Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Not sure if high school is the best place for Molly right now. It's going to be difficult to hide the changes she's undergone from people who are familiar with her, plus we should take every opportunity we can to learn anything Harry can tell us about anything supernatural. We're flying blind, and that's never a good state of being.

[X] Skip, you have more important things to do
-[X] Go talk to Harry, you have a lot more to tell him and it would be nice to do so without Mom listening in

We've got Occult 5. Practically speaking, we know more than him about the supernatural when he doesn't have access to Bob. Somehow.

This made me reread some old Exalted fanfics and I noticed that most Infernals seem to get some physical mutations with their ascension, mostly traits from their Adjunctor.

Is that not the case in Exalted vs. WoD anymore?

You know hideous secrets from the dawn of time that would break most mortal brains. You know how to walk into the palace of Emma-O without tripping its traps and how to converse with its dread sovereign. You know how to take apart a summoning ritual that one can use on Outsiders character by character and rebuild it to call something else. What you do not know is who the Alphas are or where Bok's shop is.

I think it's already been fairly well established that whatever Occult knowledge we gained doesn't apply to the current state of the supernatural world. Her Exaltation thingy, whatever that is, has been out of circulation for a long, long time.

I guess it's a lot like being a preeminent 21st century scholar in <insert relevant field of study> then waking up after 3,000 years in stasis. You don't stop being a scholar, you just have a lot of catching up to do.

Mechanically speaking, however, I would assume that the sky high Occult rating would make it very easy for Molly to absorb new knowledge related to this field, right?

Yes, though in your case it is more like a 21st century scholar waking up and discovering technology has regressed to the bronze age for some reason

Edit: Damnit, thats going to be another conversation...

"I don't need to go to school because my job is going to be Demon Emperor of my own Kingdom of Hell and killing or scheming against evil before they succesfully do so to me. How long? Oh, forever if I'm lucky, maybe beyond."

Getting some normalcy back is all well and good, but we probably need to adjust a little first. Stuff like ensuring we still look like we're paying attention while talking to Usum, avoiding situations where we might leave obvious signs that Molly's colder than a corpse, and generally getting our twitchiness level down.

It'd be a real shame if someone startled Molly and she reflexively drew her sword on them or something.

When things start getting really wacky we may need to invest in the SEP field generating charm just to interact with Molly's old friends without getting splashed with holy water on a regular basis by scared teenagers.

Welcome to the life of an YA protagonist :V

How long do infernals live anyway?

I was under the impression that most exalted has incredibly long lifespans as a base, but weren't ageless unless they took charms significantly above our max essence rating that had that effect.
By word of DP:
They can live as long as they desire to fulfill their goals. Nothing holds their leash, not the dark powers of the Yozi, not the Great Curse.
Canon Infernals could live only for up to 150 years.

We are different, it seems.

If we go to a hell we could come back as a Wan-Kuei ( without Exaltation though), but much more likely we are just dead and our Exaltation finds a new host.

I'd rather achieve Transcendence towards Lethe or plunge myself to Oblivion than playing as a Wan Kuei. The mechanic splatbook for them is notoriously God-awful. Better become a Mummy, at least we can still be goddamn overpowered.

According to the FAQ in the Revised edition of the Exalted vs World of Darkness ebook, an Infernal exalt can live for two to three thousand years at their base state. Or forever, I guess, if they become the true Demon Emperor.
