Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

The update says, and I quote:
I took that to mean picking us out from a crowd as we wandered in locally.

The search radius and targets are nearly unknowable for them*. We showed up out of nowhere with no clear goals.

Translating that into placing goons at every airport in at minimum hundreds of kilometers in a few hours is ridiculous**. It would be very expensive, risky in terms of exposure, and uncertain in its returns.

With barely any time to plan and even less information to go on it's not a very attractive for an organization like them. If they acted like this then the red court would have murdered them all ages ago without needing any of the spy games.

The most likely options in my view are that someone who knew our plans leaked our target, or that they were already here for something else.

* Hell, we didn't even choose an approach that'd require us to be at either location until we were already in the country.

** It's not like they can just get on the phone and call each other after all. Secure communications are complicated as we've discussed, and unless they burned their emergency lines not every option is terribly quick either.

The quote wasnt since we entered Leon, it was since we entered Mexico.

It is plausible for an organization that we know is more than two hundred years old as of the events of canon Changes, especially if they have access to any minor talents with sensory or predictive capabilities. Especially if they are half-Reds.
Or even someone got a heads up from an oracular spirit.

It would be a significant and dangerous effort, but it is plausible.

Im reasonably sure they can just get on the phone.
Lots of burners and code words, like a drug cartel, with more detailed messaging over the Internet. But modern communications IS one of their strengths compared to the opposition.

And in the age of the Internet they can use electronic communication channels that are based outside of the Red Court's primary area of influence, and thus a lot more secure.

we also can use the uh fuck what was it called eh stuff to regen our essence right? How much time do you think we have where we can regen essence with the stuff?

Is it? @DragonParadox please clarify - would the infiltration phase be a separate scene from confronting the Fellowship?

Do you guys want to wait an hour or so? Scenes are a function of time and how much time you guys spend on any one thing is up to you. That said if you do decide to wait an hour there is the danger that you might draw vampires either though Molly's presence or the fact that there isa brotherhood hit team here right now.

If we had gotten to do the entire thing uninterrupted? One scene.
Here we got stopped and have to engage with the Fellowship in a narratively important sequence.
The rest is a different scene.

Thats my understanding

To my recollection, scenes in Exalted 2E last 20 minutes, or as short or as long as the QM chooses.
Single digit minutes, or hours, or possibly even days.
Its more narratively determined than a hard quantification of time.

EDIT
Same with WoD that I can find.
Narrative convention like in a movie scene; it lasts as long or as short as the QM wants.

Well in this case we need to qualify it for the purposes of how long it takes you guys to no longer count Essence spent towards flaring so I am going to go with an hour, that is long enough to get 4 Essence back if what is what you choose to do after the confrontation is done. The wider point is you guys can wait, that is Molly's choice, but keep in mind that others are moving and this gathering of Fellowship opperatives may have drawn others especially if their movements are known.

I think the intent here is that this is all one scene, and this means we need to be frugal with essence use. Better use it on excellency (which I don't think you are using). We can easily get foci for the Fellowship later.

I dont really think its necessary to bother with Excellency on people who you are already hitting with Demonic Primacy?

Cha/Man 3 + Etiquette 5 + Stunt 2 is 10 dice, and DPoE applies a -2 DC social bonus to.
And social perception is Perception 3 + Empathy 5 + Stunt 2 which is 10 dice at (-2DC Demonic Primacy) + (- 2DC All Things Betray). We look good to go.

Cant wait.
Arianna Ortega doesnt move on our say so, she has her own schedule.

Starting DC is likely high, though. Possibly as high as 9, even.
Nah. DC9 rolls are rare.
Molly rolling against the Rampire Andre La Blanche in the company of a Knight in Cleveland was DC5 with the benefit of Demonic Primacy, which would have been DC7 without it.

I'll let the QM determine if its necessary.
I dont think it will, but they can decide.

I'd guess the DC for intimidation is propably higher than the nice one here.

This woman looks ready to die against an ancient monster, so might expect being brushed off.

[X] Explain you aren't a one of the red court
-[X] Attempt to convince them that you aren't something that feeds on mortals and today you're just making use of the airport, not going after the people in it.
-[X] [Stunt]: Snorting, Molly all but rolls her eyes " You should get your eyes checked. Dark I may be, but a leech I most certainly am not. A catfish, maybe a heron depending on your metaphor, but not one of those squirming little creatures."
—[X] Taking a more serious tone, she continues "Out of sincerely held respect for your organization I will allow you to test my nature with items of whatever faith you follow, but you of all people should know that choice makes monsters of men before nature does. I have no taste for and even less interest in ending mortal lives"

I dont really find it plausible for Molly to submit to unknown tests by people she's never met before out in public.
Even shit that wont harm her can materially impede her plans by, for example, making her glow. Rather pass on that.

It's not like she doesn't know what they would be testing for, and Red Court vamps have easy tells to test for with something holy.

If she thinks it would make it less likely she has to hurt innocent people, it's plenty plausible. And failing to convince them without a confirming test (it would make sense for that to be a more difficult roll) - meaning needing to fight/escape or simply just having it take longer are also impediments.
