Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Offer them a meal, you can make your offer while they are eating, the hunger at least a little dulled by the act

I think that it would count for MIS if we tell them to spread word about the free food and they go to do it, it would work as a sort of free trial.

What exactly were we going to offer them? I forgot.
Spreading the word might not be the best idea right now, we need to get some experience with wrangling this sort of minion and establish some infrastructure before we put out a persistent call like that.

A question - What exactly are we doing to the platform? Because as far as I am aware the deal was to fix the place up. There are a lot of meanings to that idea. Are we just cleaning it? Super easy and people helping will be super helpful. Are we trying to restore power and services? Hard, people will be unhelpful, and we end up ether shelling out money for utilities or commit crime. Are we filling the inside of the platform with beautiful art? Cool, but not sure it falls under 'fixing'.

Though I kind of want to turn our crafting excellency on making some bitchen cool wall art.
Based on this:

  • 1 AP would be enough to get the supplies there and ensure the general security of the area (white court dregs, ghouls etc...), Porter will see Molly starting to fulfill the job she has taken on
  • 2 AP is where you start work in earnest cleaning the place up and doing structural repairs
  • 3-4 AP is where you start to work in actually replacing the physical infrastructure in the tunnels
  • 5-6 AP is when you improve the infrastructure, things like ensuring internet and cell connectivity
  • 7-8 AP is when you deal with tapping the Dragon Nest and start building fully magical infrastructure like the alchemy laboratory

I think we promised a pretty comprehensive upgrade. Decorations aren't explicitly listed, but making the replacement stuff look good is sort of implied on some level.

We should be worried if she gets XP too, she will roll more successes against us if that happens :V

Before we know it our minions will work for her instead.

Honestly, whenever we have a couple action points that aren't earmarked for something urgent or life-or-death... I might be interested in going a little over the stated amount. Besides the sheer level of cool associated with building a lair-slash-temple-complex for a dragon, which is a very relevant reason for a teenager to go overboard by itself, this is an excellent testbed for figuring out what we can do anywhere else. Anything that we can put into play here we can repurpose elsewhere with even less time, hitting the ground running.

If we are building additional lairs and shelters for whatever gribblies might choose to walk within our shadow then I want the most blinged out Viceroy Dragon possible basking at our network's hub.

We... probably need to find a whole cow to cook for His Resplendent Scaliness though and really put on the mojo if we want to impress the dude who doesn't do food. Hell, we'll probably need an in with wholesalers in general.

I think that the 'dragon' is actually an earth elemental? I don't think that it eats meat although it likely would accept the offering.

Talking about it like you already own it is very in theme for the Exalted. :V
Might be tricky to negotiate.

We keep talking like the dragon nest is already ours, but technically we're doing remodeling for the current owner. We still need to talk that guy into working for us before we can just use it for whatever.

As the Infernal collects the possessions of the sinners around her, she liberates them from the burden of desire for those things. System: Whenever the Infernal successfully takes an action to remove an item from someone else's possession – such as by picking their pocket, convincing them to hand the object to her, robbing their house, disarming them in combat, or even destroying one of their belongings outright – she may reflexively pay 1 Essence to activate this Charm. Her player rolls Wits + Larceny against a difficulty of the owner's Willpower. Success causes the target to forget he owns or indeed ever owned the item, and any attempt to talk him into believing otherwise is made against difficulty 9.
It would not be that hard for us to take possession.
Edit: Actually we have no Larceny skill and our wits aren't that great either. So yes it would be hard even with the charm.

Hrm. What would a similarly bolstering tribute be for an earth elemental, the same way that the finest of foods raises the human spirit and renews the body?
Diamonds and gems would be my guess.

Would these be measured by the quality and material properties of the gem, do you think, or would it be more tied to their having formed naturally? Marinading in the juices of the world over hundreds of millions of years of history, born from forgotten volcanic hellscapes or from the forests that would have called the dinosaurs passing upstarts until they too passed.

If we are going by the gods in exalted then the material value likely doesn't matter at all only the act of worship the offering represents. So a single heart felt "thank you" could be a better offering then the biggest diamond in the world if the person offering it don't care about that diamond, but hates thanking people.

Molly with her Occult 5 would know better.

For thematics for the rebuild of the dragons nest we might want to pull on manse associations from main exalted just for what it looks like. The associations for earth from the second edition books are [Earth: rock, sand, architecture, toughness, underground, ritual, tradition, internal, reliability, stillness, claustrophobia, humanity, civilization, tools, training, dedication, eternity, landmarks, white and
brown, faith, mountains, goats, small furred animals, burrows, serpents, Zenith Caste, Maiden of Battles,
right angles, caves, cities, farms, domestication, gems, white jade, lead]

We have access to Mouse right now. Before we bring him back home we should ask him for advice on how to pay Harry Dresden back. Both what he needs/wants and how to get him to accept it.

Did you notice? Mom argued against, but after losing the argument, went to get her armor and hammer and join us, refusing to leave us alone, and even did her best to face her dragon fear, to stand and politely answer the greeting of Porter. she is still here, keeping an eye on this humanitarian aid to not so human entities.

For all that she is a human and NOT a chosen, wielding divine sword and having divine providance, Michael Carpenter's wife is as much a Good Woman as he is a Good Man. She is the 'Baddass Normal' of that family.

She tries, though it should be noted she has more of a temper than Michael and she is a lot more inclined to be vengeful especially when someone hurts her family. She would not really be a sword candidate, not that this is in any way an indictment of her character, most people are not fit to bear an angel in a vessel of steel.

But that does in no way lessen her qualification for an Exaltation, if there are any out there.
"Great, but definitly not perfect" is almost the definition of what they are looking for.

the number of ppl that ARE worthy of wielding one of the swords is TINY.
I was going here with how she is still awesome, and also underappreciated.

Also, im super curious about her family... and kinda hoping for future reunion.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTARY
They come slowly, furtively, steps lost in the sounds of your work, though not near so careful as to escape Mouse's ear. He barks once sharply as a pale gaunt face, hair much to dirty to tell the color plastered around it appears around the corner and then snaps back as they notice that they had been seen.

"Are there more of them out there?" you ask Mouse
He taps a single number into Burny's keypad:
"Nine"
We saw 1 ghoul, and Mouse detected an additional nine. Total party number of ten.

The ghouls we scared off earlier that Kattrin was employing as guards en route to Cindy's cell numbered 8.
This means one of several things
a)This is a different pack, with the first pack still out there
b)This is the first pack, but it added two additional members in the space of a week or so.
c)The pack we saw was a detachment of a bigger pack

I guess we'll see if Molly recognizes any of them.

As long as you can remember, and if your mother is to be believed, even before that you have always hated schedules, with a passion usually reserved for kale salad and Nickelback and yet once Clippy wakes you,
Call out. Nickelback were very popular in the 2000s, with Billboard calling them the most popular rock band of the 2000s

This of course means that there's probably a Nickelback fan in her family or among her close friends.
Even better if they all are and she's the snob. Bonus points if she gets Dresden working electronics and he buys or is gifted a Nickelback album or five in CD or vinyl. And both he and Bob like it.

I am looking forward to the arguments between her and Bob or Lydia or Daniel or Mathew about good music.
Super duper bonus points if the only person who agrees with her about Nickelback being trash is Charity
:V

We really, really should do a collaborative work with her.
We are not yet at the point where Charity is comfortable with the casual use of magic
Until then, our best option is to use it mundanely around her to habituate her to its existence and its applications in non-dangerous ways.

I disagree mostly because I regularly do construction work. Yes the site might be dangerous if we were making apartment complexes or the like, but most of the dangers of construction work disappear when you get down to small scale of 10 or less people without heavy machinery. Most the dangers are matters of coordination issues. If everyone is doing the same job instead of desperately trying to do everything in parallel to beat a deadline the issues just aren't there.

And yes we do have heavy machinery created by essance, but that isn't the same at all.
I dont agree. At all.

If we're dealing with mystical/thematic weight?
I suspect that precious jewels fabricated by a Celestial Exalt are a lot more mystically significant than a naturally occurring stone of the same quality. Certainly a lot more rare.
