Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] No, this is not the time to follow creepy demon suggestions

Later. Possibly much later. That is something that would cause friction we don't need and, even from a practical perspective, we are scarcely in the position to make something worthy of a dragon old enough for our other half to remember. Oh, we could make something, something of real weight, but right now it would not do the corpse justice.

More present, though, is just the fact that it would bring out the worst in our mother.

I kinda wanna do this.

[X] Please tell me you made sure the body was properly handled. Creepy head demon says you can make good stuff from it, and I'm fairly sure that he's not alone there. Also, did you at least make a necklace out of a tooth for mom? Because that'd be totally cool.

It's also information I would prefer to learn about behind wards or a solid threshold, just in case.

We aren't the only ones who could do a lot with Dragon remains, after all, and there are all too many beings in this world who can learn information in various difficult to counter ways. Hell, just by saying the Dragon's name to us, there could be half a dozen entities that were alerted to the topic of our conversation and some of them might now be listening in, or preparing to use some flavor of supernatural ability to divine what was said here after we've already left.
Eh.
Siriothrax has been dead for around twenty years. His home and seat of power is unlikely to have been a secret, given as Gregor was able to deliver Charity for noms. And people know when he died, who killed him, and why.

Thing is?
His remains and hoard being unlooted is more or less a sign that there are Consequences to touching them. Best to figure out what those consequences are BEFORE making plans about all the cool stuff we could craft with his bones and scales.

Look at all the trouble the monks have gone to recover the bodies of their dead, and remember that Siriothrax had followers and fellow Dragons. There may well be ethical concerns as well as retaliatory risks to makimg stuff with the bodies of dead sapients, no matter how magically potent their remains might be.

After all, noone is suggesting tracking down the body of the previous Summer Lady, the one that Dresden killed, for crafting.
Or the bones of the previous Archive.
Or of the previous wielder of Fidelacchius.

Remember how in earlier editions of D&D wearing dragonscale tended to piss off any dragons you encounter big time? Pissing off Ferrovax would be really ill considered.

I mean I could care less about that the fact of the matter is we are working on an update time where weeks take a fair few updates. It's gonna be in real life months minimum before school year ends and by then I doubt we will care much about this particular thing.

Crafting stuff out of scales might be fine.
Dragons, if they are anything like reptiles or birds, will shed that stuff all the time.
Sorta like how people shed hair, or cut and sell it.

Bones, flesh and other remains seem dramatically more fraught, assuming we are using customs for the handling of human remains as a benchmark for how to approach the remains of other sapients.
At least, sapients that are not vampires anyway.

But thats just my musings.
We dont know how the Dresdenverse works in that regard in this AU, just that humans react badly to necromancers fucking around with human remains.

Looking forward to finding out.

Do we have any bullshit martial art opportunities in the future? Also if we learned from said monks while I think their stuff is cool is sorta kinda mortal stuff (even if it's likely derived from non mortal bullshit) worth it when we can put exp into exalted stuff instead? Do we get some kind of exp reduction due to having a teacher or directly given exp whenever we learn from them? Genuinely asking I don't know enough about this.

@DragonParadox since Siriothrax was old enough for Usum to recognize, does that mean he's old enough for Molly's occult score to hold lore on him?

We get told about Dragons being pillars of reality, but I'm curious about what they're supposed to be holding up in particular.

When Micheal killed him did some Angelic paper pusher have to do something like take over managing this "gravity" thing everyone's so attached to, or was it more like he was managing a spiritual ecosystem like a cosmic park ranger?

Also to the thread as a whole, we should make a dragon patch and try to convince Micheal to let us sew it to the inside of his work cloak (or at least his personal coat).

I know it's off brand for a true blue paladin to keep a fighter jet style tally, but he's a literal knight in shining armor who killed a Dragon to rescue a maiden fair and then lived happily ever after. If anything deserves an exception to the normal rules it's that. :V

In fact, once we normalize Molly's relationship with her parents a little we should absolutely give them shit about being so literally storybook about absolutely everything.

Hey, that's a great one! It's also a good way to lighten up a serious conversation.

In order to learn the arts of the Shih at all you need a teacher since they are not inherent to your exaltation. As for them being worth it or not it very much depends on which one. You do not really need a power to make one of your fists do aggravated damage when you have on call aggravated damage melee or ranged, nor would most of the healing spells matter until you get to the really high level ones. On the other hand the ability yo grab a wizard's evocation and throw it back at them is not one you have and it could be very lethal to the wizard some goes for throwing thunderbolts of divine, or in your case infernal, wrath.

Does still lead me to the question of how the exp would work like do we get exp to spend learning it while well earning it? Would we most likely have to divert exp from other things in the process? Are we better off once we have something asking the crown for well lost arts or way to more easily learn bullshit exalted martial arts instead?

We build findamentally for a weapon-fighter, so a decent portion of martial arts is less than relevant from the start, since going into brawling now would be a waste of XP.
Only melee-compatible arts matter.
In terms of defence we can also do everything better with our Charms, I think.

At most it would be worthwhile as a stepstone towards Celestial Martial Arts, but that seems far away.

Didn't someone already state that anyone strong enough to get past the curse has no need of it and those who want a piece of it are nowhere near strong enough to even attempt to take it?
[X] Yes, you want to make something great out of them
