Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Can someone remind me what kinds of powers we can provide someone using the IDU Charm?
This was my original template for Olivia as a fomarch:

This was the basic build I did back in October when I was still learning the system, using Sorcerer rules.
I havent updated it since (there's at least two mental defence Gifts that should be there), but it gives some idea what I was benchmarking her for there.

Note that this isnt a Molly Fomarch.
Given as she has especial compatibility with the energies involved? Those are going to get a bit special.

Fomori are meant to be made in mass with maybe 2-3 of of 50 being a real powerhouse getting traits that work together.
Fomori are meant to be made however the plot and the GM/QM happens to want them to be made.
There are solo fomori who work alone, pack fomori, mooks and boss monsters.
There are social fomori, combat fomori and command fomori.

There are fomori made of people and fomori made of vampires, with vampire disciplines.
None of this "fomori can only be this way" assertions.

Can someone post the description for IDU please? I don't remember what the catch was just that there was one in favor of the infernal.

Or deceive the enemy about how heavily armored the molly is. Of course, this requires a target who does not know about her super durability... But in any case, this allows us to hide the armor and its weak points until the moment of an anima flare... Or simply arrange a transformation of the magical infernal maiden and roll out our combat outfit from under the illusion.
Molly could even use it to go into combat wearing a Chainmail Battle Bikini™!

Or at least appearing to. :p

Well that makes sense when you don't care about the people and can't reroll.

From memory the biggest one would likely be that Molly can rip the power back at any time and she doesn't have to spend essanse to reduce the agg damage if she doesn't want to. If we empower someone they are very much at our mercy in many ways.

Also all the proposed powers have side effects, but those won't be a problem so long as they remain loyal with Mercy In Servitude.

Here:
inner devils unchained (••••)

Monsters lurk in every heart. Empowering a person's inner darkness, the Infernal makes that monster real. She must approach a mortal and breathe into their mouth to use this Charm. Her victim's shadow twists and distorts, becoming a demon of Kakuri before climbing into the target's flesh and inflicting a brief, agonizing transformation.

System: Spend 3 Essence while within kissing distance of the target. Over the course of a few minutes of indescribably painful transformation, the Charm's victim becomes a bakemono – a sort of monster that shapeshifters know as fomori. Rules for fomori can be found on pages 428-439 of W20. The Infernal may reclaim her gift of inner darkness, making the bakemono human again, but this inflicts a number of levels of aggravated damage equal to (7 - the Essence the Exalt opts to spend undoing her curse).
The catch is that they become fomori/bakemono, who are Creatures of Darkness.
And CoDs are subject to Demonic Primacy of Essence.

Also serious question. Do we exercise Isibella'z demon and replace it with our shadow?

Our demon is probably much easier to live with.

Well that makes sense when you don't care about the people and can't reroll.
The charm cost 3 essence to use, and removing the effect cause 7 Aggravated - 5 max essences spent = 2 Aggravated damage that they have to deal with every time we want to reroll. With a total cost of 8 essence to reroll once. It not something we can afford to spam. And even that requires Tiffany playing healbot to stop the damage racking up and killing them.

So not really a catch at all.

Well, except for dealing with friends and family.
Not for Molly. Not even for the people we empower either so long as they remain loyal. If they stop being loyal the catches are big and bad. Fomori/bakemono/ jade vampires all come with their own derangements, but Mercy In Servitude handles that so long as they remain loyal.

That's not unreasonable if we're producing bespoke minions. It might take a week or two to get someone properly dialed in, but that's something we can work on in between other projects.

The Charm doesn't produce the desired result? No worries, revert it and try again tomorrow.

Essentially.
Its one of the issues for Infernals; surround yourself with CoDs and you are risking being surrounded by yes-men because they have issues telling you something is a bad idea even when you arent using an Excellency.

Our demon is probably much easier to live with.
She's still young, and leaving it as is avoids awkward political questions.

Not necessarily true.
Go look at the canon stat blocks for fomori breeds in W20 Book of the Wyrm.
Some fomori have base issues, some dont.

Turning your younger brother into someone that suffers a +2DC to social with you is very contraindicated to social amity.
Nitpick you are misrembering. Demonic Primacy of Essence reduces Molly's social DC when dealing with CoD it doesn't increase the DC on their social actions. They are just as able to say things to you as they ever were.

Point of correction:
Nowhere in the IDU charm does it say that you are limited to the amount of Essence you can spend in a turn.
Its not like the transformation and detransformation only happens in a combat turn, after all.

You CAN spend 7 Essence to avoid any damage to the person, if you so choose.

IDU is not a spammable charm, thats true.
Its designed for making elite fomor one at a time. If we wanted to mass produce fomor, we'd take Spawning Pit Infliction and set up a hole in the ground to push people into. That one is free once you've set it up.

Okay so the question would be are we okay with Daniel living under the effects of DPE? I'm not seeing any downsides to making Daniel eat those social penalties considering what he tried pulling before. Actually it seems like a really good idea I am now on board with buffing Daniel later on though I feel like we should talk to the parents before turning their son into a COD.

Essentially the same thing.
If Molly has -2DC on dealing with Tom, Tom essentially has +2DC on dealing with her.
At least, thats how I remember the math working out.

That might be how the math works out, but that isn't how the narrative works outs and your entire argument has been based on narrative. Kings can in fact have friends who respect them without being yes men and yet still acknowledge that Molly's final word is law.

[X] Sure, you did promise Olivia five months ago
-[X] Also see if your brother is around. He was feeling a bit left behind too.

Im not.

Molly needs people around her who feel free talking to her.
There arent many of them around, and taking one of those people away is sub-optimal, even before you begin to account for the family friction that would occur in the aftermath of doing that to her brother.

And like I said to Yzarc, its an exceedingly bad look to external observers.
Its precisely the sort of thing that warlocks do to their families when they start to deteriorate.

And for what?
Molly can literally build him an Iron Man suit or a Blue Beetle scarab using Arcana rules. She can give him the combat powerset of a mid-tier supernatural if she puts her mind to it, without any of these drawbacks. Not top-end, but nobody is giving top-end.

The juice is not worth the squeeze.

Kings do not literally impose a supernatural effect on people.
I dont really think thats a useful comparison.

Difference completely without meaning. The DC shifts are the same and plenty of people thought Kings were supernatural.

What were Molly's school friends names again? I feel like we should offer to them as well.

Well Inner Darkness Unchained is explicitly a very painful process* so we likely aren't doing many rerolls unless someone is very determined (high willpower).

I don't think we know that people we use IDU can gain fomor powers.

I think they just have their P'o awakened and so have Demon Chi and can then learn Wan Kuei Demon Arts to learn other ways to use it and further raise their P'o to get more Demon Chi.

That's my baseline assumption. Demon Chi on its own can be spent to gain extra actions, damage successes, or strength successes. A person with an awakened P'o can also roll their P'o rating at difficulty 6 to resist magical mind control.

That's all pretty good, even if a person would only start off with one point of Demon Chi until they raise their P'o rating.

I think DP has had the awakening of the P'o replace the normal effect of the charm.

This is not a bad thing, as that means people with IDU applied can also become fomor using our Hell's procedures.

On Daniel, I think it'd prefer to try to manipulate events to get him an Exaltation.
