[ ] Chicago Planned City
With Chicago becoming an ever more critical part of the Initiative's overall economic system, and one with a significant military presence, making the introductions in Chicago will be a mark of confidence in the military's ability to protect him, and an indication that the Initiative's newfound aggression will continue, and the high levels of funding along with it

Not particularly satisfied with any of the options really, but I'm looking to ramp up abatement and continue our military spending so guess I'm going for this.

Everyone, please remember the moratorium.

Anyway, leaning more on Initiative Energy Summit because that's the best place for Seo to present his ideas and gain general support.

if he got the good roll that is.

The Energy Summit sounds like the high risk, high reward option. I'm willing to roll the dice on it and see what happens, if he can make a good impression there it would significantly smooth out his ascenscion with the rest of the GDI and maybe even earn him a positive trait or two. If he fucks up and gets canceled, then..... oh well, we'll pick a new one, c'est la guerre. I think it's worth taking a shot and seeing what happens.

I know the thread is super risk averse though, out of the "boring" fallback choices that are less likely to explode I think the GDIOnline introduction is best, score some popularity points without being seen to overly favor any political party. Showing up at the Developmentalist PAC is an open political statement tying us to them, the Enterprise and Chicago aren't quite as explicitly political but they're still the "focus on military" and "focus on space" options which would align us with the Militarists and Starbound parties indirectly. GDIOnline aligns us with... shitposters, which honestly I'll take over tying ourselves to any Parliamentary party. Starbound or the Militarists or the Developmentalists can always roll bad and suffer a surprise loss in an election, shitposters are forever.

Hmmm...
I am down with rolling the dice, actually.
While Sato is my prefered candidate, if he absolutely crashes and burns than it would mean he was not cut out for the post in the first place.
On the other hand a good showing would cement his position and getting extra traits from the beginning would be great.

[X] GDSS Enterprise Refinery Module Opening
It would normally be customary for the Secretary to say a few words as the refinery module came online. However, by giving the honor to Seo, it would be possible to indicate him as your successor, push him into the ceremonial limelight, and gather support from the Starbound party. However, it is only a ceremonial statement, and will have low risks, but also limited scope for rewards.

We're not going to push him into the deep waters immediately.

Moratorium.

Right, so here's my (probably inaccurate) impressions of the various options for the successor interlude.

- The Developmentalist Political Action Conference
This one's the political option. Will likely remove political unknown malus, as well as maybe some bonus to Infra-dice. At the cost of Mil-dice bonuses and military confidence.

- Initiative Energy Summit
High risk option. Will definitely get rid of any political maluses plus probably add some other bonuses, at the risk of a good chance of a flameout.

- GDSS Enterprise Refinery Module Opening
Low risk, low reward. Alignment with the Starbound party and a bonus to Orbital dice likely. Good if we want to pivot now to space.

- Chicago Planned City
The military and tiberium option. Bonuses to Mil and Tib dice, but with an expectation to continue similar commitment to military spending.

- GDIOnline
The meme option. Won't get rid of his political outsider malus, but hey at least he's One Cool Dude. Not sure what bonuses this'll give.

I think GDIonline is the best. Its low risk and it does not affiliate us with with any of the major political directions. Despite it gives us bonus points with the shitposters, memers and the internet crowd and could help to humanize our Successor more.

Recall, we recently unlocked the option to develop a Tiberium fuel cell, and recall that Seo Thoki is a Tiberium Science radical.

At an energy conference... well it isn't a stretch to guess what he's going to be arguing for. Not sure if that's the best place to put him tbh, as Tiberium Power is a fraught issue, especially for someone politically blind without Granger's political capitol. Risky.

Honestly o want the GDI online for the narrative

Granger and his succesor are political outsiders it makes sense to have a informalnpresentation for them

That's the high risk part of the option. He fucks up, says the wrong thing, and we have to dump him and start over with a new successor. But the high reward part is if he says the right thing and manages to avoid sticking his foot in his mouth he could win a lot of support across the spectrum. It's the ride or die option, he either does great and gets some solid upgrades that will help a lot in the future or he fucks up so bad we have to replace him.

[ ] GDIOnline

Also, at most it is getting Flame War'd by Nod sockpuppets rather than something much worse.

It's going to be One of these two for me. (Maybe also the Energy one)

I think you're overvaluing the reward to be honest. He'll get a trait like "Poltical Tiger Rider". I just don't like taking the risky option in Planquests. We should be hedging our bets, not going all in.

I think setting up Seo in Chicago is a good intermediate choice. Its still risky, but sends the message that the Treasury, despite its early mistakes, has learned its lesson and Granger is making sure his successor doesn't repeat his mistakes. Seo will not inherent that baggage, that lowkey resentment for spending military lives pound for ton of Tiberium.

Probably better to have him interact with people in a informal setting to get a feel for him. We don't know anything about him other than a list of traits and his background.
