You know, each time I think of Okami, I can't help but wonder what would Ammy reaction to nasuverse Tamamo be? On one hand, Ammy has been slaughtering Yokai left and right. On the other hand, nasuverse Tamamo is... well... she is Ammy. So... Horrified? Insulted? Curious? Friendly? I can't figure it out.
nasuverse Tamamo would get Ammy's patented 'make life better' treatment, aka Ammy doing everything in her power to make up for the person's streak of horrible luck. She might not make the person have the life of luxury, but they will be happier than before.
Also, you know... panting. For rather obvious reasons as well.

Actually, she got serious on All Hollows Eve too. Including the nights leading up to it. And on All Hollows Eve she went patrolling while Taylor was safe at the shrine entertaining the neighborhood (and Wards).

While it's not m y favorite chapter by far, I think Halloween and its buildup are one of my favorite bits of worldbuilding in Constellations, as it implies that not only is the mythology and cosmology that Sunny is familiar with real, but that the same rule applies to other regions and heritages.

Hence why she was not only taken off guard by the idea of All Hallow's Eve, but took it very seriously, considering she couldn't be certain what all might start crawling out of the woodwork in the United States, where there's a fuckton of possible lore to to have perpetuated itself among the various and sundry ethnic and geographical histories in the area.

And considering the supernatural shenanigans that started up around then (including the spider-thing that tried targeting Taylor using Emma), makes you wonder if Sunny's presence awoke the supernatural in the area or just called attention to it.

It's a shame that some things aren't able to be easily expressed in your story by the characters. For instance not being able to talk, we aren't made aware of exactly what Sunny's thoughts are and why she was almost frantically rushing around on Halloween.

I only thought that it was a the surprise of the holiday arriving and that she hadn't anticipated it enough to prepare properly. I guess I did realize there was some worry about local lore, and that it would be influenced by her presence. Will have to go reread that again, hopefully remembering this so I can see what impact that knowledge has on it.

I think it's impressive how much you actually do get across to your readers given that handicap. Sunny is a very well portrayed character and very expressive even with not being able to talk.

That was sort of the point. Not knowing why she was worried made the reveal better when it occured.

...

She literally got worried immediately about hearing the lore RE: Halloween though?

It's not hard to figure out that, when someone starts fretting after hearing about this one thing that's about to happen, they're fretting about that thing.

What IS your favorite chapter ?

That's hard to answer, as I tend to plot out stories based on scenes rather than chapters. I think my favorite scenes tend to involve Oni-Lee; rescuing Dinah and visiting his sister's grave come to mind. ('There had been a man, before there had been Oni Lee.')

Her own experience informs that as well, as she was specifically keeping an eye on the Ship Graveyard.

Isn't that the John Ritter movie Hero at Large?

WOuldn't know, I never saw it.

I did see an old black and white movie about an actor who plays a Sy-fy action hero getting summoned to an alien planet because they think he really is his character. And him having to Hero Up as a result. SIlly movie, but fun. Wish I could remember the name anymore. Galaxy Quest also did that idea rather well.

I just had an idea. Shouldn't there be 4 baths in the onsen? One regular men, regular women, parahuman men and parahuman women. That makes four.

Or am I on the wrong track?

You think Ammy is going to only oggle one set of capes rather than both sets of capes?

On a more serious note I suspect the cape bath, in the very least, is going to be a more American bathing suit hot tub pool rather than a more traditional nude bath, in practice if not in aesthetic.

All those Protectorate-themed swimwear are finally used for something besides photoshoots.

So, I'm reading through the story and apocrypha again, and this jumped out at me.

While I generally agree, I'm... confused by the source. Datcord. Not encouraging shipping. Did... did I die? Did Truck-kun get me while I was asleep, and this is arguably the lamest isekai ever?

*Pokes Datcord in the arse.* No tail, not replaced by a trolling lizard.
No talking Snark, so not a secret Mauler...

AHHH!! Datcord has been replaced with a Pod person!

Or maybe he just didn't want to try and draw up a harem shipping chart since it looks too much like a tentacle beast, which requires too much scotch to deal with.

I fully expect the Reccetear-themed stream to end up developing a life of its own and somehow transform Uber and Leet into responsible owners of a novelty game shop.

Completely inexplicably, and with absolutely no divine intervention whatsoever.

Sunny: Bork?

There's actually a shop near my house where you can pay (either by the hour of for a full day) to use their PCs and consoles, or bring your own. They might do something similar, or even combine the two ideas (U&L set up consoles, have a selection of pre-owned games, patrons can try the games to see if they like them, and buy them if they do).

This is a worm/okami crossover.
WH40K has nothing to do with it.
Please cease this derail.

You may have missed part of the conversation there. That post was in response to a suggestion that Chessman should team up with Vista to hide empowered 40k miniatures (the titans mentioned) behind improbably small concealment, an old meme referencing a character who could essentially do just that.
