I'm not seeing anything about them withdrawing their vote in thread.

As such it doesn't count.

No, I don't have a problem with the Discord existing. I have a problem when it alters gameplay without said effect being mentioned in-thread.
We had a tied vote and one of the voters broke that tie for the QM by withdrawing their vote. Yes, the QM should have posted the final tally in the thread, but this is the same thing that happened in Q2 2011 where the final tally was tied, but then someone told the QM that they were withdrawing their vote, which resulted in the tied vote being broken.

The tie was going to be broken one way or another, the fact it wasn't broken in your favour doesn't make it invalid nor does it mean that you got treated unfairly.
Okay, suggestion. I change Bradley Deployment back to IVF Deployment and Anonymise the 3 factories and we repeat the Bradley/Type 08 vote next turn. Alternative, I use my 1 Council Veto to override the IVF vote.
I would object to this unless you are referring to using the Council Veto to represent the tie being broken in-universe. The vote was decided fairly and just because someone is being salty that the tie wasn't broken in their favour isn't a reason to repeat the vote.

This was the idea. I would have liked to do more evil things with it, but I can get you to give me more in the future.

I don't have a problem with the tie being broken in favour of the Bradleys. Hell, if the QM had rolled a 1d2 and it came up Bradleys that would have been fine. What I have a problem with is that nowhere in the thread was it said that there was a tie, and no one changed their vote in the thread so the tie was broken or another method used.

You said that all happened yes... But that all 'apparently' happened on the Discord. The Discord is not the thread so it did not happen in the Quest. It happened outside of the Quest Thread where not everyone involved in the quest reads.

Yes, you can just give a link to said Discord and people can join that, but that means they need to be active in two places to play the Quest. Hell, I suspect I'm probably a member of the Discord this Quest is on though I'd have to look through the handful of most likely Discords to check. It will still mean that anyone who doesn't join the Discord or doesn't keep up with the discussion on said Discord is at a disadvantage compared to others because now they're not receiving critical official information that affects gameplay when all official, 'yes this is verified and will affect gameplay' information should be in the thread. Or at least, mentioned in the thread as well as the Discord.

I welcome a response from you, but I'm unlikely to respond because I've said my piece and don't want to devolve this discussion further as I don't see it going good places...

[X]Type 08 (SAEC)
[X]Bradley (USAA)
Note: My vote on the IFV was changed last minute and controversially to the Type 08, it was originally the Bradley IFV. furthermore, my Type 08 vote should be rescinded and returned to the Bradley, I will not be voting in any of next turns proceedings or any half turns before it etc. as apology
I apologize to you all for causing this mess, as the cause of this mess in the first place, as stated in the above mess, my vote is being rescinded, and returned to the correct item, or totally struck from the board, furthermore, I am not voting for a while.

I made the choice to change my vote for some harebrained reason even I don't know, which was a sudden rush of incompetence, so apologies.

QM I also apologize to you as well.

Seeing as neither of the plans have IFV relevant options in them, and that @LordArcturus has now stated that they've withdrawn their vote for the Type 08 in the Thread, I'm fine with the Bradleys having won.

It was just the fact that no one mentioned the tie and solution in the Thread that I had an problem with. Hell, if BOTcommander or someone else had said that LordArcturus was withdrawing their vote before the update went live and Arcturus didn't indicate otherwise then or afterwards, that would also have been fine.

Let's just let things be, the chioce of IFV isn't the sorce of emotions but how the selection came about. Something has been learned and taken on board, BOT's a nice fellow and meant no harm so let's not push for a punitive rewrite.

That done, time to vote for me.

[X] Plan Planes, Deployments & Commitments

I do look forward to the controversy we cause by investigating incendiary weapons right after approving the use of chemical weapons as a military organisation...

Also a question, sorry if it's been raised before, but using an Organisation Die on a research or development task just means said organisation gets access to the research, right @BOTcommander ? It doesn't mean that they get automatic access or joint control over any design created through that die?

So for example, with the winning plan DARPA gets access to everything they need to potentially develop their own powered exoskeletons or magic detectors, but if America than starts producing those for themselves without paying a license fee to us they get in trouble? And they'd probably also need to make their own version produced using said research 'distinct' enough or it violates our patent on the design...

They will of course produce their own designs that are different enough to not cause problems in a copyright court.

I was thinking about potential actions for next turn and there are two things I noticed in the options from this turn.
Galil Ace Deployment (Stage 1 Fighting Forces) 55/415
As part of deployment promises to the Security Council, the distribution of the new assault rifle begins. With hundreds of thousands of rifles needing to be manufactured, tested, packaged and sent out the deployment sees a rough start. Most issues will hopefully be gone as the interlocking gears of suppliers and delivery times improve, but this quarter less progress than hoped is made.
[]Galil Ace Deployment (Stage 1 Fighting Forces)
With most of the rifles in use by the UNDC already chambered for NATO calibres, deploying the Galil out across the whole force won't change the supply situation much and is more for appearance and publicites sake.
(17/415 30 Resources per Die)(Ammo +)
(Stage 2 Military Expansion 0/415 (Ammo +))
(Stage 3 Security Forces 0/415 (Ammo +, Maintenance +))
(Stage 4 Peacekeeping Forces 0/1250 (Maintenance ++ +, Ammo ++ +))
(Stage 5 Reserve 0/415)
The Galil Ace progress seems to have been lost in copying options since it should be 55.
[]Frigate Yard Construction
With most of the current UNDC yards built for maintenance, repair, cargo transfer and resupplying, completely new yards will need to be built first for in-house construction, upgrades and refits. At 150 meters these ships will be on the smaller side, but each one still represents a major military infrastructure and industrial project, requiring multiple facilities worth of construction, storage and assembly halls as well as cranes and other auxiliary machinery.
-[]Osaka (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics --, Maintenance ++, Security-)(Requires at least one Industry Die)
-[]Hong Kong (0/200 25 Resources per Die)(Logistics --, Maintenance ++, Security-)(Requires at least one Industry Die)
I have a question about this. Will we need our own yards to produce frigates or is the option to deploy frigates just missing because it is still on the development timer?

The way I figure it, we're not designed as, or likely to become, a for-profit agency. The Muricanians giving us more dice with which to develop Cool Shit for our own use outweighs the fact that it gives them access to our Cool Shit without paying us.

The Galil Ace progress seems to have been lost in copying options since it should be 55.
I will investigate this.

You cant deploy them yet because of the dev timer, yes. Once it is finished you will either need to have own facilities or go run to one of the Military Contractors to get access to their yards, instead or having access to them from the start, because its none of their products.

* Plan focuses on getting enough of an air fleet to reduce our Logistics deficit and letting us spend more than 1 dice per turn on Antarctic Outpost.
* Spending on internal security such as Supernatural Containment Unit and Bio Verification unit, becoming more important with the werewolf attack in Birmingham and the vampire infiltrator in our headquarters.
* DARPA spending on Railgun and Laser Point Defence so those breakthroughs can be included in our new Cruiser and Aircraft Carrier designs.

At the UNDC RnD bureau desing rooms.

Multiple people walked into the room, one of them pulled a stack of papers and starts to pin some papers to the board. After she is done she sits in one of the chairs

She begins to speak ,,I callled this brainstorming session to figure out how to provide mobile power to our Exosuits so people throw out some ideas no matter how crazy they may seem'' She sits down and one of the engineers stands up ,,One idea i thought about utilizing an an radioisotope generator generator to power it, particullary an direct charging one to make it as small as possible.'' An second enginner stands up and says ,,What would be the source?''

The first one replies ,,We could use Strontium-90 and if that is not enough we could use curium-244'' ,,And how would be contain the radiation ?'' ,,We could use microtherm insulation coupled with ant hermo eletric conversion unit incase of overflow since it would just heat up the outer layer'' The first speaker stands up ,,That is all and good but can we make this in sufficient enough numbers ?'' The first enginner responds ,,Probbably altought I do not know how economical it would but that would be a puzzle for the accounting department to figure out''

Some time passes in the disscusion where they figure out the details and how would the battery be composed internnaly.

The organizer begins talking ,,So we mostly figured the technical details of the battery but we missed how would it be connected to the exo suit'' ,,We could run a 400 volt cable from the outtake port and connect it into the main juction and secure it with plastic molds?''

,,Could work we just need to test it'' The first speaker stands up ,,The hour is growing late let us recovene tommorrow''
