[X] Write in, Plan Viser!
-[X] Had you not been what you are, you'd have joined in a heartbeat. As it was, they can likely see well, what you do. Joining directly would have implications on many fronts. Instead, would they be willing to accept you as an aid, possible protector, sorta kinda joined wink wink nudge nudge. Basically you like them lots, but you don't want them to be overwhelmed by your official presence.
-[X] Lydia is naturally someone different though, and she has her own voice! She also has your very complete support.
I Want to keep friendly terms with the order both to help and to gain them as allies, but i really do fear that associating with us will bring attention from powerful entities on it.
It's not like they have an online registry or acknowledgment under the accords. As far as the supernatural is concerned they're a half step above herd of wild animals, not a nation or organization.
Hanging around them is riskier than joining because the level of association is very similar but with less certainty we'll actually do stuff for them from an outsider perspective.
[X] Yes, join the Order of the Cauldron
For now I think we should network, establish a reputation, and get in a with the little people.
Someone with Molly's power and no interest in mutilating people's souls (for the most part) is a rarity they could really use. On a pragmatic level it's also good business for us because we can start offering the desperate actually reasonable deals for stuff.
Being effectively the only option that will give real results without a hidden hook would let us corner the market fairly easily.
Which is a net positive for everyone as long as we don't start abusing them.
Yes, they are, and their best defence is obscurity, followed by not being worth the effort.
None of these people would be anything less than canon fodder when faced by a Faerie Lady or a Black Court Vampire. And we are not yet powerful enough to protect them.
We generate attention like nobody else and so joining the organisation will do nothing but bring them harm in the long run.
Better to remain independent, but able to be called on if needed.
They've already got attention because we built a god in one of their senior member's living room.
They're also fodder for everyone; being run over by a tank might do more damage than being mauled by a bear, but they're such overkill for guys like this that the difference barely matters.
I think they'd be safer because if it gets to the point where our reputation is enough to get them attacked then it's also enough to protect them from their usual predators.
A smaller number of more powerful beings would be involved, and would be calculating their actions against our potential reprisals.
People would get hurt, but I'd be surprised if the net number that die horrible deaths doesn't go down by that point.
Then there's the long term improvements. If we start getting integrated now then by the time we have the broader charms we'll have greater leverage to use them.
Remember that minor practitioner doesn't mean they're toothless, it means they don't have the magical breadth of a wizard. Getting some people swole enough to summon demon hit squads or burn down apartment buildings is technically in their reach with the right support.
I'd like to see a wyldfey try chasing someone into our hell realm, or a black court vampire play tag with a few evokers roided up on VEE.
