1. Three 'n's in Trunnions.
2. Again, whatevs on the Abrams being a medium.
Medium WWII tank is generally under 30 tons. The Abrams is 72 short tons(M1A2), The heavy Tiger I was 60 short tons.
That said, given "leveling effect" and "scared grunt who's been deliberately scared that his armor probably won't protect him", acting like his tank is more Sherman than Pershing is likely to keep him alive longer, and therefore in the fight longer.
IE fight as though his tank is a Sherman - keep to cover, or at least concealment. Arrange your tactics to assault the weak sides of the enemy tanks. Don't count on single shots to neutralize the enemy armor. Etc...
2. There really isn't a 'post-partum' distention like you're writing. Diastasis recti isn't that large.
Of course, he wrote "pre-partum" rather than "post-partum" - IE she was just about to give birth, but hadn't yet.
3. I get the feeling we missed something, intentionally or otherwise. This Abyssal is suddenly dead. Why and how?
I was thinking that the marines did the killing. Possibly an air strike. Something that should have been investigated. But, well, we have the body of a mother of demons and the creche of her youngest children. I'm willing to bet that they were killed by our hands, and ain't that going to give our boys nightmares for life? I can understand the call for thermite.
