This will be 90/180/365 next turn at a minimum. What are people's thought on doing Aberdeen alongside North Boston? As in give it 1 Die this turn and then give it 2 Die until it is done and capped while we do North Boston.
North Boston 5 is an experimental design facility as well. Results from that may be applicable to Isolinear Chips. But not if we are already building Aberdeen at the same time.
Both projects only deliver a large capital goods at the end, so doing both at the same time means an even longer delay before the real payout.

Also given Boston is a plan goal there is no way we do not start it when we are finishing repulsors (unless repulsors finish on 5 dice).
Didn't we say something similar when the Alloy Foundries appeared? That we'd do Boston afterwards as it is a plan goal?
The temptation to squeeze in one more project before the plan goals tends to bite us on the sensitive hind area.
We speculate that things could go crazy when we start Karachi. It would be good to get most plan goals done before then.

My smartphone math ((145×0.2+145)×0.25−175) says that Islands should be 130 progress, once rounded to the nearest multiple of 5. At a 31 bonus and auto complete when near 15 needed to finish, Islands have about a 16% chance of finishing on 1 die. Given that R will be tight because of Portals, and Islands cost 25R per die and are not a High Priority project, that all seems fine to me.
Hmmm. Let's just say I'm iffy on it but not 100% against.

Didn't we say something similar when the Alloy Foundries appeared? That we'd do Boston afterwards as it is a plan goal?
The temptation to squeeze in one more project before the plan goals tends to bite us on the sensitive hind area.
Has it bitten us? Has it, really? We're a lot better off in a lot of areas for having done that project. Even in Heavy Industry we've saved something like 600 Progress on North Boston itself and easily hundreds of Progress points on the fusion reactors that we'd be having to build anyway.

We speculate that things could go crazy when we start Karachi. It would be good to get most plan goals done before then.
If things go crazy enough that we're unable to get any work done on North Boston in 2065, then things are crazy enough that GDI has much bigger problems than "we didn't deliver on our promises."

I just had a thought when we roll out the new Initiative Laser Systems they should replace the Tactical Airborne Laser pods so shouldn't that mean that we get back the 2 STUs that were spent on those?

Or are airborne laser pods such a big draw of the Initiative's laser systems that it just gets folded in and we go from "spending +2 STU on laser guns for the Air Force" to "spending +4 STU on laser guns for all branches?"

+2 Shalla Bay we can now build.

Edit:

Ah right in that case:

900/85 = 10.60
1860/95 = 19.58

10.60 + 19.58 = 30.18

First draft of a preliminary plan for next turn:

- 2 Die on Arcologies to get that done this or next turn and have more surplus of High Quality Housing, a Die on Suborbital Shuttle Service to slow roll it to completion and 2 Die on Postwar Housing Refits to do another Phase of it.

- 2 Die on Fusion Power to keep building up our surplus nd 3 Dice and an AA Die on North Boston to get that Phase 5 started.

- 4 Dice on Adaptive Clothing both to save money and also to simplify our economy and logistics. After all clothing that has at least adaptive colors will save on space as people don't have to buy as much clothes as they used to.

- 5 Dice on Reforestation Campaign to ger a Phase of it done in time for the elections and a Die on Agriculture Mechanization to get that done if it doesn't Autocomplete. I'll shift that latter Die elsewhere if Mechanization does Autocompletes.

- 2 Die on Enhanced Tiberium Spikes to get a better handle on our TIberium Inhibitor tech, a Die on Coordinated Abatement for now and 4 Dice on Tiberium Field Refinery Deplyoment to make sure we can retrofit that as soon as possible.

- A Die on Columbia to finish it, 5 Dice on Shalla to be able to finish it next turn, a Die and Erewhon on the Hospital Bay to finish it and 3 DIce on High Density Housing to start getting data on it.

- 1 Die on University Programs in case they don't autocomplete, if they do I'll switch it to North Boston, and 4 Dice on Portal Construction to get that done.

- 2 Die on Orca Wingmen to finish that off, 2 Die on the Stealth Disruptor because we need that as a surprise for Karachi, 1 Die to Develop Governor-As, 1 Die on Island Deployment to slow roll that, 1 Die on the last Shark Shipyard to get that over with and 1 Die on Modular Rapid Assembly Prototype Factory so that Steel Talons can expand their infrastructure even more.

- The promises that I wanted from last turn and a round of trade to see how that works in practice.

Idea scenario for NAT 1 on tib mining.

Mining collapse caused by tunnel support beams being eaten by tib.
Solution: Complete U-series alloys phase 6 so the mines can use the new tib resistant alloy for support beams.

Edit 2: I forgot to do the math for the various Munitions projects.

Yeah I didn't do the munitions math in my mathpost originally.

Tib Glass is presumably not strong enough to be used as structural supports in deep tib mines. We could coat the supports in it but that would likely break under the pressure at the top and bottom allowing the tib to invade through there.

Possible I guess, but that doesn't change the fact that the 6th Phase of U-Series Alloys is about cutting edges not support structures. So my bad for not pointing to that first and instead pointing to Tib Glass.

If 2 d50s in a project roll for a turn are a 1, that still counts as a critfail as if it were a nat 1 on the d100. It does make them much less likely unless we're dumping close to 10* dice on a project in a single turn, but it doesn't remove them.
*we mathed it out at one point, but I don't recall the exact number.

Wait? That is how it works? That actually increases the odds of rolling a nat 1 then! As more dice get added onto a project the higher a chance we will roll 2 nat 1s on that project!

I'm pretty sure that project doesn't change the chance of crit fail or crit successes.
What the rolls need to be will obviously change though.

We actually ran the numbers. A single assignment has a 1 in 2500 chance of rolling a critical failure, and it is only when you assign ten or more units to a project that it becomes greater than 1 in 100.

Transorbital is a plan goal so I would rather clear that out.

Edit- also with MARVs giving STU then free dice can turn into more MARVs which is kind of like tiberium dice with STU, income and mitigation plus opening up more inhibitors

Are we talking mostly development of weapon platforms? Because that's mostly what we have. I'd be down to do some particle beam dev, but I really want to get the ships, drones, and stealth disruptors out and done.

I am quite tempted to do a development turn Q4, and the Transorbital Fighters would be part of that.
Personally I think we should clear our existing deployment requirements (Orca wingmen, Sharks) before we go really wild about developments. Clearing the remaining required ZA factories before that is likely out of the question, but it would be nice to be a little more... focused. We can plink a couple dice into ZA per turn and work on the developments as the 'main' thing.

Also, speaking from a practicality standpoint I think Governor-A should be top priority since we're also obligated to deploy that and if there's an extra project needed to do that other than just the development project it would be nice to know ahead of the deadline. Also also, naval strategy is build strategy, so let's make sure to avoid the Escort Carrier Fuckery happening again.

Mostly, the temptation is there in order to get things ready to do the Refits department. But yes, I want to get the Orcas and Sharks done before we do much work on other deployments, and the Governor-A refit should take priority there.
