Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

Dude, he's talking to someone who comes from a clan of psychiatrists. Lying to two Kunoichi is idiotic, and Tokei doesn't seem like a great liar to me, especially with the way he is openly disliking us. I assume he paused because he had to force the words out.

Read it again. Tokei walks away and the two women gossip.

The pause is realising the boy is in front of them, so they censor their wording.

Your guardian makes small talk with the two matriarchs for a few moments before walking back over to where Umo is watching the scene with keen eyes. You're left to your own devices with the two women and babies- and you're quickly put back into service helping them when baby Ino launches a small fuzzy toy directly at your face. You pick it up and give it back, drawing another coo from the mothers and a little gaa from the newborn.

As she launches it again, smiling at the new game, you keep an ear on the mother's conversation. "So that's…?" Mrs. Yamanaka asks.

"Yes, the Iron Damiyo's… nephew. He caused quite a stir when he was born from what I hear. You can see a little bit of the man in his chin and eyes, but he looks more like his mother from what I can tell."

I'm assuming our mother is the daimyo's bastard sister which is why nobody recognizes her and is why she's hiding out in a ninja village.

I'm assuming that mom doesn't look like what people would assume, especially since not many people would know what the Iron Daimyo's sister looks like all the way in in the land of fire, in Konoha. I doubt they post pictures of her on the walls of every town >_>

In this context nephew could be euphemism for bastard.

We are a bastard, our mom isn't married.

I mean I suppose we can be the Iron Daimyo's bastard, but then who is the person that was with our mom? He's pretty much confirmed to be our dad, and I think the Iron Daimyo visiting would cause more of a stir.

We're clearly his bastard. The clan mums even compare us to him in looks and claim our birth was a scandal. Why would the Daimyo's sister giving birth cause a scandal?

Konoha is also in recovery mode, and we go straight from our house to the park. We see nothing else of Konoha, so we don't know that his visit didn't cause a stir.

Because it's Royalty giving birth out of wedlock, that's a pretty big deal. I know most modern humans don't really care about it, but this is a different world.

We might look like him because, yaknow, his sister is related to him?

You said it yourself. Konoha just suffered massive damage, and suddenly the Iron Daimyo visits his mistress? How exactly does that not result in more conversation from passerby's than a couple of clan moms?

We walked to get to the park, passing by multiple people, yet no one mentioned a single thing.

[X] Socialization (Mother and Tokei). You love your mother, and you're curious about Tokei. You're going to be living with them for a while; better to be close with them.

We're definitely the bastard child of the Iron Daimyo and one of his concubines. Like, that's not really questionable, it's all but spelled out in the text.

[X] Socialization (Unknown). Konoha is a large village with thousands of people in it! Surely you can make a new friend!

You people do understand that our father can be related to the daimyo, maybe his nephew or a younger brother? The connection doesn't have to be with out mother alone. Heck, she could very well have been a minor noblewoman, not a princess, and it still doesn't lessen the scandal. Also,

Because family is important and it's only the toddlerhood, not the entire childhood. So let's say the first 4-6 years(?), when focusing on skills isn't as important as when we're a bit older. Friendship can also wait until then.:V

[X] Socialization (Ino-Shika-Cho). You're known to two of the three families that make up that make up the noble trio, and the third is sure to come soon. You could do far worse than make friends with them.

I'm hoping that we'll get some minor skill gains from doing relationship building quests.

[X] Questing (Skills). Your skills are all terrible. The faster you improve them, the better.
