Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[] Kiba's right. You need to narrow your search. Instead of just researching the era, you'll focus on one specific thing.
-[] Late Warring States Era: The period right before village formation.

Decently representative, likely to be most well documented, and ties in well to the origin of Konoha in general.

Edit:

No, wait, we're friends with Sakura, let's just use her brain.

how willing is sakura going to be to help? our relationship is in an odd spot right now. i think we should just focus on something specific

Whenever the vote will be, I'm going to vote Water-Release and I'll fight anybody who doesn't.

Lightning release is the clear and superior option. If the user is skilled enough, they can keep up with a damn sage/jinchuuriki. The speed and reaction boost just from self enhancement is insane, let alone stuff like lightning armour, and its incredable offensive power.

It's OP as fuck.

Hello there fire! I heard you liked oil, so I got you some JP8 instead!

Success Condition One: Demonstrate your skill to your teachers in 8 of the 12 following fields: Bunshin no Jutsu, Chakra Control, Genjutsu, Kawarimi no Jutsu. Henge no Jutsu, History, Mathematics, Ninjutsu, Outdoor Survival, Shurikenjutsu, Stealth and Tracking, Taijutsu.

So, we just need to ace 3 more areas (Henge, History, and Ninjutsu) and Condition One of the RotY quest is complete.

"Okay, okay!" Kiba growls. "I get it!" He growls to himself for a moment and then finally gets back on topic. "Anyway. Dude. There's just too much. The Warring States era went on for like centuries! There's no way you can do a presentation on all of it!"

Huh. Kiba's probably not wrong. Doing a complete presentation on the entire era would be you essentially trying to cram over six hundred years of history into a brief period of time. The information would be so dense and garbled that no one would get anything out of it at all.

Then again, Kiba's not exactly the best helper. Convenient, sure. Booksmart, no. He says he's finding conflicting sources of information when he's looking. Maybe if you had another helper you could winnow the grain from the chaff and get better, more complete information that you could use to give an overview.

Regarding this, I'm not sure. If we need help we should definitely bring in Sakura as our little helper. If we narrow it down, then I would say to maybe the Waning years of the Warring States. Idk, probably have to think on this one more.

Using Sakura now is pretty damn tactless regarding Ino.
It was mentioned how Ino "claimed us" and now we go to Sakura? That doesn't sound right and it would feel like a betrayal for Ino, which I don't want to deal with right before graduation.

If you want to look for help ask Yui or better yet. Kairi
Shirai Kairi is a kunoichi of many talents. She draws, she writes, she acts, but what she's the most proud of is that she's the shadow editor of the student paper.

-[X] Shikamaru

Uchiha Clan has to have some pretty interesting history on the Warring States Era.

Edit: Changed my vote to Shikamaru.

Also, I do not get the Kairi joke. I don't, to me it just looks like she's drawing smut of her classmate without permission.

The problem is we have less than 3 months and Waring Clans era is well era I doubt 1more person will be enough to parse through it all so quickly however smart. We need a point to focus on something to center our information finding around. I think this should be about quality of the information not quantity.

I mean, its a statement, and if Ino's going to make it an ultimatum about us either being her friend or Ino's then, well, she's acting a helluva lot like her cousin.

And we all know how Ino responded to that.

It isn't in poor taste. It is using the best possible resource for the job. If either has an issue with it, they can shove it down or shove off.

This might actually work.

I kinda wish we could recruit and narrow the focus though

Question, does the history paper/presentation have to be accurate, or simply well done?

Because it would be amusing if Dai took all the information he found, threw in a dash of metaknowledge, and spun a bullshit conspiracy theory (presented as calmly and treated as completely factual).

No matter what problems Sakura and Ino are having right now, both our still our friends. Hopefully, Sakura will see this as an olive branch and an acknowledgment that she is the best person to help us with this task. Also, it looks like whoever we partner with we also inspire to rise up with us in the rankings, as shown with Ino also advancing in class rank. Sakura work on herself a bit more, she is currently ranked 10th. So I think it best if we partner with Sakura, she helps us with the project and we help her with some area she is struggling with. This will also allow us to spend time with her when Ino isn't around and show that we aren't abandoning her.

Regarding the history project:
I think we need to focus on something. Maybe the time period 20 years pre Konoha until founding?
So... basically the time period surrounding Hashirama and Madara's early life prior to founding Konoha?

Of course, we could also rely on fragments of canon knowledge, via that Perk we have to help fill in the gaps.

Another clan kid feels like it'd work best. I'm half tempted to rope in Sasuke, or if we want pure book smarts Shino might be a better idea. Though, both hinge on them actually accepting.
I believe Sasuke is already on board with helping us with the project, according to canonical omake submissions. Shino... we'd have to figure out how to get his aide.

And it just sounds supremely badass for Daisuke to mix in precise and deadly nin- and gen-jutsu with one-handed seals while holding a badass sword.
True enough, though, it's a matter of mastering the jutsu in question (and ninjutsu theory in general), than it is about using jutsu that only require one-handed seals. Practice and familiarity allow experienced ninja to cut down on the number of seals required, and even do the seals one-handed if they have to.

So... I imagine leveling up Chakra Control and Shape Manipulation would be the way to go, as well as mastering all these jutsu till they can used at that level.

Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death
Water Release: Water Severing Wave
Water Release: Rising Water Slicer
Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death is a B-Rank jutsu, and also classified as a Secret Art - we'd need to steal it from Kiri somehow. Water Severing Wave was Tobirama's jutsu - it's unranked and likely a personal technique of his, but powerful enough for him to use it to cut through the God Tree... Rising Water Slicer might be doable, but would not be as powerful as a similar Wind Release we can use to synergize with Kenjutsu, not to mention reliant on having a bunch of water around to use the jutsu with - we're not Tobirama, and able to just create that shit out of thin air.

Wind Release has a ton of synergy with sword-fighting though, as displayed by Danzo. I agree, Water Release is baller, but Wind Release has more synergy for our fighting style. We can use it with sword and taijutsu, and rely on it to cover our deficiencies in long-range combat, Not to mention, wind jutsu can be nigh-invisible because they're the same color as Air. It's how Baki made a name for himself, and Danzo proved it's deadly as hell.

I assume it needs not be bullshit because if it's wrong or make believe then its not history and getting good grades for that is unlikely at best.
