I liked the interpretation of sync feedback as a lotus eater machine of the pilots own making- if shinjis sense of duty wasn't as strong, would dream Mari have ever shown up?

Not sure, did not think about that aspect too much. I suppose it's possible, they lose themselves until it's impossible to get out.
 
On a lighter if self congratulatory note. I am seriously considering commissions some art of the fic for my birthday (Feb 11) as a present to old me. And I was pretty interested what scenes from the story so far have stuck out at you or had a strong emotional resonance. Its definitely something I am interested in and could very well affect my decision.

Maybe little Shinji and Asuka meeting Kaworu back in Germany? It's a pretty important scene.

I think shinji getting adopted by Mari would be a good scene, and as an introduction to the fics premise, would be a good way to drive readership if you got an artist with a good following.
 
Progress is going well, 2.5 k written now with probably that much to go. Its an interesting chapter to write since the nature of the battle lets me jump around a lot more then normal, using characters for POVs I have not touched in a while.

also I need to post this here because It keeps running though my head as I write

The Pain is going to save/fight the pilots next chapter?
 
Shipped off the chapter for editing, decided to split it into two parts to get a feel for the larger battle, I will admit this one has been harder to write then I thought it would be. Partially because we are getting to places that I have been waiting to get to for years now and honestly I am a bit reticent to put ink to paper because I am afriad I wont live up to my own ideas, as strange as that sounds.

On another Eva note, alebit much lighter I was happy to find my local card shop had the new Eva card game in stock, and given the choice...

I went with my ship... or at least 2 thirds of it :p

I am not sure the full range, it does not seem to say in the articles I am looking at, if you are interested though I would speak to the manager of whatever LGS is near you ultimately its up to them whether they want to carry it and that is usually based on perceived demand.

It's apparently the release for NA and EU countries and Bandai is distributing it through their distributors.

The other interesting thing is that it uses the same 'Chrono Clash' game system that the Godzilla and Naruto LCGs do, so maybe you could wind up with a weird crossover game
