Fortunatly we have alternatives, called Night Swallows Secrets.

Since a pop quiz is definitly a distressing act she can forbid the teacher or anyone else to mention it for a year and a day.
So if we fail a test, we can make it impossible for our teacher to count it for our marks, unless he pushes through a very difficult willpower roll.
 
Small note, that should be five years older not three as I wrote above, Charity was 22 when she married and became pregnant, 23 when she actually gave birth. I am not the best at math as some of you may know. :V

Out of curiosity, what do you guys want to talk to Harry about?

Lash? Usum? Magic stuff? The cops? Not sure I like going out of our way to keep secrets from our family this early, but I suspect ulterior motives for visiting Dresden.

If it is not specified I would go with magic stuff, particularly the bits about the Thousand Hells you just found out and figuring out what the local supernatural scene looks like.

If we're lucky, when asking about magic stuff we get to meet Bob and throw some info and questions at him, try to narrow what down stuff based on what Usum and Occult gives us IC.

Harry will probably bring anything you tell him to everyone's favorite skull, but keep in mind that Bob is a secret from the White Council, especially since after Dead Beat when he found out that Bob used to belong to Kemler. It is unlikely he will show him off to you guys.

Take our demon in for an update on what the local hell situation is like. Maybe find out how long Usum was on ice for.

None of that strikes me as stuff that would be impossible to ask with Charity around, but perhaps I am reading into the situation too much.

You don't think asking about the various Hells our power came from wouldn't be worse or more complicated with Charity around?

Edit: I guess if you only ask Usum, she wouldn't know, but then its not up to date information since we have zero idea when he was put on ice.

I wonder why it takes inspiration. You'd think the Exaltation would just scale down the existing themes of Primordial charmtech already rooted in it, unless it was forced to do otherwise or something scraped off the bits.

Is it doing the scaling down and is just...not creative enough to just figure out how to scale down so it finds the closest equivalents to steal ideas from? I guess that makes sense, but damn.

Not particularly no.

She already knows we entered a faustian power bargain. And even worse plan on continuing to use magic. Horror of horrors.

Getting down to the brass tacks of who's, what's, wheres, and when's is more likely to confuse her than anything else.

Hell maybe having definitive evidence that were not mage and didnt make a bargain with something from (christian) hell would be good news for her.

Probably not, but you know.
 
I've got to say, I'm not a fan of our new Exellency compared to the Yozi-emulating version of ages past.

Just being better at skills you are good at is so boring, Solar-flavored.
Being better while acting in accordance to a certain theme and style is much more fun and it delivers ideas to stunts, so your actions fit in these themes.

I assumed the thousand hells were the degraded and deceased world bodies of the Yozi.
 
The closest thing to that kind of interpretation-game we have is Cracked Cell Circumvention.

Like talking our way out of detention as an example for indirect uses.

Funnily enough it would also work on getting out of school in general early. I mean it has a gate and there are people whose job it is to keep you in so as far as the charm is concerned if you no longer want to be there it's imprisonment.

This is a demon who knows what he is talking about. We lucked out when it comes to roommates, his being a complete moral void set aside.

Also, yeah, we very much need to get to the point where we lie as easily as breathe. We're going to be getting a mountain of practice at the art if we are going to stay alive through all of this. Its part and parcel with putting on your robe and wizard hat.

I actually want to risk things with the hospital but... Harry needs to be debriefed a wee bit better than he has been if he is going to be risking his neck protecting ours. Both are probably a risk and I'd feel bad about skipping either.
 
If we're trying to avoid other wizards we really shouldn't be anywhere near where Dresden spends his time.
