Sarantapechos. Poor information security allowed a weaker Qi Condensation disciple to chase after the raid and die, though not to Illias's personal demerit.

Lihua Kokkinos. Cultivated diligently, but bottlenecked at the 8th Heavenstage. Spending a great deal of time researching her bloodline rather than in the field, but making decent contributions all the same.

Lin Fan - Managed to advance well to the 8th Heavenstage. Almost killed in the Burnished Crags, but managed to escape a Foundation Building Expert.

Magnus Centenius [8 turns from breaking through] - Focused on cultivation almost exclusively, breaking through to the 10th Heavenstage. Average luck, escorted many caravans along the Scorpion Road - only encountered those weaker than him, able to chase them off or kill them. Managed to concoct a truly terrible brandy that stank so badly it repelled even scorpions, snakes, and other Spirit Beasts. The Stinking Beast-Repelling Brandy has made him both popular and unpopular among the caravaneers.

Minerva Bardina - @Katana1515 , let me know if you want to break through.

Can break through to Foundation Building at any time.

Spent a great deal of time in seclusion, as befits a talent ready to break through. Only easy missions were offered, and Minerva completed them well.

Ninth Prince - Still at the 10th Heavenstage. [3 turns from 11th Heavenstage]. Spent some time hunting down an imposter who named himself the 'Tenth Prince' and disguised himself as the Ninth Prince while attacking mortals, managing to defeat the scoundrel and claim his head.

Peta Condos and Wajo [3 turns from breaking through] - Reached the 9th Heavenstage. Peta Condos and Wajo together managed to find and negotiate with a lost Mountain Black Spirit Bear in late Foundation Building, as it refused to give access to a Spirit Oasis that fed an entire city. They guided it back to the mountains where it agreed to make trouble for the Devil Bee Sect.

Rina Callista - 10th Heavenstage, and no progress to be seen at all. [4 turns from 11th Heavenstage]. With a group of disparate companions from other powers, Rina Callista uncovered an old Clan fortress near Turtlebone Mountain. Incredibly dangerous, they ventured inwards. While unable to go far past the gates, she was able to recover a single drop of Purified Bronze Blood from a battle there, a drop she can swallow to increase the power of her bloodline dramatically though temporarily, allowing her to temporarily fight in Early Foundation Building once at need.

Savvas Nicolidis - As seems to be the case with many researchers, got lost within his research and failed to cultivate well. Remains at the 4th Heavenstage. However, during his experiments managed to gain some rare materials, infusing them into a Qi-Cloaking Oil, an oil that hides the life of a cultivator entirely, allowing them to bury themselves or sneak away from a fight without detection.

Telios Treces [3 turns from breaking through] - Remains at 9th Heavenstage, spent his time healing wounds and suffering.

Tie Jin - Ordinary cultivation, reached 8th Heavenstage. Managed several new bloodline techniques, and fought an enraged Grand Hump Spirit Camel to save it drinking a village's entire oasis, driving it off.

Wei Feng - His efforts bore fruit finally, and broke through to the 7th Heavenstage. Spent forty days and nights meditating next to a Feces Coconut Tree after being told about it by a nearby villager, gaining an excellent ability to resist poisons due to the constant stink emitted by the Tree.

Xiao Yi - [1 turn from breaking through]. Remains at 9th Heavenstage. Founded a new Formation art, and rewarded with a sliver of will from a Core Formation formation expert to ensure he is not easily killed. His new Formation is useful for all cultivators in the 1st and 2nd Heavenstages. While it has not entered general Legion training, it has been written into a jade slip and become an official technique stored by the Clan.

Yan - Moderate progress, reaching the 8th Heavenstage. Facing a bottleneck. Badly wounded by an angry lost Mountain Black Spirit Bear that chased him away from an oasis he tried to drink at and will take 20 Years to recover.

Zhousi Dun - Terrible Fate. A wound was never properly healed, and without sufficient cultivation resources Zhousi Dun chose to go into the field once more to gather what he needed to heal. Attacked by a cultivator on his own level, he was maimed, losing four fingers on his right hand, though he managed to escape. Crippled. Remains at 5th Heavenstage.

----------

And some new faces as well!

Ferenike -
It was a Foundation Building Expert, one of many who had hidden themselves away from the Cannibals during their reign. As the Clan rebuilt, they came out to seize treasures and the like. Ferenike and her squad were patrolling a road as they were attacked, a rebel against the Cannibals seeking to use them, as well as a caravan of five thousand mortals they were guarding as his own Blood Path foundation.

The entire squad were badly wounded, but managed to hold out - after their Hoplite Formation fell, Ferenike managed to personally distract and delay the enemy enough for an allied Foundation Building expert from the Flood Dragon Gang to arrive. An excellent contribution that won her enough Contribution Points to quickly recover her injuries and cultivate frantically, reaching the 8th Heavenstage in a mere two decades. One of the mortals was the son of a Core Formation Elder, who forged her a Teleportation Amulet, 'that you may escape danger once as you have saved the life of my son once'.

Mograine - Despite all the bloodline difficulties, managed to advance to the 5th Heavenstage. Research on his body was used to save a badly injured Great Circle Foundation Building expert - it was with these Contribution Points he was able to purchase enough resources to advance.

Anastasios "Tasos" Basilakes - Lucky in cultivation and in fate. His peculiar archery methods let him slay many Demonic rebels, those who are more-used to the Clan's stolid and straightforward techniques. In doing so he earned many points, and was able to advance to the 7th Heavenstage. Upon discovering a small cicada-shaped piece of jade, he was guided by it to a secret realm beneath the desert sands. A cave full of treasure and wonder, with a single magical lamp at the end. He took the lamp, and the cave began to collapse, and Anastasios was forced to accept the aid of a Flight-Woven Silk Wind Carpet to manage to make his way out - though it left him immediately after. The Lamp itself was one containing a sealed Thousand-Year Sandstorm Spirit, who was convinced to offer its strength in aid once in return for its freedom at that time.
> tfw no Diogenes Aparámillos fate

RIP, boy stuck in limbo before I can even beat my muse into producing an omake for him

Oh thank goodness. Now he's only 10 years behind the curve. Also that is an amusing image. I'll see if I can work in a mention somewhere.

Anyway, somehow I feel like next turn a lot of people (including myself) will be asking for lifesaving treasures. Probably a good idea to stock up ahead of the trials.

Constans Herculius [DEAD] - Good Seed Background
@occipitallobe
Good Seed Background
Constans Herculius

Stage: 1st of qi condensation
Age:22
Omake bonus 1: Lifesaving treasure.

The Herculius had ever been known as dutiful soldiers, but not as great cultivators. In the entire long history of the lineage, the number of core formation cultivators can be counted on a single hand, and generations often passed without a single foundation builder. The current family was on the upswing however, with many foundation builders of which one or two was seen as perhaps breaking through to core formation within the next few hundred years. It was therefore considered a disappointment when Constans lived down to the family reputation in the worst of ways. Lazy in terms of studies and meditation, Constans instead preferred drinking wine or brawling on the practice field (often both at the same time) looking for all the world like nothing more than a common thug with his bar mace, If an unusually skilled such.

The expected trajectory of his life would have been a mediocre but acceptable military service, followed by a mediocre but acceptable retirement languishing in the 10th heavenstage with no hope of advancement, eventually raising mediocre but acceptable children. This was complicated by him encountering a hidden forge on an early mission outside the sect. The forge had once belonged to the rogue blood path core formation smith Apostate Corpse Taker, who had temporally hidden there while avoiding his rivals. It seemed that he had been teaching an apprentice, for the forge was filled with instructions on an unusual method of artifact creation, as well as a paired anvil and hammer.

If a cultivator carried the hammer while slaying other cultivators, it would absorb a fragment of their dao. This fragment would enhance and temporarily strengthen the hammer, which could then be used to craft a single artifact imbued with the dao fragment if brought to the demonic anvil. The forging required a strong bloodthirsty mindset to subdue the fragment, however, which suited Constans more than fine. While he had no interest in bullying mortals like a blood path cultivator and only slightly more interest in being unmatched under the heavens, he was more than happy to brutalize his peers in combat.

The method was the first thing that had really interested in his life beyond fighting, and since it served as a reward for doing what he wanted to do anyway, he brought home the hammer and anvil, throwing himself into his studies with all of his underutilized intellect. Soon he had enough knowledge to begin, and now all Constans needed was an enemy to smash.

Fancy Special Bonus: demonic hammer and anvil — After slaying a cultivator while carrying the hammer, Constans can make something related to that cultivators themes/abilities at the anvil.
Basically, I really like crafting segments in Xianxia, and I wanted an excuse to maximize writing opportunities for those while also having a reason why they don't just hang out in a smithy all day.

Huh, looks like a bad cultivation roll, but a pretty good Fate roll?

Would this functionally count as a Life Saving Treasure for the purposes of calculating stuff like Secret Realm adventures? If it does, I think Rina'll be ready to go on schedule this turn.

Currently the strongest Good Seed! Also not a very good commander... sorry @Anders. Some good stuff to hopefully get my creative juices flowing though.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, the bit about Hektor says that Acis Drivas died, except the good seed report says Augustus Servius was the one that died? @occipitallobe

Isn't this a Realm Surpassing Treasure ? Which is really kinda like an aggressive version of a Life Saving Treasure via scaring away the source of the injury i guess lol

Someone lied to Hektor so he doesn't feel so bad when the person he thought was dead was really alive ?

So I'm wondering, it looks like last turn I rolled average on both rolls, this turn I rolled poorly on cultivation and average on Fate? Is guess the Qi-Cloaking Oil is the life-saving treasure I ordered? Thought the more I think about the Qi-Cloaking Oil, using it as a life-saving treasure is almost a waste, hmm..

Hmm. Not much omake material either, hrm. Lemme brainstorm a bit.

I read that as "decided to just let the fool get killed, only for Augustus to ignore that and dive in after Acis anyway", based on the description of his fail.

That's a really nice Fate-roll. Cool. Was thinking of writing about him developing a movement tech this turn, so that works well- wait a moment. The 100-year trials is in two turns. (Specifically the end of Turn 5.) Would I be cutting it too close to get a lifesaving treasure between before the Turn 5 Good Seed report? My guess is yes, though ofc I may be wrong.

As a sidenote @occipitallobe, does the technique that I chose as a Cool Thing this turn allow him to fight one Heavenstage above his cultivation stage, or should I have phrased it as a burgeoning combat style instead for something like that? I'm planning to fill out the rest of the style's techniques with each individual one being their own Cool Thing bonus, BTW. (Currently thinking the next two will be a movement tech and a defensive tech.)

Oof, I'm glad to see this but also somewhat regretful that I've spent too much time on other things to write something for Aretaphila lol

I'm not supporting a good seed, but there might be some interesting material to be had in thinking about the kind of adventures a young cultivator might have while the clan/sect integrates their new lands, with the accompanying culture shock of the mortals at dealing with Cultivators who dont want to eat them. For people used to being local heroes that will probably be a big shock.

peak qi condesantion will be more useful than a decent early foundation expert for the trials . Basicly heal from the injuries u get from the tournament and try to get to great circle foundation for the one after that hopefully or atleast late.

the last qi level doesnt seem super impressive but the 12th will give easier cultivation as nascent soul . I think that is what people should aim for if they want to do the optional condesantion levels.

And this is also why the clan is open for the good seeds to go into the late qi cultivation levels instead of rushing to foundation level asfar i can tell earlier in the quest.

Funky! I'm guessing Tasos spent his LST here with the carpet - or is the Sandstorm Spirit the LST? Also, I'll be starting the Index updates now. RIP Augustus, but I believe this was on player's request so it's less tragic than last time.

I like this. A lot to write about.

@occipitallobe does my One say i helped a foundation expert escape or i became one?
Your Good Seed is at the 8th Heavenstage, not Foundation, and it's neither, by the way. He escaped a Foundation Building Expert who nearly killed him. Lin Fan's made good progress this turn, I'm sure you must be happy. (5th to 8th)
Lin Fan - Managed to advance well to the 8th Heavenstage. Almost killed in the Burnished Crags, but managed to escape a Foundation Building Expert.
As a sidenote, I'd recommend a Lifesaving Treasure in the recent future if you plan on having him survive the Hundred-Years Trials in two turns.

One more thing I forgot to ask, is the 8 turn to next stage, does it mean both 11th stage and foundation?

Dmitry Kascheev 2 - Gifts of the Grandmother
Dmitry Kascheev
Dmitry did not like to travel. Twenty measured years spent in the capital, devoted to cultivation and favorite business. No incidents. And as soon as one left for a new territory for a thunderous coal, then there was immediately trouble. Almost a day from home, he ran into a hard-to-kill animal. The devil beetles did not want to die either from lightning or from fire, they only managed to drown them. The most disgusting thing is that they were not good for anything. They were used only for armor; within 24 hours from the moment of killing, the shell of the beetles lost its properties.
On this note, the whole journey passed, the opponents came across not comfortable, I had to score some with my fists.
Spent a lot of protective talismans. I had to go back, replenish the arsenal. I decided to come and create it on the spot. FIG.
Thunder coal turned out to be a resource in demand, it was necessary to give 10 talismans created upon arrival for it. The only good moment, the Thunder talisman from the new material turned out to be good, and the coal was still on for 2 more.
On the way back he was ambushed. The bloody bandits wounded before I noticed them. It helped that I was not lazy when tempering my body and the bandit was 5th stage of qi. One tulsman of a stone fist and he's a corpse. The bad news was that the stealth was not the leader. The leader who has such subordinates is clearly stronger than me. The new talisman helped. When the stage 8 cultivator easily repulsed the attack of my standard talisman of fire, demanded to surrender and prepare to work for the "Great Terrible Gang of Death". The leader did not expect lightning to pierce his defensive skill and kill with 1 hit. The great gang suffered a terrible death.
The bandits turned out to be beggars, it seems they wanted to get rich by getting a personal slave of the artifactor.
Later it turned out that the dagger damaged the medians and I would have to forget about the new stage for decades. I will never leave a workshop without a saving treasure, since my grandmother specializes in them.
