@Ithillid The threadmark is labeled "Q4 2053" instead of "Q4 2053 Results". (And last quarter's uses an un-capitalized "results".)

Saarland's not that expensive. 20R per dice pair. Plus while I don't know what our bonuses and dice will be next Plan, using last turn's numbers we'd have a 95% chance to complete it using 2 HI + 2 TIB dice and 40R total. So I could easily see us doing one or two dice pairs on Saarland next turn.

What I'd be worried about is if we're stretching ZOCOM too far, so another Zone Suit Factory wouldn't be amiss.
Yeah but with income likely sitting at 200 or so and 110 needed to boost our income that leaves 90, 10-30 is going to the mil and we need more logistics for glacier mining in Q2 plus dealing with any potential fires. Budget is going to be really tight.

Yeah with a lot of the major rebuilding done and us now looking at new building projects instead of just rebuilding everything next plan I'll be pushing for us to do more military spending for all branches and not just focus on one or two branches of the military.

Yea NOD is gonna start acting up again and already has, so while we have been doing good work so far in push them back more, we need more military spending as we dont know what they can be hidding in the red zones

Exactly NOD is adapting and bringing new weapons into the fight we need to keep ahead of them and do the same which calls for larger and more consistent spending on the military. Ideally we can start that off by finishing off the Apollo factory and Zone suits along with getting the new Navy hydrofoils and Point defense up and running.

Wait.... We voted for and met the DC for stuff like cooperatives. Why does the fluff say that the bill got significantly watered down?

I'm relieved the bill didn't pass as it was. IMO the bill that actually passed is far better for the economy and people. It provides flexibility & more choices for the people.

So, I was doing some mathing for Q1, and it's going to be pretty tight aside from the "get cash flow📈" projects, which I'm tentatively assuming are 2 dice on RZ Harvesting and Glacier Mining each, and 3 Orbital dice (2 of which are Fusion) for the "Orbital Cleanup Cashgrab" project.
Assuming the costs on that stay the same, that's a total of 145R. If we add 4 dice on Saarland, that's 185, but has a very good chance of finishing that too. Which is a lot, but should boost our income for Q2 by around 100R

End-of-year GDI budget is 880R, so if we go for 25% again, we'll get 220R. That leaves 75R free, so here is a list of cheap projects (some things may change, but I believe cost is less likely to change than progress needed.):

It's just a bit weird in terms of the narrative-mechanical linkage. I'd expect it if we beat the DC by less then 20 points but we beat the DC by 75, that's basically getting everything we wanted.
You went to Parliament with a whole long wishlist of items, and many of them were fairly intrusive. If you had beat the lowest you would be seeing a barely managed bill that was a very narrow set of regulations. With the second lowest, it would be a few items from your wishlist. Then on the one that you actually got, where it is about half the wishlist of major items and assorted lesser items.

Saarland all depends on if we can spare the resources for it, also given the way glaciers tend to roll for us I doubt we will need it before Q3, i would be more than happy to need it earlier, but as I said getting to cap good neutral could be worth it. Still getting shell online q1 is also a key for me.
The question is not "can we afford to," it's "can we afford not to." We do not want to be in the position of getting silo'd because we rolled well in one place and poorly in another.

We need to give something to the navy and army, as we have not been giving them that much
I think it borders on certainty that "do stuff for the Army, Navy, and Air Force" will be a very highly demanded promise from the large and influential Hawk faction in the legislature as we throw together the next Four Year Plan. We would be unwise not to make that promise, and even more unwise not to keep it.

On the bright side, we may be able to trade ambitious commitments along those lines in for a bigger budget.

Yep, its a good way to say: You want all these military projects funded? Well give us 35% of the budget then.
