[HALP] me! (WORM quest)

I really doubt Zion would care. It'd be more suspicious that we're asking him than whatever happened to Taylor, a normal shard wouldn't bother him. Or he's too depressed to care.

Yes exactly. We don't contact Zion until we're sure we can trick him. And maybe after stealing Broadcasts schtick.

I'm trying to think ahead about voting for research. We should be finishing Memetic Proxy Filtering 1 in the next update since we only need 25 points, and we get 18 from Intelligence. We also have 186 (I think) generic Research points with possibly more from an overflow on the MPF 1 roll.

I think the 2 major research projects are Stabilize Trigger (since we want that before Taylor triggers) and Memetic Proxy Filtering 2 (since it lets us keep up our defense against memetic hazards all of the time), but I'm not sure which one we should focus on for the update after the upcoming one. The generic Research points can go into either one or Focused Research 1, but I doubt it will be enough to finish off any of the projects by itself.

Maybe it'll be clearer which to vote for once people post omakes? I'm hoping to create one for Faster Research 2 because researching 3 projects at once would be really useful. I think TheGrandMage said that he has an omake for Basic Magic Theory 1 (150 Research points) prepared. If it gets at least 125 points, then maybe we can research both Magic and Psionics in one slot and hopefully get an overflow to use for another project.

The vote really does become clearer after Omakes. We were 154/300 for Human Modification before gaining 175 Omake points, which threw the votes weird.
We'll have to see how things even fall out from that to know what we need to spend a turn on next, etc.
Considering Psionics were also just completed by Omake and still need a turn, If I do well on Magic, we could probably knock all three out on split vote and still have overflow left to throw into Focused to offset the split roll. Of course, that depends if I write it this turn or do another PHO reaction, which depends if Host-side plot happens.
Well, it is a hero, after all. I'm sure it would, uh, try.
It doesn't know what that word means. Upload dictionary.exe to Zion, Zion is a Hero. Crisis averted.

Well that would be hilarious. Zion just shows up at Winslow, washes a golden light over Taylor, and leaves. Doesn't say anything.

No would ever believe Taylor wasn't a cape.

Maybe we could get him to call out Sophia as Shadow Stalker and condem her for being a terrible hero. In public. I don't know how we could get him to do that though.

Obvious omake fodder is for omakes. You seem like a very serious person w34v3r, but then humor is hard to pick up in text.

No one would actually do something this ballsy.

I've done the same thing this very quest, to be fair.

Ok, fair, we did get Panacea drunk. But come on, getting Zions attention and scrutiny is literally a failure condition. No one's going to casually do it.

I mean, we seem to be trying to force anime tropes into a quest where we can trip into a fail-state at any time.
I laugh at the idea that there is any semblance of sense or sanity in our voting.

Dude, no. Man, I know I say there's no party like a Cape Party, but you gotta party responsibly, man.
That is not partying responsibly.

I've been thinking, and I'm pretty sure that sending Valiant a dream about the younger members of New Wave holding an anti-bullying rally at Winslow was one of the votes that won. Maybe we should hold off on sending Taylor a dream about telling Danny for an update or two until we can find out whether New Wave is actually going to go through with it. I'd hate for Danny to pull Taylor out of Winslow just in time for Valiant and/or Panacea to show up there.

It feels a bit too elaborate for it to work, though I have an alternative solution, other than Gaea influencing Amy into being in the area we can just introduce ourselves to Taylor, tell her that her body has been messed with and our senses as they are now are too weak to find out the details, then we ask her to pass by Arcadia or something (And by elaborate I mean that we will be relying on trickery rather than just talking).

I still think that a voice speaking in Taylor's mind, telling her of how someone changed her body without her knowledge or consent, would push her into triggering.

@Vhalidictes, if everyone agrees, could we change future dream votes so that they happen in the early morning and at the start of the update instead of at the end of the update? It would make it a lot easier to plan out any dreams that way and would hopefully save you some work in adapting dream votes to whatever happened during the day.

Well, the idea was more along the line of us using Dream Master to introduce ourselves and while we are doing that we bring up the fact that we need to have a check up on her body because we found something weird in her body and it seems to have been put there haphazardly.

This. . . is a really good idea, actually. Do the last day's dreams before the new day, so we see their influence right away, and each chapter is self-contained. Then we don't have to wait a day to see the fallout from a dream. It means we're always reacting to the last day and planning the next instead of having that one bit that's technically a day ahead.

Ducats, everyone, thank you for showing this newcomer the error of his ways. I understand now.

On Sufficient Velocity, there is no one to be trusted, and no scheme too mad. Catgirl Rune-Chan, Tower of Babel, getting Zion to pull a gotcha on Sophia: no plan goes too far.

Let Vhal tremble in the shadow of our amusement, what need have we for plot when we can flip the table.

[] ADC Eidolon and reveal the truth of Zion and Cauldron on national television.

P.S. But seriously we should talk to Taylor soon. This is getting out of hand and we need her cooperation to accomplish anything on Earth in a reasonable timeframe.

This is a great idea, and I'll do this from now on. It's a little too late to re-work Chapter 10, but I'll make this the future default.

Thanks for the thought!

Gino, I'll do my trembling best. Oh, and I'm sorry to report that the table is... no longer with us.

(This will make sense once I post the newest update.)

So we weren't supposed to figure out Taylor was messed up for a long time? But human biology and modification are such low hanging fruit... I mean what were you expecting to happen? Even if you didn't give us the hint we would have found out.

I am pretty sure that the host modification research was something that I suggested independently of anything Vhal said, so it is more the fault of my speed-running/sequence breaking ways rather than Vhal tipping his hat too much.

I forgot that we made big lists of possible research. Truly, it's all our fault.

I've lurked before, but this is the first quest where I was one of the big debaters from the start. It feels weird to have actually have an influence that ended up derailing the plot.
