Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

[X] Wait, no, humans don't taste like rainbow, so whatever that thing was, it at least wasn't human. You'll need to consult Seyun to make sure of the actual level of personhood those things had, but they are, at best, suspect.

Our big boss certainly hated those things anyway!

And explain to Imaginary that no, you had not been cannibal until that last moment. And probably are not one even now.
-[X] You eye at the tongue for a moment. Well. Now that you are more clear-headed, maybe just one more bite would give you a better idea about what just happened...

I love all of you guys and girls :D

Lelouch? I don't want to alarm you, but I think Oramus might have spilled some Metagaos on your Exaltation by mistake. :p
Oramus can be certainly voracious like Metagaos, but not as much.

It is in the Impossible Dragon's nature to scorn and devour the Wyld, after all.

Well, that was delightfully horrifying. Like, seriously, it very well catches the otherness of Oramus as a dragon from beyond existence that eats faeries.
Thank you, I was aiming for that and I'm happy that I succeeded.

Hurrah! One of my favorite-quests-ever has been ressurected! Again!

I'm sensing a pattern here. :V

But more seriously, great to see this quest running once again, @Alexander89. On the vote, I like the "don't taste like rainbow" vote, but I would like to make one small addition. Inspired by Gnarker's sub-vote-suggestion, just in the completely opposite direction.

Basically, we slurp down the delicious chaos-stuff, and try to make a relevant roll (probably occult + int, boosted by some basic excellency) hopefully benefitting from "equipment bonus" by trying our power with experimentation in mind with the relevant testable object in hand. Which is currently bleeding its delicious crimson chaos-stuff everywhere, so better get it while its still fresh~

Oh, and mention about the relevant facts to Imaginary before he makes his own conclusions.
It can be done, sure thing.

Hey wait a minute, don't Both our daughters have some Craft excellencies they haven't really been able to use yet due to lack of having materials?

And since Lelouch is literally half way to Devil Tiger status, I'm gonna go ahead and bet that those afar he devoured just got shunted into his internal world for his daughters to play with.

That's going to be... Interesting. Our Coadjutator is gonna be so happy when he realizes he's not stuck inside Lelouch forever.

1. Only Anesidora has crafting in her themes - she's a genius player of games / strategist and tactician / weapons inventor, with very low direct combat potential. She was aiming to do something with the Ghost essence that we got from that little excursion a little while ago, though we don't know what she'll end up making from it.

Sinnihtáre on the other hand is a manipulation/deceit spec social build / musician / high dexterity scythe user.

2. The Devil Tiger stuff may not happen in this particular universe. We're using Earthscorpion's Pantheon homebrew in this quest, which while not incompatible with the Devil Tiger stuff is IMO superior to it and can replace it outright if the QM wants. Regardless, Devil Tiger stuff starts at Essence 6, so it's likely beyond the scope of the quest.

Love, love, LOVE this update! I really got the sense of being completely pulled under by something much larger and greater than ourselves - in this case, the influence of Wise Oramus, who is so clearly inhuman in the sense of being very much "other" rather than outright malicious (at least toward non-raksha). This sort of intense in-the-moment writing is definitely one of the things I like best about this quest.

Also, we completely missed that lunar at the party. If we're interested in lunar goings-on, then we clearly need to check the guest list for leads after we've run some damage control.

It seems like in-universe Lelouch consciously chooses most of his charms, but some others he just happens to receive without his full knowledge or consent (like Beautiful in my Way, Fourth Soul Devil Domain, and he didn't seem initially aware of the hypnotic effects of Dual Gaze Paradox if I recall correctly). Is there a pattern to which charms fall into which category, and if so, is Lelouch aware of that pattern yet? Because I seem to recall that we recently completed Living Paradox. Lelouch, if you let a little not-quite-cannibalism upset you, then I have some bad news about the next time you take an open wound...

Oh, I meant to respond to this!

So, I lost track of it between the (temporary) death of the quest and the general time between updates, but is our current disguise still viable/useful? I'm wondering if we should keep it under a "commonly used disguises" category on our char page and limit ourself to like... 3~4 total to keep own the (potential) bloat.

Not really, no. Valyria Dyeport does not exist, and for several reasons people are going to look her up and try to find out who she is. Those being...

1. She's an extremely beautiful (Appearance 5 + Beautiful In My Way) and apparently single young Baroness sent to Area 11 by her family, obviously to look for a marriage. Interested men are going to want to find out more about her.
2. She just utterly trashed two Countesses in Social Combat in front of the Earl who was throwing the party. (As an aside, I wonder if Milly has met them - they were probably catty with her at some point, I'd bet. She'll get a laugh out of it if she finds out.)
3. She was just kidnapped by two apparent terrorists, and the police are going to want to get her statement. As Lelouch mentioned, they might try to check on Valyria's identity.

So this disguise has gotten far too much attention to likely be of further use, outside of some possible niche uses that I'm not sure would likely come up.

Man, now that I think about it, the nightly news is going to be interesting. This'll get reported on and be a topic of gossip for weeks among the nobles, I'd bet.

Actually, on a similar note, do we have any way or want to take advantage of all of that? Either as her or as Lelouch?

We have the general "Fuck Britainia" mission (I'm sure we could find some way to spin it into this, but would it be worth the time and effort), we have our Hell cults (draw attention away from them?), we're seeking out the Abyssals, we have the Lunars we're kind of half-heartedly paying attention to whenever they show up...

Also, if identities start appearing and disappearing like her, that'll probably start getting special attention focused on the area in general, which is something to think about as well.
