Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Dressing to intimidate is probably best, a good amount of what Molly will be dealing with in the future involves being terrifying and devilishly glorious.

Lean into it, the first time she kills something that shouldn't be capable of dying will make a whole bunch of things frightened of her anyway.

What about puzzle boxes?
We could make some literally fiendish ones :p
You bring a Hellraiser box into Chicago post-Splattercon, expect to get hunted down by a baying mob
:)
It's the stuff to make good impressions on a mayor, or a Saudi prince or some such. We will probably be rapidly rising in importance and social rankings.
Thats what Excellencies are for.
Those people straight up dont matter to Molly or her short to mediumterm plans.
By the time she has to deal with them, she'll have multiple means of exerting non-kinetic pressure.

It's not 5 mm radius. It's 5 mm thickness. The CVD technology is used to make diamond windows. The diameter can be as large as 10 cm. See the photo I linked in the previous post (and personally I have seen larger ones).

By volume thats in the range of double digit carats IIRC.
So, who else wants to see if Molly's dad would like a stealth armor shirt to go with Molly's stealth armor shirt? Given his occupation, some armor that doesn't look like armor might be useful for him, and it would be a nice thing we can do for him too which might help Molly's mindset a bit.
She can probably make one as a gift.
But dude works for the White God, which means that he benefits from whats essentially a Sidereal blessing on his goings on.
If he isnt wearing armor, he probably isnt going to need it that day.

Plus, Charity makes and maintains his regular armor.

With time and effort we could propably craft some proper panoply for him, since he doesn't seem to mind wearing heavier armor.

But that's for some later point.

The scene with Molly crafting her armor was really neat, @DragonParadox.

Anyone else want to see Molly craft a chainmail battle bikini. Not for practical purposes, of course, but just to freak out Charity? And maybe Harry?

[X] Just go in your Sunday best, that'll confuse them

I do love the aesthetic of a prim and properly dressed girl suddenly exploding in green fire.

Looking at the crafting rules, there are effects that allow awakening mortals or turning them into vampires in WoD terms.

I wonder if Molly could make something similar to give people magical talent. If so, could she use it on her own clones?

It's a fun image, but it isn't Molly.

If she dressed goth even when for everday-stuff against her mother's wishes, why would she switch to prim and proper now that she can accentuate it with hellfire?

Yeah, beyond it not really being Molly's style, I doubt she would want to give Charity the satisfaction of seeing her dressed "appropriately".

To associate it with her going out to fight monsters.

She will of course dress as usual when she doesn't, inadvertently forcing the association between Molly risking her life and the Sunday best.

Won't take long until Charity starts grimacing at it instead of Molly's usual clothes. :p

You don't need to make a big deal about being punk on the outside if you're punk all the way down on the inside.

Having a head demon and growing your own personal hell in your soul should count.

Don't most teenagers have head demons, though?

Molly's is just a bit more talkative.

Would you mind explaining why we were rolling 9d10 here?

Molly has Int 4 and Craft 3 with Mechanics having a -1 penalty here bringing that down to an effective Craft 2. That combines to 6 dice. I presume Molly is using her Excellency here since she paid 1 Essence at the end of the last chapter for Tool-Transcending Constructs:
From the wavering shadows you pull tools unseen upon the earth as inspiration bubbles in your soul like tar from some antediluvian well.

Lost 1 Essence
so the 1 Essence at the start of this chapter is presumably for her Excellency.

Key to the Kingdom adds Attribute + Ability dice to the roll. That would add either 7 (Int 4 + Craft 3) or 6, if the specialization penalty applies to this as well, which brings the dicepool up to either 13 or 12.

I have a feeling I'm missing something obvious here but I can't figure out what.

If I am looking at Prodigies right...similar to how 1 dot Sword can have reduced DC to hit and more damage... choose 2.

Can Prodigy 1 Armor soak 1 more dice, and reduce mobility/dex penalty by one?

If we have an armour with native soak 3, -2 dex, we can choose 2 out of three and raise soak by 1, reduce penalty by 1 for 4 soak, 1 penalty then cast Blessing of the Air Dragon for 4 soak, 0 penalty on an armour.

Then activate Viridian Legend on top. Is this right?

Edit: And of course do something similar with a sword.

-1DC to hit and +1 dmg is quite good for it.

And makes Crafting worthwhile.

Edit: Of course, this would be some very modern and relatively bulky armour, coat, vestment....thing.

[X] Wear your armor openly, that is bound to make a statement

Looking good I see.
You can never have too much intimidate, especially when it comes to mobsters or demons.
If they think they can't beat you, you have already won.

All that perhaps, but to your eyes they seem most like the scales of a great dragon of shadow and steel.
"You look..." he kind of t rails off.

"Menacingly villainous?" you try to make it a joke.

"Dark certainly, but the night is as natural as the day, there is nothing wrong with seeing the beauty in it. That's as masterful as any chain shirt I have ever seen. It suits you," he answers after a moment.
Hmm... lets make sure Charity doesn't see Molly wearing this. Dragon scales are not exactly a happy memory for her.

Hmm. You know, Cracked Cell Curcumvention should trigger if get Michael to lock Molly in her workshop from the outside and tell her that she'll only be allowed out when she's crafted the item she's working n.

The same should apply to things like being locked in the house until you've finished studying.
