Problem is that Kairi hasn't shown herself to be exceptional at History. We don't need just another pair of hands. We need someone who is good at this sort of thing, like Sakura. Just asking for help from someone who may just be average in the subject isn't going to cut it. We need someone who is exceptional at it.
 
Guys we get the help of people who have records of the Warring Clans Period instead of just Sakura.

Mifune definitely uses a katana. Maybe the mooks use short blades and the nobles and highly ranked samurai uses katana. Wasn't Tokei a highly ranked and trusted samurai? I really don't know, Vesvius hasn't mentioned what type of sword we have.

Gotta think of this as a ninja academy though. It might be about showing research skill and presenting a convincing argument, like that research paper on anime tiddies.

Also, with the WSE being such a confusion period, as long we we ground said bullshit theory on a measure evidence and sound convincing they can't really prove Dai wrong.

I'm thinking Kairi for 2 reasons:

1 we get to know her a bit better; 2 she's right next to Sakura in the rankings despite editing for the paper, writing screenplays for the theater club aaaaaand getting her Kunoichi training done all at the same time.

This girl can clearly put the work in

We would have Kiba and Kairi gather Information while Kairi also does the editing. There's also Daisuke.

all the extra hands in the world aren't going to condense 600 years of contradictory history into one coherent presentation.

Problem is, for what reason will Shikamaru help us? He may be smart but he is also lazy. I doubt he will do an exhausting project like this just because we asked.

Nitpick, but the biggest nerd in the class is Date Izumi. He is worse than Sakura at physical stuff but he is currently ranked at number 5 because of academics.

Alright, Sakura is ranked 11 while Kairi is ranked 12. Now unless you think Kairi is below Sakura in the physical aspects of ninja life, then this really doesn't make sense. Sakura is impressive because while she isn't the best in physical subjects, her grades in other subjects allow her to hold onto her position at rank 10. Unless you think Kairi is similarly bad at the physical aspects of ninja life like Sakura is, then the argument that they are similar doesn't really hold water. Kairi could be average at the physical subjects and the mental aspects of ninja life and that could be the reason she takes 12 place, versus Sakura being below average at the physical subjects and above average at the mental aspects.


Edit: Sakura is actually ranked 11 now, must have changed. But I think that would just make her more determined to help us with our project.
