Just to clarify, by overflow of Bashing into lethal into Agg, say we have 7 hlvls

Once we ticked off the 7th lvl in bashing then more bashing damage means that we tick the 1st lvl as Lethal and same for Agg right?

Or do you mean once we tick 7th lvl as Bashing and any more bashing damage results in the 7th lvl as lethal.

The former it has to wrap around your whole health again once for lethal and once for agg.

I remembered another thing to buy to make ourselves even tankier, other than the Charms already mentioned, though City Still Stands is 100% a buy at some point.

Invulnerable Skin of Bronze is good soak, and its not quite combat Sorcery, we can cast it before battle if we are in a safe spot.

Another is Burning Eyes of the Offender. Plus 2 difficulty to any action against us, iirc. And its long duration too. Prep spells.
 
Yeah. With the clarifications, By Agony Empowered is far too overpriced for what it does and the City Still Stands is a much better charm to purchase. The Extra H lvls would come in handy with purchases of Ox body techniques but right now? not worth it.

It is a charm for later.

Yes, but to immobilize it with Agg damage, we need it Agg damage, which we get from Transcendent Anathema from By Rage Recast.

Which is what the post was mainly about. Since we need it immobile to hit it with our Brawl attack with the silver.

Idk I'd probably count white phosphorus as agg damage and radiation(if we're still affected by it)

Well, thats on them! What mundane military fights a Rightful Ruler of the Thousand Hells with weak stuff like that?

Joking aside, it is also serious. I am going to stop bringing it up, but if an opponent theoretically has access to weapons that can harm you, but didnt bring it with them thats on them. Charm working as intended.
 
i think you guys are underestimating by agony empowered.

it passively increases our effective health by 50% to 100% depending on the circumstances (bashing vs lethal base damage).

and we can get 5 health levels per purchase of ox-body. that adds up really fast. +7 health base. +12 health with 1 ox body. +17 health with 2. etc.

and 1 mote for effectively 10 dice for a turn (remove 5 pen, add 5 dice) (maybe less depending on charm purchases) is a pretty damn good rate. especially since I think we can use the bonus dice on any roll we want to (including things like essence or willpower rolls) (please correct me if i am wrong here).

now: is the perfect soak or the 1/story cancel death + full heal better? maybe. but this is by no means a bad charm.

My problem isn't it being a bad Charm, because it isn't. Its just not a 5 dot Charm.

if we are fighting something that would force us to use all its aspects, The City Still Stands is better because it replaces your HL track which is like a full heal AND health gate! If we eat 20 levels of damage from some godforsaken combo, or some kind of prepared kill spell by a Wizard team or the Summer goats or whatever, we dont die, just resurrect and go Shintai, with the enemy expended.

If we did the same with Agony, it'll just roll over too much and eat much more HP.

Conversely, something like Thousandfold Typhoon Hand lets us make shitton of attacks at full dicepool and since Excellency isnt a one use per roll here, its much better and likely to just let us kill dangers before they hit us if we are in any way able to.

That is a 5 dot.

The vast, vast majority of mundane weapons out there and even many mid level magical effects do lethal damage. If I let that charm stand one of two things would happen:
  1. You guys would Terminator walk though most of the threats of the setting, which is fun the first time not so fun the fiftieth time
  2. I start handing out Agg to enemies like it is free candy at which point any companions or allies with you are screwed
Neither of those seem like fun to me in the long run so no passive blanket immunity to lethal damage.

As I pointed out earlier. It is not a bad charm when paired with ox body. Problem is that it is not worth a 5 dot rating if it requires you to purchase other charms to get the most out of it.

Especially when compared to the 5 dot charm right next to it that does much MUCH more and does not require other charms for its effict.

It simply is not worth the 5 dot rating.
 
If this is a balance problem, you could lower the dots on the charm and/or give it some other effect instead. No need to stick to exact rules when they end up imbalanced one way or another. (like making it require much more damage instead of immunity, or something)
 
@DragonParadox if we had enough craft levels would it be possible for us to create homunculi aka artificial humans? This is a hypothetical because the white council and the white god would definitely tell us to desist or cease(die)
