you mean that logistics we just now got into the positive range of things and are not likely too stay there long?
It is far more likely than you might think. We are getting at least +11 Logistics plus potentially three or more given that we completed three projects this turn that boost the amount of logistics that cargo boats will be giving us. We have also gotten Rail and Road Expansion unlocked again and while it is is expensive in progress, it is a resource-cheap way of getting more Logistics and Council Support. It shouldn't be too hard to keep up an investment in them and if we pay attention to what projects we do, it shouldn't too hard to keep Logistics in the positives.

seeing the number of projects we have and the number of logistics they take, have a slighly harder tme thinking thats true.
still the talk was about past turns not now and beyond.

still if we can stay on top of our needs that would be nice!
some more ammo things might not be the worst thing ever, we seem to be very low on that for a while.

As the description says we have to many different calibers for our forces guns. Most of our Stage 1 deployments will actually take care of 10 (++++ ++) Ammo. The Leopard alone adds 4 Ammo.
When we consolidate we may see a large jump in useful shells, bullets and other munitions, and either send back ones that we cannot use back to the nations we got them from, either that or just use it up than relegate all the old equipment to museums and shit *obviously demilitarized*

might be true and all but the next stage of all that will drain a lot of that ammo.
sure that is a while off i am sure but still.

sure that is a while off i am sure but still.
We most likely will be forced to take ammo factories anyway as they are a cheaper way to spend Military dice than some other options. 1 Leopard dice costs the same as 3 ASM/AGM Missile Factories dice.

Just a hint now that you have the Bio-Verification unit. Since Supernatural Containment Facilities and Capture Exp are still not done, the Directors "Kill on sight" order still stands regarding Vampyres.

Officers: Handled by Sponsor Nations
Experts: Handled by Sponsor Nations

Administrative Capacity: 45

Free Dice: 2 DARPA Org Dice (Can be used for Research and Development Projects, do not cost Resources)

Infrastructure (5 Dice (2 Admin Cap), 3 Org Dice (1 Admin Cap)): +17
[]Fridge Outpost (Stage 3)
The basic structure of the Fridge is completed, all that remains now before an expedition to the Anomalies can be started is to make the facilities somewhat liveable, with larger rooms, more amenities, security, and laboratories so scientists can perform their work from there.
(153/200 25 Resources per Die) (Logistics ---, Fuel -, Security-)

[]Rail and Road Expansion (Phase 4)
Road and rail remain the unloved children of logistics, not as fast as air, not as efficient as shipping, they are nevertheless important and capable of moving large amounts of cargo between UNDC locations, with the added bonus of being free infrastructure for whatever nation they were constructed in.
(65/300 10 Resources per Die)(Logistics +++ ++)(+3 CS)

[]Logistical Airport Construction
While every UNDC airport will be able to both host and service combat aircraft the primary use of these sites will be the transport and transfer of cargo and personnel.
-[](Write in Nation or City)(0/100 20 Resources per Die)(Logistics ++, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases Logistics from Cargo Aircraft)

[]Logistical Port Construction
While ships are the most efficient way to transport goods they require supporting infrastructure, docks, loading cranes and refueling stations, to do their work. Constructing additional ports to serve as terminal points in the UNDC logistical network will support the auxiliary fleet.
-[](Write in Nation or City)(0/200 15 Resources per Die)(Security -, Logistics +)(Increases Logistics from Cargo Ships)

[]Maintenance and Supply Port Expansion
UNDC ports in strategic useful positions can easily be expanded both in strategic value and direct use by building additional docks and piers to resupply and perform extensive maintenance on naval vessels.
-[]Hong Kong (48/300 15 Resources per Die)(Maintenance +++, Logistics --)(Can use Military Dice)

[]Maintenance and Supply Air Base Expansion
Planes and jets are maintenance hungry machines that require the right infrastructure, facilities and experts to service them. Access to sufficient facilities can greatly enhance the effectiveness of UNDC operations in the region.
-[]Hong Kong (0/200 20 Resources per Die)(Maintenance +++, Logistics --)(Can use Military Dice)
-[]Southampton (0/200 20 Resources per Die)(Maintenance +++, Logistics --)(Can use Military Dice)
-[]Grangemouth (0/200 20 Resources per Die)(Maintenance +++, Logistics --)(Can use Military Dice)

Industry (5 Dice (2 Admin Cap), 2 Org Dice (1 Admin Cap)): +12
[]Industrial Exoskeleton Development Program
The problem of a portable power source cannot be solved with current technologies. However, cable powered exoskeletons could still be used for strength enhancement and protection in industrial and maintenance applications, where carrying the power with you is less of an issue. Developing a useful model will still require a lot of money and prototyping.
(109/125 35 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

[]Replacement Part Factories (Stage 2)
The next stage of Replacement Part factories aims to increase the supply of electronic components like logic boards for firing computers and other computer components.
(8/300 25 Resources per Die)(Maintenance +++ ++, Logistics ---, Security -)

[]Auxiliary Shipyards
Part of the license acquisition program was also the purchase for several commonly used auxiliary ship designs, both for containers and liquid goods. With the UNDC's funding, nothing stands in the way of constructing their own yards, and while their primary use will be maintenance, they will be fitted for construction as well.
-[]Busan (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Maintenance ++ +, Logistics --, Security -)(Increases RpD of UNDC Auxiliary Fleet, but reduces Progress cost)
-[]Seattle (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Maintenance ++ +, Logistics --, Security -)(Increases RpD of UNDC Auxiliary Fleet, but reduces Progress cost)
-[]Inverness (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Maintenance ++ +, Logistics --, Security -)(Increases RpD of UNDC Auxiliary Fleet, but reduces Progress cost)

[]UNDC Auxiliary Ship Fleet (Phase 3)
(18/??? 60 Resources per Die)(Logistics ++++ +++, Maintenance -- -, Fuel ---)

[]Utility Vehicle Production Complexes (Can use Military Dice)
Apart from ships there is also the need for vehicles and aircraft to supply the growing needs of the global army. Multi Use production complexes, more similar to small industrial cities, have been proposed to support the construction and maintenance of further expansion of the UNDC utility car and plane pool.
-[]Abu Dhabi (0/300 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics ---, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases RpD of Utility Vehicle Projects, but reduces Progress cost)
-[]Buenos Aires (0/300 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics ---, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases RpD of Utility Vehicle Projects, but reduces Progress cost)
-[]Glasgow (71/300 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics ---, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases RpD of Utility Vehicle Projects, but reduces Progress cost)

[]UNDC Auxiliary Plane Fleet (Phase 2)
Air shipping has become more and more important in the last few decades. While expensive compared to other options, it is also the fastest, able to transport cargo and passengers across the whole world in mere hours.
(91/150 80 Resources per Die)(Logistics ++++ +, Maintenance -- -, Fuel ----)

[-]NBC Deconstruction Operations (Phase 2)
With war having returned once more to the region, conducting time and resource intensive decontamination operations are too dangerous.
(171/200 25 Resources per Die)(+2 CS)

[]Fuel Extraction and Refining Expansion (Phase 5)
While some advanced fuel infrastructure is in place, it is far from enough. The UNDC will need more pumps, pipelines and refineries to achieve fuel independence.
(0/300 20 Resources per Die)(Fuel ++++ ++, Logistics ---, Security --)

Service (5 Die (2 Admin Cap), 1 Org Die (1 Admin Cap)): +14
[]Ongstrean-Detector UNDC Site Deployment
The AOD is for now only capable of detecting ambient magic, so a worldwide deployment is required before a picture can be gained of global magic levels.
(19/200 30 Resources per Die)(Enables global magic observation)

[]Upgrade Laboratories with Ongstrean-Detectors
While the capabilities of the AOD are limited, it is the only equipment that can be reliably used to monitor magic for research purposes. The expensive technology will need to be installed in UNDC RnD facilities before more advanced research can be done.
(79/100 30 Resources per Die)

[]Set up Disaster Fund Management
With the UNDC now allowed to use a certain percentage of its funds for relief efforts, one possibility is to give management of this portion over to an independent organisation to use it for a variety of humanitarian needs.
(0/100 5 Resources per Die)(-30 Yearly Budget)

[-]Recruitment Centres (Stage 2)
With a major force expansion far away, the UNDC does not need more recruiting infrastructure at the moment.
(23/200 10 Resources per Die)

[ ]Medical Support Ships (Phase 1)
With their own yards, the UNDC can begin construction of specialised medical support ships. More swimming hospitals than anything else, they can be deployed near a coast anywhere in the world, supporting whatever mission the UNDC is tasked with, be it humanitarian or military.
(81/450 20 Resources per Die)(Medical Capacity +++ +, Logistics +, Maintenance -, Fuel --)(Dice allocation in Service/Industry Dice pairs)

Military (10 Dice (2 Admin Cap), 4+1 Org Dice (1 Admin Cap)): +36
[]Military Headquarters Construction (Stage 5)
(69/??? 25 Resources per Die)(Requires at least 1 Infrastructure Die)

[ ]Strategic Air Defence System Deployment (+50 from contractors(1 F))
Deployment of the SADS system has been long awaited by both the military for negating the threat of enemy artillery on their bases and also by Industry and Infra for enabling some amount of construction in the combat zones again.
(0/200 25RpT)(Ammo -, Maintenance --, Logistics --)

Ground Forces
[]MRK Deployment (Stage 1 Active Military)(+13 from contractors(1 F))
The MRK was the result of a program to replace the current combat trucks of the US armed forces. With a 20 ton on-road and a 15 ton off-road payload, it has the capacity to carry whatever the mission requires.
(40RpD 203/210)(Fuel +, Maintenance +)
(Stage 2 Military Expansion 0/210 (Fuel +, Maintenance +))
(Stage 3 Security Forces 0/210 (Fuel +, Maintenance +, Medical Capacity +))
(Stage 4 Peacekeeping Forces 0/625 (Fuel ++ +, Maintenance ++ +, Medical Capacity +))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/210)

[]Enok Deployment (Stage 1 Active Military )(+13 from contractors(1 F))
The ENOK is a lightweight, armoured patrol vehicle that can carry up to 6 passengers.
(40RpD 43/105)(Fuel +, Maintenance +)
(Stage 2 Military Expansion 0/105 (Fuel +, Maintenance +))
(Stage 3 Security Forces 0/155 (Fuel +, Maintenance +, Medical Capacity +))
(Stage 4 Peacekeeping Forces 0/315 (Fuel ++, Maintenance ++, Medical Capacity +))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/105)

[]Osprey Helicopter Deployment (Stage 1 Active Military)(+13 from contractors(1 F))
The Osprey is an American multi-mission, tiltrotor military aircraft with both vertical takeoff and landing and short takeoff and landing capabilities.
(60RpD 96/125)(Fuel +, Maintenance ++)
(Stage 2 Military Expansion 0/125 (Logistics ++, Fuel -, Maintenance --)
(Stage 3 Security Forces 0/25 (Logistics +, Medical Capacity +))
(Stage 4 Peacekeeping Forces 0/375 (Logistics +++ ++, Fuel --- --, Maintenance --- --, Medical Capacity +))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/165)

[]Galil Ace Deployment (Stage 1 Fighting Forces)
With most of the rifles in use by the UNDC already chambered for NATO calibres, deploying the Galil out across the whole force won't change the supply situation much and is more for appearance and publicites sake.
(249/415 30 Resources per Die)(Ammo +)
(Stage 2 Military Expansion 0/415 (Ammo +))
(Stage 3 Security Forces 0/415 (Ammo +, Maintenance +))
(Stage 4 Peacekeeping Forces 0/1250 (Maintenance ++ +, Ammo ++ +))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/415)

[]Rifle Factory
With the number of contractors capable of manufacturing the Galil Ace more limited compared to the other contractors, increasing the UNDCs own production capacity will be important for a quick rollout of the assault rifle.
-[]Ashdod (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Netanya (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)

[]Infantry Gear Deployment (Stage 2 Military Expansion)
With intercompatibility between sets of infantry gear being less of an issue aside from ammunition, re-equipping the expansion forces will only have a negligible projected effect on logistics.
(0/385 40 Resources per Die)(Ammo +)
(Stage 3 Security Forces 0/385 (Ammo +))
(Stage 4 Peacekeeping Forces 0/1154 (Ammo ++ +))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/385)

[]Infantry Gear Complexes
Fabrication complexes dedicated to producing the large variety of infantry gear the UNDC requires.
-[]Moscow (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics--, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Lorraine (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics--, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Shanghai (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics--, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)

[]Leopard 2A7 Deployment (Stage 1 Active Military )(+17 from contractors(1 F))
The UNDC has over five thousand tanks from various generations, militaries and ages in use. Switching them all to common design will greatly simplify supplying and servicing these hungry machines.
(75RpD 17/415)(Maintenance +++, Ammo +++, Fuel ++)
(Stage 2 Military Expansion 0/85 (Maintenance --, Ammo --, Fuel --))
(Stage 3 Reserve 0/50)

[]Tank Factories
Main Battle Tanks are among the more expensive single items in the Ground Forces arsenal. UNDC owned factories would not only speed up deployment, but also enable production of the in-development Mastodon.
-[]Oslo (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics--, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Rotterdam (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics--, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Frankfurt (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics--, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)

[]Patria APC Deployment (Stage 2 Force Expansion)
The goal of the second stage of deploying the new APC is to re-equip the expansion forces to the level where they can reinforce the current fighting forces. By switching to a unified design, strain on the logistical system should be reduced somewhat.
(126/500 60 Resources per Die)(Logistics ++, Maintenance --, Fuel --)
(Stage 3 Security Forces 0/375 (Logistics ++, Maintenance --, Fuel --))
(Stage 4 Peacekeeping Forces 0/1500 (Logistics +++ ++, Maintenance --- --, Fuel --- --))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/500)

[]APC Factory
Part of the procurement deal was giving the UNDC the license to produce the Patria APC in-house. Constructing our own factories not only enables us to roll out what is arguably one of the largest mechanisation projects in modern history, but also will serve us well for producing and rolling out future upgrades for the platform.
-[]Helsinki (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Oslo (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Rotterdam (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Frankfurt (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)

[]Bradley Deployment (Stage 1 Active Military)(+17 from contractors(1 F))
IFVs are troop transports with the capability to provide direct fire support in combat situations. Not many of the Task Force's IFVs survived the Middle East Wars and the plan is to massively restock with the force expansion.
(60RpD 123/250)(Logistics +, Maintenance ++ +, Ammo ++ +)
(Stage 2 Military Expansion 0/415 (Maintenance -- , Ammo --))
(Stage 3 Peacekeeping Forces 0/250 (Maintenance - , Ammo -))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/100)

[]IFV Factory
IFVs are among the more expensive vehicles in the Ground Forces arsenal. UNDC owned factories would not only speed up deployment, but also increase the rollout of future upgrades and force expansions.
-[]Seattle (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Washington (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)
-[]Atlanta (0/100 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics-, Maintenance +, Security -)(Increases per Die cost but reduces progress cost)

Arbalète Deployment (Stage 1 Active Military)(+17 from contractors(1 F))
The Arbalète is a modern artillery system on a wheeled platform with close infantry support in mind. It will come in handy in replacing the diverse pool of current UNDC artillery vehicles.
(145/170 45 Resources per Die)(Ammo ++, Maintenance +, Logistics ++)
(0/415 Stage 2 Military Expansion)(Ammo --- --, Maintenance -- -, Fuel -- -)
(0/170 Stage 3 reserve)

[]HE Shell Factory Plants (Phase 1)
With the total expansion of artillery vehicles in the military's arsenal the UNDC requires a large ramp up of shell production, especially the simple high explosive variety.
(0/150 25 Resources per Die)(Ammo ++ +, Logistics --, Security -)

Hail Deployment
With the relatively small order of new rocket artillery platforms, the new hails will be directly put to use in the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict, where they will support ground troops with precise missile strikes.
(0/170 75 Resources per Die)(Ammo -- -, Maintenance -- -, Fuel --)

[]Hail Missile Plant (Phase 1)
Outside of the Hails unguided rocket model, the more technical complex munitions require the right specialised equipment and staff to assemble, necessitating an increase in UNDC production capabilities.
(0/150 25 Resources per Die)(Ammo ++, Logistics -, Security -)

[]Reactive Armor (Co)Development Program (Can be done as either a Codev or Dev Program)
Reactive Armor is a system of externally attached panels containing a light explosive. When hit with enough force, they explode outwards, causing mild to no damage to the vehicle underneath, but massive damage to the projectile. They have shown to be very useful in the Near East Wars by increasing the survivability of vehicles against flanking attacks and in urban environments. Several companies have already made offers to develop an improved version that is less volatile and offers even better defense.
(0/60 40 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

Air Force
[]ASM/AGM Missile Factories
In addition to bombs, air-to-surface and air-to-ground missiles further enhance the Airforce capabilities. While being more expensive, they fill a different niche, being a mixture of more accurate, longer range, better tracking, or just in the form of pods of unguided rockets.
(0/250 25 Resources per Die)(Ammo +++ +, Logistics -- -, Security -)

Helo Deployment
The Helo in its simplicity is a perfect replacement for the UNDCs current arsenal of outdated attack helicopters. While its arsenal is big enough to level a small town, equipped with guided munitions it can even assist the ASR in larger scale operations once deployment has been finished.
(82/200 60RpD)(Ammo ---, Maintenance --- --, Fuel ---)

[]B-3 Bomber Codevelopment Program (USAA)
Meant to be the US replacement for the B-2 Program, the B-3 is planned to have improved stealth, range and ordnance carrying capabilities in a less complicated package.
(0/150 40 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

[]Multi Role Jet Codevelopment Program (Write-in)
With the role as a peacekeeping and security force apparent, General Wu wants a next generation fighter plane to fit into that role: Reliable, fast and with a large payload capacity to be able to provide air support quickly.
(0/100 40 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

Navy
[]Naval Artillery Shell Factory
Naval guns have not changed much since the end of the second World War. Usually multi-purpose, they are built to fire a variety of shells for anti-aircraft defence, anti-ship combat, and shore bombardment fire support, though those roles have largely been taken over by guided missiles.
(0/150 25 Resources per Die)(Ammo ++, Logistics -, Security -)

[]CIWS Munitions Factories
Close-in-weapon-systems are close range point defense weapons meant to destroy incoming missiles and enemy aircraft. There are two types: A gun-based CIWS uses rapid-firing cannons placed on a rotating turret. Missile-based CIWSs use either infra-red, passive radar/ESM, or semi-active radar terminal guidance to guide missiles to the targeted enemy aircraft or other threats.
(0/150 25 Resources per Die)(Ammo ++, Logistics -, Security -)

[]Dissolve Submarine Force
Submarines are an inherently aggressive weapon. As the UNDC's primary mission is peacekeeping, there is currently no good reason for the Defence Command to have submarines and that opinion is mirrored among many of the council.
(Requires one Die)(+5 CS)(Ammo ++, Maintenance +, Fuel ++)

[]Dissolve Carrier Force
Similarly to the submarines, aircraft carriers are mobile airbases moved to locations where more standard landing strips might not be available. Similarly to submarines their character is certainly offensive and the process of handing them over to the UNDC was certainly not easy. Their original owners should be happy to see the expensive ships return into their hands.
(Requires one Die)(+10 CS)(Ammo +++, Maintenance +++, Fuel +++)

[]Frigate Yard Construction
With most of the current UNDC yards built for maintenance, repair, cargo transfer and resupplying, completely new yards will need to be built first for in-house construction, upgrades and refits. At 150 meters these ships will be on the smaller side, but each one still represents a major military infrastructure and industrial project, requiring multiple facilities worth of construction, storage and assembly halls as well as cranes and other auxiliary machinery.
-[]Osaka (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics --, Maintenance ++, Security-)(Requires at least one Industry Die)
-[]Hong Kong (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics --, Maintenance ++, Security-)(Requires at least one Industry Die)

[]Cruiser Codevelopment Program (Write-in)
With most of the UNDC cruisers being well maintained last generation ships, the need to replace them is not urgent. Development of a follow up design, built around carrier protection and escort duties, should start before it is critical.
(0/200 35 Resources per Die)(+3 CS)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

[]Assault Carrier Codevelopment Program (Write-in)
One problem in the UNDC's strategy so far is landing in hostile terrain with no friendly infrastructure. A short deck assault carrier, meant to transport Helicopters and air mobile troops should fill this hole in the UNDC arsenal.
(0/200 35 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

[]Carrier Codevelopment Program (Write-in)
At 120 000 tons, Torres' demands for a replacement vessel for the aging UNDC carrier fleet would make it the largest fielded carrier on Earth. Capable of carrying an entire small airforce, these ships would be a frightening sight for any enemy of the UNDC once fielded, be they terrorists, insurgents or warlords.
(0/300 40 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

[]VTOL Experiment Program
Vertical take-off and landing aircraft have long been used in cases where space for proper runways does not exist. The mechanical complexity of the aircraft however have always meant increased maintenance cost and time and less operational time. An RnD Division with the main focus being VTOL technology can hopefully produce ways to mitigate these issues.
(0/100 40 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

Security Forces
[]Security Review(Write-in Category)
While currently not clear who would want to infiltrate the UNDC it is clear that doing so is certainly a prospect to some actors to gain insight into the day to day operations of the organisation. A full security review of one department of operations can mitigate or discover infiltration, however it will take a significant amount of effort.
(DC 60, Project Takes up 2 Admin capacity. Dice used here do not use Admin Capacity)

[]Supernatural Containment Facilities
While facilities for Werewolf containment are already in place, DCSec still wishes for additional sites of varying security level. With the supernatural and mythological still lacking documentation, they want to be prepared should they be required to contain creatures or afflicted humans of varying power levels, be they more harmless than werewolves or not.
(0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Security --- -)

[]Pepper Spray Cannon Refit
A USAA police equipment company has offered the UNDC the option to refit the ASR APCs with a pepper spray cannon in a lightly armoured turret. While not all too destructive, it could prove useful for capture operations or in combat against creatures with high resistances to physical damage.
(0/100 10 20 Resources per Die)

[]Non Lethal Capture Experimental Program
The ASR has many tools for quick liquidation of subjects, but none for non lethal capture. Coming up with designs that can safely capture and restrain a Lycanthrope or a Vampyre will need a dedicated engineering division.
(0/75 20 Resources per Die)(Dice used here require 1 less Admin Cap)

Administration (4 Dice (2 Admin Cap)): +7
[]Convene with Cairngorms Spirits for assistance (Write-in topic or question, needs to be approved by QM, assistance may be cryptic or outright denied)
(Requires one Die)(Leads to vote on whether or not to accept their terms)

Dispatch - A UNDCQuest Sidestory
Dispatch - A UNDCQuest Sidestory

"Supernatural Investigation Division dispatch, who am I talking to?"

"This is Sheriff Dunkin from the Sallet Town Sheriff's Department, we eh, we have a situation here."

"Can you describe the nature of your problem?"

"We have one missing person case and found some...witchcraft stuff. Symbols on the walls and floor."

"Understood, we will send a team. Can you give me more information?"

Hannah Brooks did not hate her job. The UNDC Supernatural Investigation Division paid a lot better than the police ever did, but the new job also required her to travel halfway across the continent, sometimes for days, to figure out what exactly had killed some farmers' cows or terrorised the locals. Most of the time she felt like an over glorified biologist for the creatures from the stories she had read back when she was ten.

Speaking of biologists, her partner, Anthon Derrick had just returned from the gas station with two coffees and hopefully a candy bar. He opened the car door and managed to maneuver himself inside without spilling the priced liquid over his suit. He threw the candy bar into her lap before she devoured it like the hungry animal she was.

"Don't forget to chew.", he commented and took a sip from his coffee.

"Shut up." She grinned and started the armored car the UNDC had procured out of US military surplus. Derrick took a long look at the gas station bill and muttered under his breath.

"I could have never imagined that we would go back to a time where the gallon was only four dollars."

"Is that really what you are thinking about?"

"No", he admitted and handed Brooks her coffee. "I am thinking about the missing man. Do you think we are actually needed there?"

"If this job taught me one thing, then I know nothing."

Derrick huffed in response. "People go missing all the time. And the "supernatural" has so far mostly turned out to be some larger and scarier than normal animals."

"That is until it isn't."

Neither of them said a word, but both had heard of colleagues who had gotten in way over their head. Most of it was classified, but people let things slip at the water cooler. Rumors of human sacrifices, mutilated bodies and contracts with paranormal entities. Minutes later Derrick drifted off to sleep, trying to get in a few more hours of sleep after he had driven the night before.

When they arrived at the specified address someone was already waiting for them.

"Sheriff Dunkin", the mustachioed man introduced himself as they shook hands. "Glad you could come, the worst I ever had to deal with before were drunkards and teenagers tagging trees."

"Is this the location?" Brooks asked dryly.

"Eh, yes." Dunkin turned towards the family home. "The Addens live here. Jaina and Tom Adden and their two kids. The mother reported Tom as missing yesterday and... the stuff she found in his office."

"Are you sure he did not just abandon his family?"

Dunkin threw Brooks an angry stare. "I know Tom, he is not the kind of person to abandon Jaina and the kids. Besides, who does not pack the bare essentials when bolting, and his car is still here." He pointed at the pickup truck in the driveway.

"Makes sense."

"I'm just gonna show you."

With that the three walked up to the old house. Dunkin took out a key and unlocked the front door, which opened with a creak.

"Is the rest of the family not home?" asked Derrick.

Dunkin shook his head. "The older son Jake is at the city hospital. Leukemia in the final stage. Jaina asked me to show you around instead."

The inside of the house was about as Brooks expected, but looked like not much had been moved in the last few weeks and dust collected on every surface. Dunkin walked up the stair into what she assumed was Tom Addens office.

"Oh fuck no, please not." she blurted out at what she saw.

The furniture had been moved to make space in the middle of the room, the walls hung full of chaotic notes and scribbles. Every available surface had been covered with intricate symbols and drawings that seemed almost hypnotic, most seemed to be chalk, but a few were the reddish-brown color of dried blood. A large septagram had been carved on the floor in the middle of the room.

The sheriff grabbed a cross on a chain around his neck and mumbled something. Derrick, ever the most social competence of the two, could not help himself to comment.

"You know this does not work, right?"

"What?"

He pointed at the cross. "The UNDC did tests. Crosses, prayers and holy water do not seem to inhibit the - ouch." He stopped when Brooks punched him in the arm.

"Go get the photo gear."

Derrick seemed to realize his blunder and disappeared down the staircase again. Carefully, Brooks stepped into the room, trying not to touch anything and taking special care to not step into the septagram to read the notes on the wall. The handwriting was barely decipherable and the few she could make out made little sense. "The math is wrong", "Constellation unfavourable", "Sacrifice?!"

Dunkin seemed to have collected himself but remained firmly outside the room. "So..what now?"

Brooks sighed. "We make some pictures, send them to Dispatch and they either tell us to document everything or wait for reinforcements to help us document everything."

"That's it?" He sounded baffled.

"That's it." She shrugged.

"Tom has been snatched by who knows what and you will do nothing about it?"

"Sherriff", Brooks turned to face him. "IF Tom Adden has been eaten or disintegrated or kidnapped by some paranormal entity there is nothing I can promise you. The SID primarily exists to gauge the threat of any supernatural encounter, not fight or reverse them."

Derrick meanwhile had returned with the high resolution camera and was taking photographs of everything. For a split second she thought she had seen something standing in the center of the room, but there was nothing. Maybe she was getting tired, so she refocused her attention on the bloody symbols, putting on a rubber glove to carefully examine how they were drawn across multiple pieces of paper when she heard her partner gasp.

"Everything okay?"

Derrick was ghost white as he handed her the digital camera. "Look."

He switched between two pictures he had made of the wall opposite to the door. The first one was inconspicuous, but the flash for the second one had captured a monstrous humanoid standing in the middle of the septagram. A tall skinny humanoid without skin, bone, muscle and sinews exposed to the air. red and white boney plates covered its chest and arms and its face was an eyeless, smooth mask of hard tissue only broken up by a toothy maw and two horn-like protrusions growing out of its forehead that curved backwards.

As if on command the creature reappeared in Brooks field of vision, halfway finished peeling itself back into reality when she focused her attention on it. The muscles in its neck twitched as it turned its head towards her, and even if it had no eyes she felt an intense gaze on her.

Brooks closed her mobile phone and returned to Derrick. The two had taken up station at the sheriff's office and were eating the first real meal in two days.

"The ASR is on its way."

"Thank god."

She grimaced. "In two days."

"What", he paused with a sausage halfway in his mouth.

"Whatever we found is not going around murdering people. So we don't get the helicopter treatment."

He grunted and put down the fork. "What are we supposed to do about it?"

"Observe", she turned around the laptop that was showing a low resolution live stream of a camera set up in the office. The demonic creature had not moved much ever since they found it, only occasionally turning its head. "Also Dispatch wants more pictures of the symbols. They hope to cross-reference some of them in historic documents."

"They want us to go in there again?" Derrick asked bewildered.

"Are you scared?"

"Yes." He admitted and continued eating. "But I worry more about the locals' safety than my own. Who knows what that thing is capable of."

"Anyway", Brooks derailed and stuffed down the last of her hamburger. "I need to clear with the wife the details of her husband's office becoming UNDC property."

"And if she makes problems?"

"Dispatch has already had a talk with a state court. If we need to, we can confiscate the entire house."

"I don't like this Brooks." Derrick put down his food and turned the laptop towards him again. "We can go anywhere, get into wherever, confiscate everything with the snip of a finger."

"As long as the US accepts the UNDC running around playing magic police, which will probably not be forever. I'm gonna take the car, you take the pictures."

Carefully Derrick maneuvered up the old house again, flinching at every creaking step. The creature was still standing where they had left it. Careful to not get too close, he made the closeups of the various notes and pages tacked to the wall, trying to not to think about the monster next to him.

A bead of sweat ran down his forehead, the side of his face and dropped into the groove of the large septagram carved into the ground.

DO YOU FEAR ME, ATHONY?

Derrick jumped around, pressing himself against the wall. His eyes darted to the creature's face, but its maw was as closed as always.

YEEEEEES, YOU DO. I CAN TASTE IT.

He did not know what was scarier. The fact its mouth did not move or that its voice felt...trustworthy. His eyes darted to the door three meters away from him, but his legs did not move.

I CAN FEEL YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE.

He was not. The economic crash had destroyed what plans in life he had had and he was stuck in a job that became weirder every day.

WHAT IS IT YOU DESIRE? MATERIAL WEALTH? POWER? WOMEN?

Yes, maybe he desired all that. He took a decisive step into the magic circle. The demon raised up one of its arms and lifted up his chin with a claw life finger that pierced his skin and drew blood that ran down the claw before it dropped into the septagram grooves. Instinctively he opened his mouth before the demon crawled inside, head first, down into his stomach.

WE WILL have a lot of fun Anthony.", he finished, feeling power brim through him. Fuck this job, fuck the UNDC. He could do whatever he wanted. But first he needed to make sure no one could get access to this power. It was his to have, his and his alone. A canister of gasoline was found quickly in the garage and minutes later the old house was aflame. He felt a connection to another place break as the flames consumed the floorboards in the office finally free.

When Brooks returned she only found the house in smoking ruins as the fire department packed up. She had found the rest of the family in a celebratory mood. Jake's Leukemia had seemingly disappeared from one day to the next and the mother was not in the mood for signing over her house to the UNDC. Only the threat of confiscation had turned her around and she had begrudgingly accepted the check. Derrick was nowhere to be found, but the laptop had saved the feed, including the truly gruesome scene that had transpired. Grimacing, she pulled out her mobile phone and called dispatch, as she rewind the footage again and again.

"Agent Brooks, what is the situation?" the familiar voice of her Dispatch contact came up.

"Rogue supernatural creature", she explained as she uploaded the footage. "Perhaps with mind control or suggestion abilities, has...taken over the body of Agent Derrick."

"We will review your reports, but your personal recommendation."

She paused for a minute as the feed of the second camera flashed over her screen. Sheriff Dunkin was getting out of his car and approaching Derrick, the house already alight behind them. As soon as the Sheriff was close enough, Derrick extended long, thin claws out of his right hand and pierced the man's chest, before bowing down to remove something from the dying man's neck. The creature, or her former partner she realized with a feeling of regret, looked at the cross necklace with amusement before hanging it around its own neck. She had left him alone, thinking nothing would happen.

"Shoot on sight, if possible capture alive."

"Understood."

Damn, I was expecting more monsters species and maybe fixed dimensional portals. Dangerous, but still something that can be handled with Military Bases, patrols, and obscene amounts of firepower.

Summoning and Demonhosts are something different, mostly because it seems that they can appear anywhere via ritual. Hopefully the Ongstrean-Detector Deployment can alert us, else things are going to go bad very quickly.

Ah so it is one of those types of demons, those are a serious pain in the but to deal with. Especially when we barely know how to deal with supernatural stuff to begin with.

Ahhh Christ this is bad. From the description it sounds like something out of Native American lore, and those things are nasty already. Vamps and wolves are bad enough, but the idea that anyone anywhere could be a meat puppet is gonna escalate shit to a whole other level. Anti memetic training might prove important.

Too relieve your worries, the very spooky cases only make up less than 1% of the cases the SID investigates and include worse stuff I am not referencing much because I don't want to be overly grimderp.

Would not be very accurate of the situation if I focused on human bodies fused together in agony instead of "A basilisk ate my damn cows and insurance does not want to pay"

So we got deals with the devil going on...
Well, at least they are currently relatively rare, which still leaves the fact we got possibly demonic spirits possessing people doing who knows what.(Though only one confirmed.)

Well, it does sound exactly like stories that may have inspired such stories. :D
Promises everything, takes everything.
Well, this has really highlighted the need for capture equipment and research gear.
And the need for better training so our agents/soldiers don't get possessed, from a rational standpoint no deal is worth losing everything you care about.
