Just had to give you the choice... and tell you, you could sense that shit.Yeah no, an Arryn who doesn't worship the Seven is hardly an Arryn at all.

Warging&Greenseeing are bloodline abilities, not religion specific ones. Also, i don't know about you, but if i was an Old God and a mortal betrayed their faith to start worshiping me for power then i would be leery of giving them anything. After all, if they're willing to betray one faith for another, then who's to say they won't do it again, actions speak for themselves after all, and nobody loves a treacherous person. And that's without taking in consideration that in universe it's specified that the Old Gods don't demand to be worshipped, unlike other religions, and doing so will get you nothing. Unless of course you're speaking about the Three Eyed Raven, in which case you are a fool, a bigger fool than Rhaegar was, that's for sure, and everyone knows what happened to him.[X]To Follow the Old Gods: There is a power in the nameless gods of the North. A power that you can feel. (You follow the Old gods of Westeros.)
The old gods are in our blood, if you want to persue Warging ir any form of magic you have to follow the only faith on the continent that allows that sort of thing. We gain nothing from the seven but platitudes and absentee authority figures while the old gods will help and look after us. We literally have no valid reason not to persue the old gods.
Point of order: we're not betraying anything, we haven't picked our religion yet. You can't betray a religion you haven't even joined yet.Warging&Greenseeing are bloodline abilities, not religion specific ones. Entirely false; the House of Arryn traces its lineage to the Andals, who invaded the people who worshipped the Old Gods. The old gods are in our blood, if you want to persue Warging ir any form of magic you have to follow the only faith on the continent that allows that sort of thing.
You are forgetting about the most useful aspect of religion: acting as a glue and creating bonds and loyalty and community. And in terms of how powerful that is, I refer to you the zealots Cersei nearly gained control over (she only failed due to being a psychopath who broke basically every rule ever). Hell, just take a look at the Roman Church in the Middle Ages to get an idea of what we can potentially do.We gain nothing from the seven but platitudes and absentee authority figures while the old gods will help and look after us.
But we have a mother who was a Royce, one of the few families in the Vale that were kings of their own realm during the Andel invasion. Meaning they potentially had the ability to Warg or Greensight due to being first men, even if it was a one in a million chance due to Andel blood mixing in over the centuries.Entirely false; the House of Arryn traces its lineage to the Andals, who invaded the people who worshipped the Old Gods.
Another recent and continent-appropriate one is the Faith Millitent uprising during Meagor the Cruel. You are forgetting about the most useful aspect of religion: acting as a glue and creating bonds and loyalty and community. Not really seeing a downside here. Well, except for the zeal. Zealotry is uncool, and I want us to be really fly. You know, for an andal guy.Another recent and continent-appropriate one is the Faith Millitent uprising during Meagor the Cruel.
They damn near overthrew people who had quite a few large, fire breathing dragons, with only zeal, numbers, highly trained knights and potentially a conspiracy between the faith and the Maesters.
