Here's the thing, one of the ships sunk by these things, MS Munchin is the same length as an Iowa class Battleship in terms of length between perpendiculars, 262 meters, or roughly 859 feet, with a displacement of 43,000 tons only 2,000 tons lighter than the standard displacement for an Iowa class. What makes Rouge Waves so dangerous to any ship, is the fact that it is a breaking wall of water. Not an undulating wave like all ships are designed for. A ship can take about 15 metric tons per square meter without any damage, possibly double that and only suffering a dent, but 100 metric tons per square meter, ships can't handle that sort of force. Think of it this way, you fire at a PT-76 with a 22 Pistol which will just scratch the paint, hit it with a 12.7mm Machine Gun and you will just dent the armor, hit it with a 100mm Full Caliber AP round and it just punches clean through.

Case in point, take the 97,005 Gross Registered Tonnage, 205,808 Deadweight tonnage Crude Oil Tanker Energy Endurance, this ship was hit by a Rouge Wave and did the following damage:

The wave simply blew through both sides of ship near the bow, laughing at a large amount of steel like it was paper.

But I feel like I am beating my head against a wall that doesn't seem to understand the power of waves and the amount of force they can carry behind them and the major difference that their is between a Rouge Wave and a Normal Linear Model Wave. I am just going to watch Red vs. Blue now.
From casual looking at wikipedia, a few things stick out which basically rule out your entire theory.
1. the ship you referenced was a civvie cargo ship, not a goddamn battleship. Having been on cruise ships before, and having seen quite a few images of stuff like the titanic, I'm going to tell you that you're going to get maybe a a quarter or less in thickness than even the thinnest armor on an Iowa.
2. It appears to have taken over a goddamn day to sink the damn thing. With a thinner hull and all that stuff that contractors do to maximize shipping space that would theoretically compromise some form of compartmentalization. I'm not a ship designer (I would like to be, though), but I can tell you that a battleship is designed to have more and larger holes punched into its hull than a cargo ship
3. Fucking Destroyers and Cruisers have survived having bows shot off and shit, so a battleship not being able to do the same is laughable. If somehow this wave did take off a bow or put a hole through it, DamCon would seal up that area, radio that they took fairly severe damage, then steam back to dock for repairs.

...
Or do I need to pull up the video of when a Japanese Coast Guard ship encountered the 2014 Tsunami as it was building up and proceeded to climb over it?

Umm do you mean the 2011 Tsunami Harry? because I did a quick Youtube search and that's all I coud find (I looked because it looked interesting) and I found this,

And for some on topic stuff, I just remembered is Akagi doing the Razgriz thing back during the Northern Princess fight because she's played Ace Combat or seen Naka playing it?
Because I was rereading the fic and I got this mental image of Akagi sitting in a dark room, controller in hand trying desperately to finish that one mission and just the hint of her tongue poking out the corner of her mouth as she concentrates on not dying!

Dammit, sorry about that. But yeah, that's the video. There was another showing it from the air as well, which was something to see because you could better see just how huge the wave really was. Though still not as impressive as the Governor General Loudon. That ship survived being right close to Krakatoa when it erupted and faced the tsunami head on

... That is an adorable image.

*Sigh*
At this rate I'm gonna be forced to just bail from the thread before I say something I shouldn't.

So, rereading. And I came across Heerman during the fight against Northern. Music really does set the scene. Once again, The Last Of Us tore my heart out. All Gone, Aftermath, if you want to know.

Now I see her with a damn CAVALRY SABER leading a bunch of PT boats... that came back as horses.

Great pic!

So, I have a few pics from Cabot/Dédalo and I thought that I could share them with you.

A picture of Cabot launch day, April 4 1943.

A picture of Cabot taken from Philly Navy Yard.

Another picture. Note that the painting of teh number was not finished.

A picture of the ship badge.

A Kamikaze hit.

There are a few more, but it's enough for now.

Which then makes one wonder... how would the horses launch torpedoes? strapped onto the side like saddle bags I would guess.. which kinda makes sense seeing as how that's how actual PT boats did it

In a way that only Texans can perform, but everyone can appreciate. Looking at you, panhandlers.

How's she going to do that... I'm pretty sure her red line speed is still slower then a PT at idle
Well, that comparison isn't quite fair. After all, most USN PT boats red line at almost 40 knots, while our Yellow Rose managed 21.05 during her trials. Maybe, she would lead more like an Indian raid in old Westerns. Force the enemy to circle the wagons, and surround them.

EDIT: And then Texas blasts them all to scrap, seeing as they're nice and close together.

Just popping in to note that just for giggles, I sorted the FFN Kancolle section by favs and follows: Belated Battleship is the top on both, beating out Greatest Generation by 60 favs and 40 follows. Better hop to it, @Whiskey Golf. :V
