London

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The first costumed vigilante in both the British Isles and London, the Night appeared in early 1916. Primarily focused on fighting the Consortium and stopping the criminal empire taking advantage of the then ongoing war, the Night also focused on regular crimes and the criminals of London soon learnt to fear his presence. He vanished in mid 1919 without a trace while investigating the politician Barnaby May-Porter and his ties to the Consortium leadership.

His secret identity is Benedict Wallis, grandson of the wealthy retired politician Gareth Wallis.
The youthful squire of the Fairy Knight and aspiring heroine, Sapphire Squire relies on a mixture of physical skill, mental ability and technological gadgets. A genius and prodigy, Sapphire Squire holds her own on the streets of London and has proven herself worthy of fighting alongside her mentor. Since 25th December 1920, Sapphire Squire has gained two magical abilities from her mentor, one which allows her to change her outfit at will and provide her clothing with protective properties while the other removes her needs for sleep, food and drink.
The second squire of Fairy Knight, Onyx Squire comes from a criminal background and seeks to help the world rather than hurt it like the rest of his family. Relying mainly on his fists and hardiness, Onyx Squire has picked some equipment and magic from Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, the most exotic of these being his partial invisibility and complete silence.

His secret identity is David White, son of the street thug Jacob White.
Jordan Brown is a chief inspector within the Metropolitan Police. A determined man who believes in stopping criminals and protecting the innocent, Chief Inspector Brown is willingly to bend the law a little if it means seeing proper justice done.

Following his systematic dismantlement of the Dragonsteeth, Jordan Brown was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Detective Inspector. Following the arrest of the Templar, Jordan Brown has formed a formal covert partnership with the Fairy Knight.

As of 1st March 1921, Jordan Brown has been promoted to Chief Inspector from Detective Inspector under a cloud of politics, high tenses and borderline infighting amongst the Metropolitan Police.
Gareth Wallis is a wealthy man and a retired politician who has known great tragedy. The ageing man has outlived all of his family and currently lives alone in London with his butler. He was aware of his grandson's activities as the Night and covertly funded his crusade. As of January 1920, he supports and funds Fairy Knight's continuation of the Night's crusade.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
While some call him a hero, the Golden Knight is definitely a criminal. Appearing in 1919, the Golden Knight and his Golden Order are returning veterans of the Great War. While they fight the Consortium and claim to see justice for the people, many of the Golden Order's activities are regular organised crime and in some ways, the Golden Knight is just another crime lord who dressed up as a costumed vigilante.

On 9th February 1920, the Golden Order captured Sam Carson of the White Devils and hold him captive.
On 24th April 1920, the Golden Knight aided Fairy Knight at Anna Lucas' party.
The White Devils are a London street gang that was led by Sam Carson and backed by the Consortium. A male dominated gang that believes in the supremacy of the white Englishman, the White Devils seek to purge London of its 'foreign filth'. Covertly supported by the Consortium, the White Devils rose to prominence falling the Night's disappearance and seek to 'clean out' Whitechapel so they can turn it into their territory and use the neighbourhood as a base of operations.

On 9th February 1920, Sam Carson was defeated by Fairy Knight before being captured by the Golden Order. Following the loss of their leader, the White Devils have fallen into infighting and got systemically picked off by their foes. As of mid 1920, the gang no longer exists.

As of 25th February, Sam Carson was freed from the captivity of the Golden Order by Redcoat, presumably on the orders of the Consortium.
The Dragonsteeth were a major street gang that was founded and led by Anna Lucas. Covertly backed by the Consortium, the Dragonsteeth held a position of prominence within the London criminal underworld and the gang held great influence over several small gangs.

On 24th April 1920, Anna Lucas was defeated by Fairy Knight and later arrested by the police alongside several of her subordinates.

Between late April 1920 and early August 1920, Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown systematically dismantled the gang. He did so by arresting and putting in prison most of their leadership and membership, shutting down all of their major operations and most of their minor ones and he ruined their reputation.

As of September 1920, Cliff Gregory currently leads what is left of the Dragonsteeth with the gang having gone to ground as a remnant of their former glory.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens.
Levy Porter was the chief enforcer of the Dragonsteeth, a feared man for his deadly prowess. He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown on the 24th April 1920 after being defeated by Fairy Knight and was later sent to prison.
Levy Porter was a sub-boss of the Dragonsteeth and their main accountant. An experienced elderly man, he managed most of the gang's finances and briefly took over half of it following Anna Lucas' arrest.

He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown during early June 1920 and was later sent to prison.
Cliff Gregory is the current leader of what remains of the Dragonsteeth. An ambitious and dangerous man, he leads what is left of the gang after avoiding being arrested by Detective Brown.

As for 25th February 1921, Cliff Gregory is attempting to return the gang to prominence and has broken its prior ties with the Consortium.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens. The current fate of Cliff Gregory is unknown.
The Consortium is the top dog within the criminal underworld of London with its leadership remaining unknown to outsiders and most within the Consortium. Whilst it has sway across most of the British Isles, the Consortium is located in London where it holds the most of its power and influence.

Despite enjoying a good couple of decades of effectively uncontested dominance, the Consortium has founded itself increasing under attack in recent years with its most prominent foes being the Night, the Golden Order and Fairy Knight.
An middle-manager within the Consortium who is responsible with coordinating with outside assets. He was Windstrike's liaison when the Consortium hired her to kill Fairy Knight in March 1920.
Known as Ronald Barr in his civilian identity, the Templar is a fearsome warrior who dresses up in plate armour, styling himself after a medieval knight. Wielding his imposing war hammer, the Fist of God, the Templar is one of the most dangerous individuals on London's streets with very few capable of matching him. Having retired from the army after a decade of service at the end of the Great War, Ronald seemingly works for an Anglican organisation that seeks to purge London's streets of heretics and infidels.

He was arrested on the 18th September 1920 after being defeated by the Fairy Knight, but avoided going to prison due to destruction of evidence during his trial.
Peter Michaelson was the leader of the Royal Ravens and a member of the Consortium. The Royal Ravens were the top gang in London and the Consortium used them as a proxy to control the streets of London. Following a rash attack on the Brown family in February 1921, the full force of the Scotland Yard came down on the Royal Ravens and as of April 1921, the gang has been systemically destroyed one way or another and is effectively no more.
Allen Baxter as the chief enforcer of the Royal Ravens.

On 16th February 1921, Allen Baxter was accidentally slain by Fairy Knight in battle.
25th February 1921, the Regal Ravens split off from the Royal Ravens.

As of May 1921, Eira has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.
The son of Jordan and Eira Brown and the younger brother of Brenda Brown. James Brown was a shy kid who witness his mother almost being killed in their own home on the 18th February 1921 alongside receiving injuries of his own. Known Civilians and Neutral Organisations
The mother of Tamara Lyn and many other important fairies, the Queen of the Faeries was a powerful and uncontested leader. Having rightfully earnt both fear and respect, the Queen of the Faeries was a whimsical and capricious ruler who did what she felt like at any given moment thanks to being powerful enough to get away with it.

At some point prior to start of 1920, she was overthrown by her sister Taenya and has not been seen from since.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Moira rules over the Little Court of England. While she is a decent ruler, Moira is more focused on magic and improving her magical abilities. She and her half-sister Tamara consider each other to be their favourite sibling.

Your tenses be whack.

Side effects of writing in the second tense so much. Anyway fixed now. Thanks for catching that.

Well this update in general explains a lot of Brenda beginning to lean heavily on Tamara for emotional support.

One parent is struggling with recovery (not helped that I think social isolation is taking effect and that her husband is avoiding her when she needs support)

The other is essentially ignoring the problems at home and hoping they'll go away.

Our favorite cop is lucky honestly that Tamara feels very responsible for her squire - Brenda attempting to force speed her learning of magic enough said.

Because I think a small and (possibly in the future increasingly not so small) reason for Brenda's stability is that she found an adult willing to adult by helping her figure out how to adult. (See getting actual breast support and possibly running household)

Eira Brown is going through depression and whilst she goes through the basics of sleeping in bed, getting dressed, eating, drinking and going to toilet, she doesn't actually do much and Brenda has taken over the position of looking after the household. It doesn't help that mental healthcare sucks in this time period. (I'm not sure if asylums are still a thing)

Meanwhile Jordan Brown knows that things are wrong, but he doesn't know how to deal with them so he uses work as a semi-excuse to avoid dealing with a problem he doesn't know how to deal with. I say semi-excuse because he really is that busy at work, but it doubles as a reason to avoid home for him.

James is still stressed and traumatised by the attack, basically PTSD. Things are made worse for him as he realises that his parents are acting differently and less caring towards him. Due to his young age and own problems, James doesn't quite understand that it is a result of them struggling with their own trauma and instead believes that his parents have stopped loving him as much, forcing him to turn to Brenda.

Meanwhile Brenda is fine on her own, but her mother not caring for her anymore, her father being too busy at work and her brother is becoming increasingly dependent on her. So while she isn't suffering any trauma on her own, Brenda is suffering from her family falling apart around her, mainly her mother's depression.

Furthermore, no one realises that Brenda is going through some trouble of her own. She plays being tough to any outside observers and it isn't helped by the fact that she is tough, just not as much as she pretends to be. Eira doesn't care enough to notice anything wrong, Brown is too busy to look closer than the impression she is giving, James sees her as his lifeline while no one else is close enough to her to see through the semi-facade. Even Tamara doesn't realise that Brenda isn't fine even if she knows that Sapphire Squire is going through a hard time.

Funnily enough, a major reason for Brenda's continued stability is her being the Sapphire Squire. She has a different mindset as the Sapphire Squire which lets her cope better with bad things happening because she expects to deal with bad things as the Sapphire Squire. She also, as noted by you, has got an adult to turn to in the form of Tamara and that is going to help her with having to grow up quicker. While I reckon that Brenda would be able to figure out how to deal with being forced to grow up quickly on her own, having Tamara there to turn to is definitely going to help her out a lot.

So in summary, Brenda's home life sucks right now due to everyone else having problems of their own and while it isn't needed for her, Brenda is definitely going to benefit a lot from having an adult figure in Tamara and a form of escape as the Sapphire Squire.

Outsiders I
[X] More knowledge is always useful and it looks like you'll be helping out more at home these days. Get Tamara to teach you the basics of looking after a household.

"So fold them like this," mutters Sapphire Squire, following your instructions as she folds the green dress.

"That is how you do it," you confirm as you stand behind her, watching your squire work, "Good job. You're picking this up really well."

"I've always been a quick learner," replies Sapphire Squire, "And you are a good teacher."

You smile at her. It has been little over a week since you started teaching her how to look after household at her request and it has been going wonderfully. You appreciate the chance to spend time with your squire as Tamara Lyn rather than Fairy Knight. Not that you have a problem with the latter, but there is something satisfying with involving Sapphire Squire in more of your life.

So here the two of you are, you in your Tamara Lyn form while Sapphire Squire dresses up in a maid uniform as you teach her how to be a good maid, the closest thing you know to looking after a household. As you come to expect of your squire, the girl is a quick study, remembering everything and picking up most things on the first time around.

"Hey Tamara," says Sapphire Squire, "Do you think that being good at all this makes me good at being a housewife?"

"You would make for an excellent housewife," you reassure her, trying to remember just what that word means.

Not the wife of a house because that would be ridiculous. The wife of a man who looks after the household. Yes, that makes sense and sounds about right.

"So you think I'm destined to be a housewife?" asks Sapphire Squire as she spins around to look at you and you wonder where you went wrong.

"No, I don't believe being good at something makes you destined to do it," you tell her, "Otherwise that makes you destined to be a knight, a sorceress, an inventor and who knows what else."

"So what does make you destined to do something?" asks Sapphire Squire.

"Choice," you tell her, "You are born into certain advantages or disadvantages, that is just potential and it doesn't matter how talented you are if you don't make use of that potential. Choose what you want to do and work towards that."

"But I don't know what I want to do!" protests Sapphire Squire, "I just try everything and take whatever opportunities present themselves."

"You are young and yet to reach adulthood," you reply, "You have time to continue learning and figure out what path you wish to take in life."

"And what if society doesn't give me the chance to choose or tries to force me to choose before I am ready to do so?" asks Sapphire Squire.

"My squire, you are the most capable individual I have met since my exile with the potential exception of the Night," you tell her, "Even then, you have certain exceeded him thanks to having access to my magic. If society tries to force you to do anything, I believe you are fully capable of telling society to shove it up its arse."

"I suppose I could," mutters Sapphire Squire, "I mean, I couldn't take on the whole country, but I got the skills to do what I want if an individual or specific group tried to force me."

"There you go," you say as you throw your arms around her, "Spend the next couple of years to figure out what you want out of the future. Hug?"

"Hug," confirms your squire as she wraps her arms around you, "Then we move until ironing shirts."

The two of you embrace each other in a hug, leaving you with a warm, glowing feeling inside. As you glance down at your protege with a smile, you vow to do your utmost to not let her down again.

***

"You seem excited tonight," you comment to your squire as the two of you watch the Thames, you in the form of an owl whilst she leans against the chimney with a ring of urban invisibility to conceal her.

"More so than normal?" teases Sapphire Squire, grinning at you.

"You are definitely in good spirits tonight," you point out, "Something happen to leave you in such a cheerful mood? Or have you just never been down to the river before?"

"I've seen the river many times before I'll have you know," replies Sapphire Squire with great mock indignity, "What has happened is that I finally finished making a proper bra and tonight is the first time I'm going out on patrol with one on."

"Good work," you tell her as while you don't understand the problem yourself, it is something that has caused no shortage of hardship for your squire.

"I've tested it a few times earlier," continues Sapphire Squire proudly, "Swung about with one on and jumped about the rooftops. I had to make some adjustments before I got it fitting right and I haven't been able to test how it holds up in a fight, but it is much nicer. Not perfect mind you, but having proper support for them is a major improvement."

"I'm pleased for you my squire as that is some good work," you say, "Now, who are we after again? I must confess that I lost track after coalition collapsed the other night. Speaking of which..."

"Yeah, yeah, I'm the info girl," says Sapphire Squire with no real heat to her voice, "Royal Ravens finished off, effectively defunct as a gang. The Golden Order and the Consortium Coalition was stalemating each other up until the collapse, where thing have gotten messy..."

"Messy how?" you inquire.

"Not enough information to know yet Miss Talking Bird," admits Sapphire Squire, "It was the usual fare of greedy criminals backstabbing each other, but I haven't had the chance to get the details yet. I do know that the Regal Ravens and the Crow Crew are coming out on top, which is funny as they are both named after black birds. Black like their dirty criminal hearts.

Anyway, the Golden Order is the biggest game on the streets right now and is expanding further, but the Regal Ravens have taken second place while the Crow Crew has taken third and is catching up to number two thanks to having absorbed both the Dragonsteeth and the Azure Skulls. I can't figure out if they did that peacefully or forcibly, but I suspect whatever happened had something to do with the coalition falling apart. The Silent Brotherhood is holding its own and the Night Wolves are on the verge of collapse.

However, that is the situation after two days. Things are still in flux and who knows what will happen. Maybe the Royal Ravens will fall apart or the Crow Crew will be taken over from the inside. The only things I am sure of right now is that the Consortium won't be putting their coalition back together and the gang war has just had a low key start."

"That is worst than I thought," you say, thinking through the possibilities resulting from that.

"Eh, not as bad as it could be," replies Sapphire Squire with a shrug, "Royal Ravens are gone, Peter Michaelson has been arrested, the Consortium Coalition has collapsed and fighting is going to be quiet at the start. Everyone knew that the gang war was coming and as far as things go, this is a pretty good way to start it if we couldn't avoid it."

"I suppose," you agree reluctantly, "And tonight? We're looking for an Iron Fist weapon right?"

"Close, but not quite," answers Sapphire Squire, "The Consortium purchased a weapon to use against you from Germany and a guy called Iron Fist is delivering it. That is all I got I'm afraid apart from it would be arriving tonight somewhere around here. I tried to get some dirt on Iron Fist or whoever the suppliers are, but I don't speak German. Sorry."

"Don't worry, you got more information than I did," you reassure her, "Is there any reason you didn't enchant a piece of jewellery with a translation spell?"

"I didn't know there was a translation spell," admits Sapphire Squire, "Once we got the time, I want you to-what was that?"

"Lightning over there," you answer, staring at the scene on the other side of the river, "Originating from the ground."

"That is not normal at all," says Sapphire Squire as she attempts and fails to follow your gaze, "Want to check it out?"

The start of a new arc and one where you get to deal some foreigners as the Consortium looks outside the British Isles for solutions to their fairy problem. The gang war also begins with a quiet start as the Consortium Coalition falls apart after rolling a 1 on a d100 to see if how stable the coalition is that month.

Not too much to say here. I guess Sapphire Squire managed to fail an investigation check, which is arguably noteworthy, and she picked up some Expertise; Maid off of Tamara. The vote is self-explanatory so I don't really have anything to comment on regarding it.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Girl Talk
Girl Talk
"Okay Double-Bee, you got to tell me what has you in such a good mood," says Dorothy Dale as she and her best friend Brenda walk home together, "I haven't seen you like this since your mother got shot up."

Brenda barely refrains from wincing at her oldest friend's lack of tact. She likes Dorothy a lot, but the girl has never been particularly careful for the feelings of others. It hasn't really been a problem for Brenda before though she had to intercede in a few arguments and fights that Dorothy gets herself into.

"Things have been going well-ish for me lately," replies Brenda, "Mum hasn't gotten better and Dad is still busy, but I'm getting a handle on things. A friend of Dad's has shown me how to do things around the house which is good because I'm doing those things until Mum gets better. Other than that, I've gotten some good advice about some things which were worrying me."

"Like what?" inquires Dorothy, "Finally figured out what you are going to do with your life?"

"Actually Double-Dee, I have," Brenda tells her, "Sort of. Since I'm still a kid at school, I'm going to spend the next couple of years learning what I can and then make an informed decision regarding what I want to do when I am closer to adulthood."

"And that is different to not knowing what you want how?" asks Dorothy with a roll of her eyes.

"It is the difference between having a plan and not having a plan," answers Brenda, "Before I didn't know what I wanted to do because I wasn't sure on what to pick. Now I know that I don't know what to pick so I am waiting until I am more knowledgeable and older to make a choice."

"Sounds like semantics to me," says Dorothy.

"So you know what you want to do when your older?" retorts Brenda.

"Of course I do Double-Bee," answers Dorothy, "I am going to be an actress or a singer. Maybe both."

Brenda resist the urge to let out a snort of laughter. Her best friend may talk about Brenda not knowing what she wants to do, but Dorothy changes her desired career choice every month or two, often switching back and forth between the same set of options depending on what has currently caught her eye.

"You think that you could make it as one of those Double-Dee?" asks Brenda, "I know I couldn't."

Though given how well she has kept up her secret identity, Brenda feels confident that she could be a good actress. But she can't just tell Dorothy so she lies. Just a little lie, but a lie nonetheless.

"Of course I could," says Dorothy, "I am excellent at pretending to be something I'm not and making people fall for my lies. I would make for a great actress. I also got excellent control over my voice so while I may not be a natural singer, I bet I could do it."

While her friend is being a little boastful, Brenda decides that there is enough truth in that for Dorothy's claims to be true. Dorothy is very good at tricking others and making them fall for deceptions with part of that being able to put on a desired voice at will.

"Besides, I got the looks for it Double-Bee," continues Dorothy, placing a hand over her heart with a flourishing gesture and flicks her long blonde hair with a slight motion of her heads, "I've got beauty to become famous unlike someone eh? Eh?"

Brenda rolls her eyes at her best friend's teasing though Dorothy isn't wrong. With a slim figure, barely any curves, long blonde hair, a pretty face combined blue eyes that she can just flutter like nobody's business, Dorothy is a fledgling beauty by the standards of society. Meanwhile Brenda is almost the opposite with a lean muscular redhead who has rather generous curves and bright green eyes.

And Brenda is okay with that. While she has held a different stance in the past, Brenda finds herself at peace with the knowledge that she will not be considered to be beautiful according to the current fashion trends. Oversized chest and hips or not, she has enough beauty that Brenda is willingly to embrace them rather than bemoan them or trying to change them.

"But seriously Double-Bee, you have gotten unlucky with boobs of yours," says Dorothy as she gives Brenda's chest a friendly jab with her elbow, eliciting a squawk from the redhead, "Had you been a decade or two earlier, you would have been a real beauty."

"First of all, personal space Double-Dee," replies Brenda, defensively putting her arms around her chest, "Secondly, I am happy with how I look. This is who I am and I am going to embrace that."

"This is some kind of coping mechanism?" asks Dorothy as she peers in at Brenda, "Because this really doesn't sound like you Double-Bee."

"Just a new relavation that I came to after getting some useful insight and having some time to think about," explains Brenda, "That and I figured out how to make a useful bra."

"You make your own bras now?" inquires Dorothy, "What brought that on?"

"Mum used to do that and now she has stopped, I need to puck up the slack," answers Brenda with a shrug, "Speaking of which, I can't stay out too late. I need to get home so I can cook dinner."

"Cooking dinner?" says Dorothy with a shake of her head, "Dang Double-Bee, you're turning into a real housewife."

"You jest, but with Dad being busy all the time and Mum being whatever she is, I'm the one running the things at home," says Brenda, "So I do the cooking, the cleaning, the laundry and all of the other chores because if I don't, they don't get done."

"Ah. my little Double-Bee," says Dorothy with a fake sniff, "Growing up so fast."

Then Dorothy laughs and a moment later, Brenda joins even though the truth in her friends words keeps the joke from being that funny to her.

"I guess we'll splitting ways now," says Dorothy as they reach a turn in the street, "See ya tomorrow Double-Bee."

"See you tomorrow Double-Dee," replies Brenda as her best friend takes the turn, "Stay out of trouble!"

"You too Double-Bee!" calls back Dorothy, "You too!"

Watching her friend go, Brenda feels a twinge of guilt at the fact that she will most certainly not be staying out of trouble. In fact, if every thing goes according to plan, Brenda will find herself right in the thick of it tonight.

And this is the interlude where I have Brenda hang out with one of her school friends. Chronologically, this take places the same day as Outsiders I after Brenda finishes school for the day with the trouble she is referring to being Iron Fist and the Consortium weapon.

I attempted to display that Brenda has a healthy friendship with Dorothy, but also show that they are couple of teenaged girls. I have also tried to show that Brenda has been overcoming her issues due to the trusted opinions of Tamara and gaining confidence due to her actions as the Sapphire Squire.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Double Dee and Double Bee are the weirdest nicknames or am I just not a period teenage girl?

I don't know if they are realistic teenage girl names, but I can mentally picture some of the teenage girls doing it so that's good enough.

As for where the nicknames come from, it comes from a webcomic I read a few years back where the main character/side character (not sure which as it was years ago) is nicked named Double M as a shortened version of Mental Mistress/Mind Mistress (again not sure which) and I randomly thought of that when thinking of a nickname for Dorothy to call Brenda. So Brenda Brown became B B then Double B then Double Bee and I had Dorothy's nickname for Brenda. Then realised that Dorothy Dale could be shorten to D D or Double D which became Brenda's nickname for Dorothy.

Then I decided that Brenda and Dorothy read a bunch of pulp fiction or whatever the equivalent of the time is and decided to call themselves Double Bee and Double Dee to pretend that they are pulp fiction protagonists to engage in childhood fantasies. Incidentially, reading all of this pulp fiction with Dorothy is now retroactively the unexplained reason behind Brenda becoming the Sapphire Squire as it started off as her seeing how far she could take cosplaying her pulp fiction OC.

In other news, you may now start calling Sapphire Squire by her new nickname of Double Ess. :V

Mindmistress (Webcomic) - TV Tropes

Mindmistress is a webcomic created by Al Schroeder. Lorelei Lyons is the mentally-challenged daughter of millionaire Ezekiel Lyons. Her mother was a scientist who was working on enhancing the human intellect. Experiments were a partial success& …

There was also that retired villain quest where Mind Mistress was the ex-arch nemesis/Hero of the PC. Good quest that one.

Outsiders II
[X] Go and investigate whatever is happening on the other side of the river with Sapphire Squire.

"We should investigate that," you tell your squire as you stare at the other side of the river.

"Should I stay here and wait for Iron Fist to show up?" asks Sapphire Squire, "Someone ought to keep an eye on things here."

You consider it for a moment before deciding that splitting up is a poor choice.

"No, we will stick together," you answer Sapphire Squire, "I'll scout ahead and you can follow me with your wings."

"Will do Fairy Knight," replies Sapphire Squire as you take to the skies.

In the body of an owl, you are faster than your squire as while you have given her wings, those are less for speed than they are for manoeuvrability. So while they do let her move faster than she can on foot, Sapphire Squire has reluctantly admitted that she is better served by her grappling gauntlets when she can swing through the streets of London. It is when she has nothing to swing off of or from that your squire relies upon her wings, such crossing a wide open river like this.

Most of the time, the advantage of the wings is just being able to fly. For someone who primarily uses ranged attacks, being to hover in the air out of melee range can prove invaluable. Beyond combat and mobility, having Sapphire Squire fly about with her wings has greatly reduced comments on how young she is as apparently it is more acceptable to have a visibly magical kid as a squire than it is with a non-visibly magical kid.

Your owl eyes also let you see better in the dark than Sapphire Squire or even you in a human form. Things seem to have settled down on the other side of the river as you approach it, but you still able to see what is going on. A man in chain mail wielding a longsword, surrounded by knocked out thugs. You spot the sparks of lightning around the man, indicating either magic or some usage of electricity though you don't have any idea how the latter could be achieved.

Despite his gear, the man attempts to blend in with the shadows and does a surprisingly good job. Oh, he stands no chance of avoiding you since you already spotted him and you confident that you could find him if you were looking out for something abnormal, but the hiding is good enough to fool the average person.

Unfortunately for the man, you and your squire are far from the average person. While you could try to spy on the man, you got Sapphire Squire following you with her wings and whilst you have faith in her, you doubt your squire will be able to hide with those glowing wings of hers.

If you are to be uncovered, you would have it be on your own terms. Swooping down, you take on a human form, landing on the ground with Talatine in your hand and Torlyn covering your body. You and the other warrior stare at each, locking eyes as you attempt to intimidate the other into backing down.

It doesn't work for either of you. Whatever he might find of your blatant display of magic to be, the man doesn't yield and instead stands there imposingly, attempting to cower you into submission with a silent display of superiority. But you have encountered greater than his man without flinching and it will more than a capable opponent to scare you.

"Who are you?" demands the man with an accent that you can't quite place.

"German huh," says Sapphire Squire and both you and the man turn to see her perched on a roof, "You wouldn't happen to be Iron Fist by any chance?"

"Stay out of this girl," the man tells her, "This business is too dangerous for a mere child."

"Yeah, I'm not mere child Mr Iron Fist," drawls Sapphire Squire, "How about you tell us about the weapon that Consortium hired you to bring and we won't kick your butt?"

"You must be the Fey Knight and her Blue Squire," says the man as he glowers at the unimpressed squire, "I am not your foe. I seek my enemy Eisenfaust and then I shall come back to home."

"It is Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire," you correct him, drawing his attention back to you, "Do you know what Iron Fist or Eisenfaust as you call him is doing here?"

"That is my problem not yours," replies the man stubbornly, "I shall deal with him. Now I must go."

You and Sapphire Squire exchange a glance as the man turns to leave. He is clearly not Iron Fist and apparently considers the man to both be his enemy and his problem to deal with. You suspect that he is another vigilante, a foe of Iron Fist who has followed the criminal across the sea from his homeland.

While you hold firm to the belief that the enemy of your enemy is just your enemy's enemy, you feel that you could form an alliance with this man. He seems honest enough if a bit of an arse, but that isn't a deal breaker for you. On the other hand, the man seems stubborn enough that it might be a bit of a challenge to get his cooperation. He hasn't even given you his name yet.

What does Fairy Knight do?
[] Let him go. You don't need his help and he doesn't seem like he'll give anyway. You'll head back over to the other side of the river and see if you can still catch Iron Fist and the weapon arriving.
[] Force him to stay. You don't know who this man is or what they are planning to do. Don't let him leave until you got more information out of him.
[] Insist on talking. You need more information from this man. Try to convince him to answer some questions.
-[] Go for the basic information. Who is he? What is he doing here? Who is Iron Fist? You need answers to these simple questions.
-[] Go for the complex information. Who is he and what is he capable of? Who is Iron Fist and what he capable of? How does he plan to stop Iron Fist? Get as much information as you can.
-[] Try to convince him to work with you against Iron Fist. He knows Iron Fist and you know London whilst apparently having mutually aligned goals with each other.
[] Follow in secret. You need more information, but this man doesn't seem like he'll give. Follow him covertly to see where he goes and what he gets up to.
[] Write-in.

Spotting the unusual.
Perception Check, DC15: 16+10 = 26, 3 DoS.

Who is scarier?
Intimidation vs Intimidation: 15+2+2 vs 17+9 = 19 vs 26, Sturmschwert wins 2 DoS.

Imposing German?
Will vs Intimidation: 20+10 vs 10+9 = 35 vs 19, Fairy Knight wins 4 DoS.

Sapphire Squire is not impressed either.
Intimidation vs Will: 5+4+2 vs 3+9 = 11 vs 12, Sturmschwert wins by 1 DoS.

What sort of man is Sturmschwert?
Insight Check, DC12: 8+7 = 15, 1 DoS.

And so you meet Sturmschwert. What is name means and what his gimmick is should be easy enough to figure out. You also get to decide how to approach dealing with him, either trying to get information from him or letting him go and hoping that you are still in the right time frame to catch Iron Fist. I hope that the various options are self-explanatory.

Otherwise, I'm not sure what else there is to say. No fights have broken out yet and you are choosing how to handle the situation.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Is he Not!Zweihander? :p

So I think we need to get back to our original position to see if we've missed anything.
I also think we can tempt Storm Sword along by saying that we have a lead on where Iron Fist will be but I don't like my attempts to make that write in.
Can someone give us a hand?

Is he Not!Zweihander? :p

Nope. He is an inventor type who made an electrified sword to fight crime with.

Something like this maybe:
[] Try to tempt him. The man seeks Iron Fist and you have a lead on Iron Fist. Attempt to coax cooperation by offering to share that lead.

I was worried that implied our priority was on him, but my priority was getting back and if he's willing to walk(run) and talk then that is good.

Hmm...something like this then?

Yeah that looks good.
Thanks
