Some bankruptcies are to allow you to reorganize.
The others are simply a forced sale of assets to pay your creditors. You dont get shit.
I meant selling vs ownership transfer deal
This is not my professional field, but I am aware that there is a humongous web of people involved or interested in every significant movie or TV production.
Thats what happens when you live in a modern society.
The same arguments could (and were) apply to any and all businesses, diamond crafting included. In fact, I believe I made them at that time. Stuff like safety, electricity, etc, all not holding up to scrutiny. Those were, essentially, handwaved. I think that as long as we devote an AP or two to dealing with legal issues, the issues can be abstracted away. The unions are a thing, yes, and IRS is an issue too, but the transfer on paper is likely to be to Thomas anyway.
The same reason why the Raiths have never read in any of their directors, despite their literally running an empire of porn studios and sometimes using Whamps as actors and actresses.
Including the White King's daughter and heir.
And that is? And why does it apply to us?

Basically, the value in a small movie company is almost all in the founder-owner's personal skills and network of contacts.

When/if they sell it, the founder would need to agree to a years long lock-in to work for the new owner and a position at the acquirer of it's own me of the majors.

I'd be exceptionally surprised if without 'Darby' his old company had any net value whatsoever. It's probably negative value, with obligations much larger than its assets.

This is the same in many fields where the founder is essentially a load bearing boss. Basically all the value is in the human capital of that person. Without the person there's no value.

It's like an artist selling their 'business' of painting pictures to another painter. It just doesn't work.

Yeah, though the financials don't matter anyway in the game context. It's not enough for a dot so it could be making a healthy profit and we still wouldn't be able to actually spend a dime of it anyway.

We don't need Expression or financial skills. We (will) have people for that.

All we need to do is use our amazing social skills to make sure we have all the right people well motivated and in the right places.

We aren't a world class filmmaker, but we can be a beyond world class manager.

Our kingdom. If it is its own technologically advanced world, it is likely to have its own movies, TV shows, etc. Using this studio as a front to transmit the media into USA is not a bad idea in my mind.
Movies from our kingdom will have a very different cultural context, and are very unlikely to even make sense, let alone do well.

I wonder if Harry would like to be a consultant on a film or television series about a wizard detective? Maybe one that does something similar to the White Court's gutting of the Black Court by spreading real information on some aspects of the supernatural world, such as the powers and weaknesses of the Reds, the power of thresholds, the rules of the Fey, etc.

Most people wouldn't believe it, of course, but it wouldn't be too hard to put out messages online that there is more truth than fiction to the program than many would expect.

such as the powers and weaknesses of the Reds, the power of thresholds, the rules of the Fey, etc.
Most of those infos are already out, just somewhat buried in the mass of other myths.

It's not like Butcher invented Fey-Rules, he just picked some from folklore, that also exists in DF.

As for the Reds, they basically have typical vampiric weaknesses in the need for blood and the weakness to sunlight and true faith. Their skin-suits are hard to make use of even if people know.
Basically, they just have fewer/lesser strenghts and weaknesses than the Black Court, but not totally different ones.

Yeah, most of the information is out there, but it's lost in the noise, so to speak. For every one bit of truth, there are ten or more falsehoods or misconceptions.

Considering the studio in question going to world class and very unfamiliar cinematography would be pretty attention grabbing.

If we do go that route it'd probably be better to try transferring the equivalent of C to B grade horror under the guise of some gimmick about alien movies or whatever.

Lampshade the whole thing and slowly build if it gets popular.

Still not sold on it being worth our time, but if we're going to do it that seems like the most viable.

Making other shows with supernatural stuff in it sounds neat eventually, but honestly producing a buffy style show inspired by your own life and broadcasting it sounds like the sort of thing that requires being so far up your own ass that you need an internal hell realm to make it physically possible.

But what about a show about a plucky female police detective doing her best to make sense of the supernatural world she's suddenly found herself tangled up in?

Murphy might try to murder us, though...

"Where can I find the largest currently unclaimed collection of records in the non-human language heard by this person during the fight?"
Um, Yog? Don't mean to but in, but there might be a problem with how this question is worded, Old Realm is a human language, isn't it? Humans routinely spoke it for a huge chunk of their history, and while I find it unlikely that many speak it now, I don't think it would count as a non-human language, which might make the question fail.

Perhaps unrecognizable language would work better? Or something along those lines.

Way to minor to bother with.

While just the name would be useful in my opinion, I see your point. Alphabet is not very useful though (for one, does Old Realm even use an alphabet? I thought it used logograms). How about "where can I find the largest currently unclaimed collection of text in the language?" This gives us an option to explore later and a plot hook.

I am open to suggestions on the language question.
Logograms sure but even if we ignore the 1to1 english stuff. We should be able to learn it really easily with the component characters, just by pulling on the Shards knowledge.

The sounds were described as something not meant for a human throat. I am unsure if it's actually Old Realm as adapted to humans. @DragonParadox do I need to reword the question, or does this fall under "the Crown is not a monkey paw"? I think the intent of the question is clear enough

Have we already voted for the features of our Kingdom? If not, it's certainly not a valid argument.

Also, if you don't mind, could you consider the thought about including the question about the Princes of Earth in the plan. I think it can be very valuable information for Molly IC.

Molly was able to make the sounds with her human vocal cords for what that is worth, that is all she knows IC at the moment.

Ok then, let's be more careful

Cutting metaphors to exactly what we are looking for.

Princes of the Earth needs to be asked, yes. I assumed we can ask it later, using an audio recording Clippy should have made.

As to the Kingdom - we didn't select it yet, but "advanced technology" and "advanced society" seemed to be a point of consensus. Still, ok, that's a valid counter-argument.

-[X] After we leave the party, with the same preparations, plus BSM and WHWH, using Clippy's audio recording of the fight: "What is a Prince of the Earth referred to in this audio recording"

Am I the only one not terribly enthused on our kingdom? The hook for this quest is a Dresden Files canon character exalting. The more we spend on the kingdom, the less we interact with the Dresden Files world. Which would be a shame.
