New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

You can, I suppose. If you want to kill enemies beyond your level or the like you'll need to take it as an Omake bonus, though. If you just want to kill a guy you could've murdered otherwise with lightning, I'm okay with it. Incredibly dangerous battle strategy, though.
Cool might omake it in the trial cause it really inspires me. Just sad that I'm probably not even going to be close to 13th Heavenstage by the time the trial rolls around since my omake idea would work best with the Single Pillar even if that would super kill me.

@occipitallobe what would a title be for someone in charge of Health and sanitation?

I suspect that title would mostly be held by mortals except in much larger cities and would vary city to city. For massive cities (1 million+) it might be Minister of Public Works, or Councillor of Public Works, or something more sanitised along those lines. It might even not refer to sanitation in general, and might be just a generic title 'Elder', 'Minister', 'Duke', whatever in order to move away from the implication of being the guy who looks after the poo.

I meant a person in charge of a major hospital specialized in dealing with cultivation related injuries

Mograine 3 - The Frustrations of a Doctor
Slumping against the wall, as she left the room holding the hospital's most unusual case for centuries, feeling everyone of her hundreds of years of life, Olivia fumed at the hubris and stupidity of the boy within the room behind her. The only thing she could approve of was his obvious intelligence, but even that was tempered by the fact that he reeked of lies and just being near him disturbed her Dao. Yet, her job demanded that she figure out what was wrong with him and heal him, turning to glare at the door once more, for the first time in centuries she wished that she had never taken this job.

Shaking her head to recover her balance before her cultivation could begin to wave, she stood up and stretched releasing the build up of tension that came whenever she spent time around the insufferable boy. Fuming as she moved down the hallway, patients and other doctors scurrying from her path as spectral flames danced around her as her rage and frustration boiled over out of her control.

Dirt, grim and other such impurities fled before her as they were consumed by the flames of purity born from her Dao. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw doctors bringing those infected and injured into her path, letting her emitted energy provide more benefit than simple sterilization of the building. Such actions only stroked her fury and thus her flames, as she tore through the building in search of the monster that had forced this wretched mission upon her shoulders.

Eventually, her travels came to an end as she reached the lair of the monster and prepared to face the most dreaded foe possible. Glaring at the simple bronze door with a simple plaque on its surface hiding the true horror within from unseeing eyes, just waiting to consume everything good and wholesome about the world. Iatrosophist Achelous were the simple name emblazoned on the plaque and yet they were pure evil, she could see the taint flowing from the door only barely hidden under the stench of lies coming from within. Steeling herself, and fuming at such indignity she opened the door revealing a simple office with the most evil of men, sitting at his desk, reading over some papers.

As the door opened, the man looked up and smiled the smile of a monster that saw prey entering their home, before standing up and with a blur of movement was patting her head. "Stop that, I am mad at you for giving me this wretched assignment. Stop patting my head." Olivia complained, in an unusually high tone of voice even as her face reddened.

"Is my favored daughter not liking the task, I so generously gave out to her?" Achelous drawled even as his hand without error remained patting Olivia's head.

"Yes, the boy is disrespectful, constantly lies and has no sense of just how risky his life currently is." Snapped Olivia as she used her power to cross the room faster than her father could still pat her head. Sighting at the loss of the teasing ability her father wilted a bit and retuned to his chair.

Picking up a pair of glasses, the sight of which only caused Olivia to snot, before placing them upon his nose and peering over the rims towards his fuming daughter. "I seem to recall, you becoming increasingly frustrated from the sheer amount of respect you were receiving. Beyond that your Dao of purity is one of the few things that might actually let young Morgraine survive the coming few days. Don't look shocked, you of all people should know that I keep careful watch over this hospital and that includes my patients. Regardless, I did examine him with my own Dao when he first arrived to us and for some reason Healing did not consider him injured, as such I have concluded that his mutation is at the very least now intrinsic to his being and irreversible. As such, it is critical that he becomes at the very least able of surviving as his children might inherit elements of the mutation which could be very profitable for the clan. Following the logic to its conclusion, you managed to trick or convince him to accept you as a cultivation helper and teacher. With you promising to help him, you need to see what the issue is in a more complete sense than simple reading would allow, thus you come to me and are going to ask for a visualization room." Achelous dryly read off of the piece of paper in front of him, smirking as he saw his daughter visibly react to his knowledge of her plans. "As for the room, it is already prepared and waiting. Of course do be prepared to pay off the debt incurred via making sure that he is not going to explode if he doesn't repair himself once a day. Also, come back once its done so that we can have some family time."

Olivia became encased in pure white flames before tearing out of the room and racing down the hallway exuding pure frustration. "Don't forget to pay for the door, its already been added to the total." Came the voice of her meddling father from his office.

another omake for Morgiane this time about his doctor getting help for him
@occipitallobe

We always flood the thread with more Omakes just before the good seed report, our poor OP has to change his update several times before he can post

I'm so nervous for the good seed report. Thankfully I have a life-saving treasure so nothing too bad can happen, but it still feels nerve-wracking. I think I should have written another omake for this turn just for sure, but hopefully, my luck is better than the last turn.

I'm in the process of writing one now, but i planned it for after the Good Seed Report. Though i had considered splitting it into 3 if i was done before the Good Seed Report is ready. Just making use of my free time lol

Free time, sounds like such a wonderful thing, I've spent the last few days driving my wife around and getting ready to move. I really wanted to write a longer Omake with more details on making alcohol, I had this idea for making my own distillery with a snake venom infused tequila

Haha! It's probably going to be about 5K words and i've been writing it for the past 3 days. Just short spurts as the words come to me.

Here I am wondering if I could just write an omke of my character giving his perspective on the other characters.

The summary would be roughly 'God, these guys are geniuses' :V

Yes please. I wish to have Ferenike consume this glorious concoction and write the drunken junior hijinks that ensue.
I already have a fire wine that causes highs and hallucinations, I think I need to write in how many kids are going to be born soon after the banquet

Yes, that would be hilarious, the other poison user has already beaten 2 formation experts

Ohhhh really? *goes to read*

Yes, this is Excellent. Ferenike likes hot and fire qi aspected things so this is wonderful. Her next omake will have her drinking this after a lucky discovery.

Year 60 - Let a thousand flowers bloom! [GOOD SEED REPORT]
As always, if I've missed someone, missed an omake request, etc, let me know. I expect if I'm 95% accurate I'll make 1 or 2 mistakes each time - there are a lot of Good Seeds.

Now..

First up - Good Seeds from last time...
-----------------------

Acis Drivas
- 4th Heavenstage. Crippled. Went into Cannibal territory to rescue a kidnapped mortal woman's children. Was ambushed by Qi Condensation Cannibal in the 8th Heavenstage, losing his left arm and right hand. Failed to rescue the children who were already slain, permanently crippled - escaped after being rescued to Augustus Servius.

Augustus Servius - DEAD. Was assigned to Acis Drivas, who went into Cannibal territory foolhardily. Managed to rescue his ally, but was too slow to escape. Stood against the enemy and held them off for nearly thirty minutes, but already crippled as he was he was killed and consumed.

Achille Adephos [1 turn from breaking through]. Remains at 9th Heavenstage. Fortuitous encounter, meeting a Snow-Eyed Desert Fox. Such creatures are known for their powerful dream realms, in which cultivators often waste and die, dreaming forever under their glare. Achille managed to survive, and used the subjective century of time within the dream realm as experience to solidify his Dao. He is close to breaking through.

Amaranth Castellanos - [3 turns from breaking through] Remains at 9th Heavenstage. Spectacular luck, being contracted to kill many toads. One had eaten a large magical boot full of Spirit Stones, and fused with the item to form something new. When the toad was killed it granted a pair of Toad-Foot Boots in the shape of flippers, allowing Amaranth to jump many times his height, and land safely.

Ambrus Nike - [3 turns from breaking through] - Despite his terrible injuries, he cultivated safely and well. He managed to reach the 9th Heavenstage, and was hired to help settle new Clan mortals in the Uncast Molds. Despite surviving, his mortals were ambushed by a number of bandits, and almost half died. He has had some trouble gaining sufficient contributions points to gain the materials he needs to prepare to advance.

Aretaphila Myia - Excellent progress. Broke through to the 10th Heavenstage. Like many of her peers, was assigned to the Uncast Molds, this time hunting down former rebels who had turned to Blood Path. Killed two enemies in the 9th Heavenstage.

Aristoteles 'Aris' Kalokagathos [2 turns from breaking through]- Used Soul-Flaying Scourge Pills successfully, leaping to the 9th Heavenstage. He gained several key insights into his Dao, and is closer to proceeding to Foundation Building.

Aurelia Xu - Remains in the 5th Heavenstage. Sent under the command of Aretaphila Myia to the Uncast Molds, and was badly wounded fighting enemies above her level. Would have advanced otherwise, but is terribly wounded and will take 40 Years to recover.

Damien Silver - Bottlenecked at the 8th Heavenstage. Fought three duels for show against visiting cultivators from Jingshen Clan when Lady Jiao visited. Despite them being in the same stage, lost all three duels.

Demetrius Ceres - Discovered the spirit of an ancient woodcutter in the Foundation Building stage, who granted him the Thousand-In-One-Blow Tree-Felling Axe. It fells both men and trees in his hands, and can project a thousand lesser axeheads to hew weaker cultivators like mere saplings - though he can only generate ten of them at his current level. Bottlenecked at 8th Heavenstage.

Dmitry Kascheev -
Managed to advance to the 6th Heavenstage. During talisman crafting, he crafted a powerful lightning talisman, but was ambushed by bandit cultivators in the 8th. He managed to use it to escape, but suffered damage to his meridians. Will take 20 Years to recover.

Fierce Fang - Slow but steady progress, reaching the 7th Heavenstage. Found a Mirage Salt Lake, an illusory formation that comes into reality every few thousand years while assisting a city with a haunting from a powerful spirit that slew mortals every night. By diving in, he managed to recover Ghost-Banishing Mirage Salt, a powerful salt to banish spirits with, and used some of it to rescue the city from the murderous ghost.

Hektor Sarantapechos - Early Foundation Building. Managed to forge his Second Pillar, however. Granted a lifesaving treasure in a rather awkward encounter with Grand Elder Konstantinos. Safeguarding a number of juniors in the Qi Condensation stage in the Burnished Crags, allowed one Augustus Servius to die due to his failures in command. Came close to being censured by the Legion for not properly disciplining and commanding his cultivators.

Ilias Barallis - Finally broke through, reaching the 5th Heavenstage. Used as a spy in the Burnished Crags, reporting a raid to Expert Hektor Sarantapechos. Poor information security allowed a weaker Qi Condensation disciple to chase after the raid and die, though not to Illias's personal demerit.

Lihua Kokkinos. Cultivated diligently, but bottlenecked at the 8th Heavenstage. Spending a great deal of time researching her bloodline rather than in the field, but making decent contributions all the same.

Lin Fan - Managed to advance well to the 8th Heavenstage. Almost killed in the Burnished Crags, but managed to escape a Foundation Building Expert.

Magnus Centenius [8 turns from breaking through] - Focused on cultivation almost exclusively, breaking through to the 10th Heavenstage. Average luck, escorted many caravans along the Scorpion Road - only encountered those weaker than him, able to chase them off or kill them. Managed to concoct a truly terrible brandy that stank so badly it repelled even scorpions, snakes, and other Spirit Beasts. The Stinking Beast-Repelling Brandy has made him both popular and unpopular among the caravaneers.

Minerva Bardina - Broken through. Now Early Foundation Building.

Spent a great deal of time in seclusion, as befits a talent ready to break through. Only easy missions were offered, and Minerva completed them well.

Ninth Prince - Still at the 10th Heavenstage. [3 turns from 11th Heavenstage]. Spent some time hunting down an imposter who named himself the 'Tenth Prince' and disguised himself as the Ninth Prince while attacking mortals, managing to defeat the scoundrel and claim his head.

Peta Condos and Wajo [3 turns from breaking through] - Reached the 9th Heavenstage. Peta Condos and Wajo together managed to find and negotiate with a lost Mountain Black Spirit Bear in late Foundation Building, as it refused to give access to a Spirit Oasis that fed an entire city. They guided it back to the mountains where it agreed to make trouble for the Devil Bee Sect.

Rina Callista - 10th Heavenstage, and no progress to be seen at all. [4 turns from 11th Heavenstage]. With a group of disparate companions from other powers, Rina Callista uncovered an old Clan fortress near Turtlebone Mountain. Incredibly dangerous, they ventured inwards. While unable to go far past the gates, she was able to recover a single drop of Purified Bronze Blood from a battle there, a drop she can swallow to increase the power of her bloodline dramatically though temporarily, allowing her to temporarily fight in Early Foundation Building once at need.

Savvas Nicolidis - As seems to be the case with many researchers, got lost within his research and failed to cultivate well. Remains at the 4th Heavenstage. However, during his experiments managed to gain some rare materials, infusing them into a Qi-Cloaking Oil, an oil that hides the life of a cultivator entirely, allowing them to bury themselves or sneak away from a fight without detection.

Telios Treces [3 turns from breaking through] - Remains at 9th Heavenstage, spent his time healing wounds and suffering.

Tie Jin - Ordinary cultivation, reached 8th Heavenstage. Managed several new bloodline techniques, and fought an enraged Grand Hump Spirit Camel to save it drinking a village's entire oasis, driving it off.

Wei Feng - His efforts bore fruit finally, and broke through to the 7th Heavenstage. Spent forty days and nights meditating next to a Feces Coconut Tree after being told about it by a nearby villager, gaining an excellent ability to resist poisons due to the constant stink emitted by the Tree.

Xiao Yi - [1 turn from breaking through]. Remains at 9th Heavenstage. Founded a new Formation art, and rewarded with a sliver of will from a Core Formation formation expert to ensure he is not easily killed. His new Formation is useful for all cultivators in the 1st and 2nd Heavenstages. While it has not entered general Legion training, it has been written into a jade slip and become an official technique stored by the Clan.

Yan - Moderate progress, reaching the 8th Heavenstage. Facing a bottleneck. Badly wounded by an angry lost Mountain Black Spirit Bear that chased him away from an oasis he tried to drink at and will take 20 Years to recover. Affected by paperwork demons. Please read corrected report below, Grand Elder.

Zhousi Dun - Terrible Fate. A wound was never properly healed, and without sufficient cultivation resources Zhousi Dun chose to go into the field once more to gather what he needed to heal. Attacked by a cultivator on his own level, he was maimed, losing four fingers on his right hand, though he managed to escape. Crippled. Remains at 5th Heavenstage.

----------

And some new faces as well!

Ferenike -
It was a Foundation Building Expert, one of many who had hidden themselves away from the Cannibals during their reign. As the Clan rebuilt, they came out to seize treasures and the like. Ferenike and her squad were patrolling a road as they were attacked, a rebel against the Cannibals seeking to use them, as well as a caravan of five thousand mortals they were guarding as his own Blood Path foundation.

The entire squad were badly wounded, but managed to hold out - after their Hoplite Formation fell, Ferenike managed to personally distract and delay the enemy enough for an allied Foundation Building expert from the Flood Dragon Gang to arrive. An excellent contribution that won her enough Contribution Points to quickly recover her injuries and cultivate frantically, reaching the 8th Heavenstage in a mere two decades. One of the mortals was the son of a Core Formation Elder, who forged her a Teleportation Amulet, 'that you may escape danger once as you have saved the life of my son once'.

Mograine - Despite all the bloodline difficulties, managed to advance to the 5th Heavenstage. Research on his body was used to save a badly injured Great Circle Foundation Building expert - it was with these Contribution Points he was able to purchase enough resources to advance.

Anastasios "Tasos" Basilakes - Lucky in cultivation and in fate. His peculiar archery methods let him slay many Demonic rebels, those who are more-used to the Clan's stolid and straightforward techniques. In doing so he earned many points, and was able to advance to the 7th Heavenstage. Upon discovering a small cicada-shaped piece of jade, he was guided by it to a secret realm beneath the desert sands. A cave full of treasure and wonder, with a single magical lamp at the end. He took the lamp, and the cave began to collapse, and Anastasios was forced to accept the aid of a Flight-Woven Silk Wind Carpet to manage to make his way out - though it left him immediately after. The Lamp itself was one containing a sealed Thousand-Year Sandstorm Spirit, who was convinced to offer its strength in aid once in return for its freedom at that time.

-----------

Of course, after exorcism of the clan paperwork demons, several new or more accurate Fates have been scribed on Manuel's desk!

Diogenes Aparámillos - A lucky lad, finding his Bloodline and the unique expression thereof to see him cultivating at immense speed. It was a venture into the Stone Forest of Mikhael Li (or Li Mikhael, the naming conventions matching poorly) that had him encounter a sliver of that great Clan sword cultivator's Sword Intent, allowing him to walk a straight path from the 1st Heavenstage to the 9th Heavenstage in merely 20 years.

Yan [3 turns from 11th Heavenstage]- The lucky young peasant sought to use his luck in the Qiguai Clan's Secret Realm, paying in Contribution Points for the Clan to open the way for him - diplomatically. He entered, and for what seemed like ten years for him ventured into a realm of broken rocks and falling stars, where trees grew upside-down on islands floating in the sky, gravity itself reversing from point to point. He was fortunate indeed, and had four encounters.

Firstly, he found a Endless Qi Pill, a powerful cultivation treasure that allowed him to skip forty years of effort on the parts of others. However, he was hunted by other disciples for his treasure, and surrounded.

He was crippled, losing his left hand. In desperation he jumped into He fell upwards for almost a day, landing in a great upside-down lake in the sky, next to an abandoned castle. A ghost was there, the ghost of an ancient Spirit Blacksmith. Her spirit was lonely, as she had been abandoned by her husband in life to her death, tossed away by one she had loved. In return for sitting with her and keeping her company for eight years, eight months, and eight days, she forged a new hand for Yan, a Hand of Immortal Steel. No slower than an ordinary hand, but capable of shattering the defenses of any in Qi Condensation, and blocking any blow from such. It does require a daily application of oil, though.

He explored her island, and found her husband had hidden a valuable Sandstorm Turkey Vulture Egg on the island. Such a beast could be raised into a powerful companion, equal to Yan's own strength, allowing him to travel much faster, and even fly away on its back.

He had no way off the island, and chose to try and leap off the edge, back to the ground. Thankfully, his Lifesaving Treasure consumed itself saving his life, and he was able to escape.

(Yan lives up to his name here. On a D100 he rolled above 90 three times in a row. He died the fourth roll, though - so without a Lifesaving Treasure he'd be done.)

I am strangely happy with this result. I gather Savvas managed to spread his discovery among the clan?

Ok, beast repelling brandy is really funny stuff. He is really going to need a long time to break through.

One thing, my life saving treasure this turn was recorded right?

Xiao Yi 9 - [Through the eyes of others]
Xiao Yi [Through the eyes of others]

The shrieking whine of the Alarm Arrays woke Wu Gui from his slumber. Getting up with a groan, he turned his head towards the approaching Head of the Night Duty Detail and barked out a sharp order.

" Report "

Snapping to attention, the Cultivator burst into a brief report: " Boss, the Arrays detected the presences of cultivators approaching out position from 5 Li away, i've dispatched Yang to scout for their numbers and cultivation levels with his Spirit Bird "

" Hmrph, get the Cattle to serve me some wine while we wait " so saying, Wu Gui sat on his traveling chest as his subordinate hastened to fulfill the order, commanding the nearest mortal he could spot to bring wine.

Within a few minutes, the wine was brought to Wu Gui by a young girl about 10 years in age who served him with trembling hands as she poured it into the goblet Wu Gui held out to her. Sniffing the wine in appreciation and embracing the metallic aroma waffling from the goblet, Wu Gui gulped down the goblet of Blood Wine, enjoying the rich iron taste it left on his tongue as well as the unique flavors added to it from the souls of the mortals added during the distillation process.

Savoring the aftertaste, Wu Gui couldn't help but muse about his current situation. Ever since the Civil War between the Blood Cannibal's 2 Nascent Souls started, Wu Gui saw the writing on the wall and knew that with his 9th Heavenstage Cultivation he would serve as nothing but cannon fodder to both powers. Quickly fleeing the sect with some trusted juniors as well as the Clan's stock of Quality Human Cattle, he managed to avoid being drafted by either power and within a decade into the conflict managed to established himself as a purveyor of Quality Cultivation materials to both sides.

For 40 years, the war allowed him to raise generations of Human Cattle who knew nothing but the fate of being slaughtered, their docility and the needs of the war allowed him to quickly amass resources, enough resources to even begin preparing his attempt to challenge the Foundation Establishment Tribulation. But it was all ruined when Corpse Gulper was killed, within a year of his death, Wu Gui found himself fleeing his Farm and culling his stock, only bringing with him the cattle that had the spark for cultivation.

I'll make it all back! Once i make it to the Devil Bees lands, i'll be able to sell these cattle to them as Cultivation Furnaces, with the wealth i get, i'll ascend to Foundation Establishment and seek entrance into the Devil Bees!

The sensation of something warm and sticky on his hand woke Wu Gui from his thoughts, snapping to attention he noticed that the young mortal girl had spilled some of the wine onto his hand while refilling his cup. Growling in anger, Wu Gui hit the girl with a quick backhand knocking her to the ground. With his hand still raised, he channeled his Qi towards it making it take a reddish glow as he prepared to kill the girl for her mistake.

Before he could strike, his attention was caught by the return of his subordinate who quickly reported his findings. " Boss, Yang reports that there seems to be about 10 Cultivators mounted on Spirit Beasts approaching our convoy, he thinks the strongest is 9th heavenstage like you, but seems to have just entered it. They seemed to be Golden Devils, most of them have that golden hair on their heads. "

" Shit. I was prepared to bribe them with some of the cattle if it was Old Cannibal or Corpse Gulper's men. If it's the Golden Devils, we'll have to fight. Get the men here and bring all the cattle into the center of our camp. Tell Yang to wake up all his Spirit Scorpions and get Wei to start laying down arrays to protect us. " Quickly snapping out orders that stirred the camp into a frenzy, Wu Gui ignored the trembling girl before him and return to his tent to dress for battle.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun had just started to rise by the time the Golden Devils came into view. Wu Gui now wielding his Ghost Banner, quickly gathered his men around him as a sole member of the force rode out towards him.

" Child-Eating Butcher Wu Gui, surrender now and we'll give you a quick death! Don't and we'll kill you and ensure your soul is used to refine pills! " The arrogance of the Golden Devil Clansman drove Wu Gui into a rage, yelling back in response

" You think just 10 of you can take me and my boys! We survived being a merchant to both sides of the War and drove away countless attempts to take our goods, you think a Greenhouse flower like you can take us !? Come then! Your flesh will allow me to ascend into Foundation Establishment ! "

Without further words, the Golden Devil returned to his group and within seconds the cavalry troop started making it's way towards Wu Gui and his men. As the unit started to break into a canter, a translucent golden armored horseman started taking form over the riders, growing more and more solid as they made their way towards Wu Gui.

" Steady. Steady. Steady Boys... We dealt with this before! We just need to take their first charge! The blows will weaken after that. Yang! Get your scorpions ready, i want them to begin ambushing the Golden Devils from the sands the minute they let this Formation fade. Wei! Grab a few of the cattle and use them to augment the Arrays to wreck havoc after the scorpions separate them from each others. "

After snapping out his orders, Wu Gui prepared himself to receive the charge. Standing in the back with the cattle, he stationed his men in front of him, with a majority of them working in tandem to call froth a blood red barrier to blunt the charge while the rest prepared themselves to launch a counterblow the moment the barrier was breached.

" KILL " With a shout like thunder the Armored horseman hit the barrier with a resounding crash, shattering it and throwing most of the defending cultivators back except for 1 poor soul who found himself impaled through the chest.

" NOW! " At the shouted command, the remaining cultivators launched into an attack launching waves of spells and Sword Qi slashes at the formation before it could recover from the Qi intensive charge. Wu Gui knew what he would see when the dust and debris from the attacks faded, dead and dying Golden Devils and a flicking insubstantial Armored Horseman.

The years of war had taught the Cannibals that once the Horseman's Charge was defended against, as long as it was prevented from riding off the formation was easy prey to any retaliation attacks launched. However, contrary to Wu Gui's expectations he was greeted with the sight of a Golden Soldier holding a Greatshield that was still smoking slightly from the attacks.

Panicking slightly, Wu Gui bellowed at Yang, " Send in your Scorpions! It's impossible to switch Formations so quickly without any drawbacks! Get the Queen Scorpion to focus on shattering the formation and it's brood to kill them when it shatters! "

With the sound of a shrill whistle, a enormous scorpion burst from the sands and charged at the Golden Soldier, It's claws grappling at the Soldier's limbs and it's tail flickering into a flurry of strikes. The Soldier took a brief step back to dodge the grasping claws before dropping to a kneel and covering it's body with it's shield as it blocked the Scorpion's stinger. As the tail strikes started to slowdown, the Soldier lunged from it's position, deflecting the Stinger away from it with it's shield and stabbed with the spear held in the other hand, punching it through the beast and causing it to collapse with a groundshaking quake.

" Shit. Yang, get it back up! Yang. " Turning towards Yang, Wu Gui found himself stunned by the sight before him. The Scorpion's stinger had been deflected so that it pierced through Yang, ripping him into shreds. Feeling a chill on his spine, he turned back and noticed that the Golden Soldier had faded away revealing the 10 Golden Devils each individually attacking the smaller scorpions with golden glowing weapons.

Watching as they carve away at the scorpions with ease and made their way towards him, Wu Gui have out another order. " Wei! Activate the arrays now! Blow them to bits! " Upon hearing the command, Wei ripped his dagger through the throats of the two cattle kneeling before him and activated the prepared array, causing a sea of fire to slam into the Golden Devils.

Panting from the effort of bellowing his last few orders, Wu Gui couldn't help but plead softly under his breath " Die you monsters, Die! i don't believe the blood augmented Corpse Fire Array can't burn you all. " As the sea of flame burned without any signs of stopping, Wu Gui felt the tension leaving his shoulders at the sight of the dead Golden Devils. Turning back to his men, he started preparing them to move out before a search party was sent for the dead cultivators.

" Good Job Wei, Let's pack up. Get the Cattle ready to move and kill the older ones and those that can't walk on their own. We need to leave now and travel into Devil Bee lands before noon. " Just as Wu Gui was about to head towards his tent to prepare for departure, a flicker of motion among the flames caught his eye.

" No. No. Nonononononno! That's Impossible! " Wu Gui's cry of despair caught the attention of everyone, as all attention was turned to the flames, the sight of 10 Golden Devils riding out of the flames with glowing golden armor on them and their mounts drove the camp into a panic.

" Wei! Hit them again! " However, before Wei could do anything a Golden Devil burst into motion striking down at him with a wave of Saber Qi. Seeing Wei attacked was the straw that broke the camel's back, without any words to each other, the cultivators present each brought out their escape techniques, each seeking to flee the Golden Devils.

" Go. Let none escape. " At that simple command, the remaining 8 Golden Devils and their mounts charged at the fleeing cultivators, with some shooting glowing arrows and some flinging shards of glass at the cultivators that got the furthest away from the chaos.

Staring in terror as the sole remaining Golden Devil started making his way to him, Wu Gui's trembling hands gripped his Ghost Banner and with a flush of Qi called forth all the Spirits remaining within it. As the ghosts started to stream out of the banner and take shape in the form of indistinct silhouettes wielding spears, Wu Gui felt his confidence start to return as the numbers seemed to grow to hundreds.

" Let me go Golden Devil! Even you can't fight off a hundred ghosts by yourself! Before i was a merchant i was a Beast Cultivator on the Ghost Path, I have arts that will enhance these ghosts to even greater heights! Not even your 9th Heavenstage cultivation can fend them all off! Let's call things even. You can have everything in the camp, keep the Cattle. Just let me go, when i'm 2 Li away i'll command the Ghosts to return to my banner. "

Instead of a reply, the Golden Devil and his Spirit Beast just continued their slow predatory stalk towards him. As he approached, Wu Gui observed a golden glow start to manifest over the Golden Devil's Ji and the Claws of his Spirit Beast while Jade scales appeared to overlay itself over his body. Gritting his teeth at the Golden Devil's inflexibility, Wu Gui gave the command to attack to his Ghosts with a wave of his banner, using his mental bond with the artifact to reach out to all the ghosts present.

As the ghosts charged at the Golden Devil, Wu Gui observed as the Clansman fought in harmony with his beast. The claws of the Qilin mount striking at the weaker ghosts to clear a path while the mounted cultivator landed devastating thrusts at the ghosts who still had enough sense of self to attack with their weapons instead of just swamping the duo.

Wu Gui hastily gave the ghosts another command, commanding the weaker ghosts to surround and pin the duo down so that the stronger ghosts could stab at them with their spears. However, without a single word being said, the duo changed their behavior. The Qilin moved with guile, ensuring that only 2 or 3 ghosts faced it anytime, always moving to a new position whenever it looked like they would be surrounded while the Golden Devil focused fully on attacking the ghosts in question, striking at them with a series of stabs from his Ji and palmstrikes from his hands.

Horrified with the ease that the duo used to work their way through his strongest technique, Wu Gui reached within his robes and took out his Life Saving Treasure. A blood red horsetail whisk that he stole from the Sect Treasury before he fled. Hitting himself in the chest and spitting out a mouthful of heartblood, Wu Gui forcefully activate the Treasure, using the heartblood to call froth the ghosts of the cultivators sacrificed to create the whisk.

A sense of dread filled the air as the ghosts took form, each as red as blood and radiating cultivation levels of Foundation Establishment and Core Formation. Letting a shriek of mad glee, Wu Gui gloated in triumph. " You should have accepted my offer Golden Devil! Now know despair and DIE ! You ruined my life-saving treasure, i'll be sure to use you and your beast to forge a new one! "

With a wave of his hand, Wu Gui commanded the ghosts to attack, his eyes glinting with malice at the thought of the duo before him being torn by the blood ghosts. As the ghosts approached the duo, to the confusion of both Wu Gui and the Golden Devil they slowed and gradually came to a halt. The blood ghosts surrounded the Golden Devil and after a moment all so opened up a path through the ghost horde towards Wu Gui who's maniacal laugh died with a whimper.

Sweating badly as the Golden Devil made his way along the path opened up by the blood ghosts, Wu Gui sacrificed another mouthful of heartsblood to forcefully activate another layer of restrictions on the whisk, torturing the blood ghosts souls with it in an attempt to force them to protect him from the Golden Devil. Despite the flashes of pain that appeared on the faces of the blood ghosts, not a single one wavered in their decision panicking Wu Gui even further as the Golden Devil sped up at the looks of pain on the faces of the Blood Ghosts.

One by one the Blood ghosts started to collapse and dissipate, the souls maintaining their form extinguishing from the pain. However, regardless of how many of them disappeared the path towards Wu Gui remained opened. Dropping to his knees as the Golden Devil approached within the range to strike at him with his Ji, Wu Gui began kowtowing and begging for his life

" Please Great Lord, spare me! I swear i'll change. i will enter a Buddhist sect and pray of the souls of my victims, I'll devote myself to charity! I'll save 10 times the number of souls that i killed, only have mercy on me Great Lord! "

" No. " With the only word spoken to him since the battle began, the Golden Devil thrust his JI through Wu Gui's back pining him to ground in his begging posture before pulling out a Yin stone and capturing Wu Gui's soul as it left his body.

" We'll keep our words. Your soul will go to the forges. "

As the Golden Hero made his way towards her and the other slaves, Mei Gui was filled with awe at the way he dealt with the Master. He was just like the stories Grandpa Cui had told her about! Of Golden Cultivators roaming the lands and righting wrongs, killing evil doers and freeing the oppressed.

" Mama mama! Look Grandpa Cui was right! " In her joy, Mei Gui turned her head towards where her mother should be before freezing to the halt at the empty space before her. Tears filled her eyes as she remembered what had happened just a few hours ago.

Mei Gui stumbled away in fear as the Master lowered his hand and started bellowing orders. As the other mortal slaves were driven towards the center of the camp with the lashes of the cultivators, Mei Gui made her way towards them seeking out the reassuring presence of her mother and father.

" Mei Gui ? Why are you here ? Shouldn't you be serving the lords as the attending servant tonight ? " Her mother's worried tone calmed her heart, rushing into her embrace Mei Gui muttered her reply softly.

" I spilled wine on the Master's hand, i think he was gonna kill me before Lord Zhao returned with news about an approaching group. "

" Oh Mei Gui, how could you be so careless... ? Our ancestors must be looking down on you for the Master to be distracted by the news. Stay here, we'll hide you for now. Hopefully the Master would forget about it by sunset. "

Relaxing in the arms of her mother, Mei Gui couldn't help but wonder who were these Golden Devils whose presence had spared her from death ?

Her answer came with the rise of the sun. Throughout the remaining hours in the night, Mei Gui had watched as the Lords prepared for battle with Lord Yang burying his scorpions in the sands including the Giant Scorpion that ate her uncle and with Lord Wei wandering around the camp setting up glowing patterns that faded into the air.

The preparations were interrupted by the shout of a sentry and the arrival of a Golden flash far off in the horizon. As Mei Gui watched, the Golden speck got closer and closer eventually revealing Lords clad in Gold mounted on Fantastic Spirit beasts, appearing just as the half-whispered tales told by Grandpa Cui described. As a lone hero demanded Master's surrender, Mei Gui couldn't help but hope that their freedom was at hand.

Alas, her hope were shattered by the bellows of rage that came from the Master who's new orders sent the entire camp scrambling. Just as she cowered within the arms of her mother, she felt something grab her and yank her out of the crowd of mortal slaves.

" So you're the cattle that annoyed Boss. Just because Boss was to busy to give you the punishment you deserve doesn't mean you get away from it. Luckily, i have need of a mortal slave's help. Follow me, do what i say and i'll put in a good word for you. "

Looking up at the voice, Mei Gui found herself staring at Lord Wei who seemed to have taken her silence as assurance and was starting to stroll off while beckoning for her to follow. Before she could make a move, Mei Gui found her parents stopping her.

" Lord! The girl is young and unlearned, she might make mistakes that ruin your great plan. Use me instead. " Her mother's offer made Lord Wei turn back, the sheer weight of his irritation driving everyone to their knees.

" Alright fine. But you're old and your essence is only worth half of the girl. I need one more person before i'm willing to leave the girl be. " Without speaking a word, her father handed her over to another slave and stepped out of the crowd.

" I'll do it lord. "

" Excellent! Follow me here and put these blindfolds on! Don't even think of peeking on my secret arts. " so saying, Lord Wei forced her parents to their knees and started drawing more of the glowing patterns while chanting in a strange tone.

The sound of thunder drew Mei Gui's attention to the front of the camp, the sight of the lords being sent scattering drawing a quiet gasp from her. Within the span of a few moments, Mei Gui observed sights that would remain in her memories forever.

A Great Golden Soldier taking down the enormous scorpion known among the slaves as Thousand Eater

Flashes of light and invisible attacks that wiped out the rest of Lord Yang's Scorpions

The sight of Lord Wei cutting her parents throat !

The remembrance of her parents death drove Mei Gui to her knees, sobbing openly and loudly now that the Master was dead and no longer able to stop her from expressing her grief. Wailing at her pain, her freedom and that her parents were no longer there to enjoy it with her, that it was her fault that they were dead.

By the the time she came to her senses, Mei Gui found herself riding on a Great beast with a Golden Hero as he led the other heroes and the mortal slaves away from the ruins of her past life.

" Are you awake young one? I've heard of what happen from the other mortals. I apologize, it was my decision to confront Wu Gui. I gave him time to prepare, the death of your parents is on my head. "

The mention of her parents bought fresh tears to her eyes, masterfully controlling herself and remembering her mother's lesson about politeness, she replied to the Golden Hero as gracefully as she could muster

" Its not your fault Lord, we all had a inkling that they would be going to their deaths. They did it because they loved me. If Lord had chosen to attack suddenly, i fear that Master would have killed all of us. We only survived because the Master believed he could beat you and your men. "

" I see. You are wise for your age young one. Yet I am a Cultivator of the Golden Devils, and we know that all actions have consequences. I vow that i will ensure that you are not left destitute upon reaching Clan Lands, i will ensure that you will have a trade. " So saying, the Golden Devil reached into a saddlebag and pulled out a book as well as a small pouch.

" Treat this as were-gild, i took this from the body of the one you called Wei. Most of his Arts and items were Blood Path and we had it destroyed, these however are untainted. It's a secret book on Arrays and a pouch of Spirit Stones, you should be able to trade these for a wealthy life to any array shop in the Clan. Or if you want to tread on the path of cultivation, these would give you a start. "

Mei Gui looked with renewed interest at the items in her hands. They represented Power, a way to ascend beyond the realm of mortals, a way to become someone who mattered, for it is the cultivators whose actions would shake the realm. She knew that the road would be tough, that she will suffer, she will fight, she will bleed and she might even die before achieving any of her dreams, but the chance offered was something she could not pass up.

Hands gripping tightly to the gift, with emotions choking her throat, Mei Gui made her choice

" I accept the offer lord, i would like to be a Cultivator "

" Very well. I have a acquaintance that is a formidable Array Cultivator. If you're willing to share the lore of the book with him, he would be willing to accept you as a disciple, guiding you in the ways of cultivation. The dedicated teaching he can provide will probably help you more then entering the Clan as a general cultivator. "

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" Sigurd! Are you in ? "

The deep rumble of the voice calling his name woke Sigurd from his daze. Raising his head from it position on the counter, Sigurd looked up to see Xiao Yi entering his shop with a small girl in tow.

" What do you want ? And who's the girl ? You kidnap her ? " Unusually, instead of accepting Sigurd's jeers like he usually did, Xiao Yi's face turned black for a moment before he gave his reply.

" No. My platoon and I saved her and about 20 Mortals from Child-Eating Butcher Wu Gui. Due to my attack, she lost her parents. I brought her here partially to make up for that. "

Xiao Yi's reply made Sigurd wince at his insensitivity, quickly looking to change the topic he called for one of his assistants to bring the girl into the shop for a meal and a bath. Turning back to Xiao Yi, Sigurd couldn't help but ask with a quizzical tone " You do know that i run an Array Shop right ? I'm not sure how bringing her here will do anything ? "

" She has this. " So saying, Xiao Yi threw out a book on the counter in front of Sigurd and gestured for Sigurd to open it up.

" Natural Arrays: Ways to seize the power of Nature by Wei An ?? This is a secret book of the Wei Clan! I heard that they were all gone and their arts lost! Their insight in forcefully manipulating naturally created Arrays to serve them could be what i need to enhance my own understanding! Where did you get this ? "

" The Wei were not all lost, but they maybe now. Got this from one of the Array cultivators with Wu Gui, the girl's parents were killed by him to power an array used to attack us. I gave it to her as recompense for their deaths. Since she wants to be a cultivator, i thought of bringing her to you. She's willing to trade the lore within the book for a slot as your disciple. " The nonchalant way Xiao Yi replied to his query drove Sigurd mad,

" ARE YOU INSANE ?? Do you know how much this book is worth to Array masters ? And you just gave it to her ? "

" Yes. Like i said, i need to make things right. Anyway, that's not all i'm here for. I got this after killing Wu Gui " Reaching to his hip, Xiao Yi removed a Red Horsetail whisk from where it was hanging and dropped it on the counter.

" He used it to summoned Blood Ghosts of Foundation Establishment and Core Formation, but strangely they didn't attack me. Instead they assisted me in getting to Wu Gui so i could kill him. I'll like you analyze it. "

" That's interesting, let me see what i can find. " Picking up the whisk, Sigurd bought it to an jewelled Array build into a stone table. Putting the whisk in the center of the Array, he let his Qi flow as he looked into the whisk's past.

Flashes of memories blossomed before him, scenes of blood and slaughter, of one after another Blood Cannibal using it to call froth blood ghost to kill Mortals, cultivators or even their own kin all in the pursuit of greater power. Gritting his teeth and forcing his mental will pass the images, Sigurd reached deeper. Seeking out the origins of the whisks, for a reason on why the Whisk behaved in the fashion described to him by Xiao Yi.

A group of Clansmen laughing with each other as they patrol.

The same group fighting together, their formations a sight to behold

The group rising up the ranks and being dispatched on a mission to assassinate the rising Core Formation cultivator Child Gulper.

Failing the mission and being captured.

Each member being tortured within sight of each other, always aware but unable to help

Of finally being killed only discovering their souls were trapped.

Of how their souls were bound within the horsetail whisk that was used to absorb their blood and cultivation.

Of the years of slaughter and of acts that went against everything they believed in as Golden Devils.

And lastly, of being used by a Qi Condensation Cultivator instead of the usual Core Formation.

Coming back to his senses, Sigurd hastily reached out for the nearby pot of tea and poured himself a cup. Drinking about 3 cups before he felt calm enough to provide his analysis to the patient Xiao Yi who just stood silently.

" You're really lucky. This artifact is pure blood path. It was forged with the souls and blood essences of our Clansmen. If it wasn't for the fact that the user was a Qi Condensation Cultivator and not the required Core Formation Cultivator, you would be dead. Wu Gui's cultivation wasn't high enough to override the wills of the clansmen trapped within, so he could only attempt to force them with pain. "

" i see. In this case, please dispose of this artifact and set the souls of our kin free. I'll leave it to you explain to the girl her new status "

Sigurd hastily jumped to his feet and yelled for Xiao Yi to stop as he started walking to the door, causing the later to look back with a puzzled expression.

" Could you let me finish ? I've managed to convey what happened to the souls within the whisk and already made the offer to free them, they refused. They want to go with you instead, give me a moment and i'll be able to rework the whisk into something usable for you. It won't be as powerful as the whisk and would only be good for one use, but their souls will be free after that. "

" Why would they want that ? " Rolling his eyes at Xiao Yi's denseness, Sigurd laid out the whisk before him and began scribbling an array on it as he explained why the souls of those who had been used to commit blood acts would want to thank the person that freed them from the torment.

" Anyway, here. I'm done. I turned it into a tassel you can tie to that monstrosity you can a Ji. Using it as you are now will grant you the cultivation prowess of a Foundation Establishment Cultivator because that's all you can handle at the moment. If you can somehow not use it till you hit Foundation Establishment, you'll be able to get the cultivation prowess of a Early Core Cultivator. Now you can scoot. "

Shaking his head as Xiao Yi left, Sigurd hung up a CLOSED sign as headed to the back of the shop to introduce himself to his new disciple.

This was an attempt to write about Xiao Yi without using his POV even once, hence i apologize if anyone got disgusted by the Wu Gui parts since i was trying to convey the way a Blood Path Cultivator would have saw the world and the Mortals in it.

A bit of stealth setup for my next Good Seed if Xiao Yi dies as well. Mei Gui or her descendants would be my next good seed and as can be seen, she'll be Array focused. Sigurd was there to expand on the boon i'm asking for this turn, which is the Realm Surpassing Attack Buff. A bit of future proofing as well in case the starts align and Xiao Yi doesn't need to use it till his in Foundation.

Norse name so i can maybe bring in some Varangian Guard elements when i build the 2nd Good Seed. I was going to break each POV into it's own omake and have it as a 3 part short, so i can put up the fight scene before the good seed report. But since it's coming soon, going to post this for next turn

Thankfully Heaven/ @occipitallobe takes into account POV changes so Xiao Yi should still get that Fate Help for Tribulation purposes. 😅

Really considering using this alternative POV style from now on, it's definitely easier for me to write since i already have an imagery of what Xiao Yi is doing, so another POV is literally how i see the scenes. For example in the combat scene, it was way easier describing what happened compared to explaining each move and what it does like i did in the previous omake.

Hopefully, the 3 POVs here do give a good enough idea of what Xiao Yi is like. Posting now and getting back to read the Good Seed Report

Ferenike - It was a Foundation Building Expert, one of many who had hidden themselves away from the Cannibals during their reign.

Oh damn I have two Lifesaving Treasures? You are very kind.

As always, if I've missed someone, missed an omake request, etc, let me know. I expect if I'm 95% accurate I'll make 1 or 2 mistakes each time - there are a lot of Good Seeds.

Now..

First up - Good Seeds from last time...

Oh wow, the numbers of injuries and death this turn.

LOL! I know want us to give a cup of brandy to each Righteous Core Cultivator when the head to the Oasis, as part of our efforts to ensure the roads are safe :D

Oh SWEET! I succeeded! Woot! Having a tech bearing my Good Seed's name in the Clan Library, my legacy is secured!
Oh damn I have two Lifesaving Treasures? You are very kind.
Nice, that's going to be great for both the Raid and the upcoming trials for opportunity.
