As An Eagle Flies (A House Arryn Quest)

[X]Plan: Hold on tight boys, shit is bout to go down.
-[X]Partake in the Council meetings: You are going to partake in your council meetings, as is your duty as lord.
-[X]The Adventures of Daemon The Rogue Prince Part 1: You began to read the Journal. And were surprised to see it was of Daemon the Rogue Prince, after the Dance of Dragons.
-[X]Balance The Books: Your father has always been a dutiful record keeper… however, now that you are in charge, you must be prepared to… fix any discrepancies. And end the wasteful spending.
-[X]Drill the Garrison: The garrison must in top shape for raids, defending, and maintaining discipline.
-[X]Gather A Stockpile of Weapons: The Eyrie does not have a peacetime stockpile of weapons, having been exhausted during the Brotherhood war. You will need to replace it.
-[X]Build a Retinue: You want to create a retinue of sorts, to assist you in your duties and in your travels around the Vale. (Note, this will Generate a Random Retinue of Locals from Around the Eyrie, you will not be able to build it yourself via events from other actions, or from keeping.)
-[X]The Bow Dispute: The Hunters and the Corbray's are arguing about Broken Bow pass again, and they have requested that you hear their case, and decide on the issue.
-[X]The Crown For a King: Aerys has heard of you being crowned king… and wishes to remind you that you are not a principality… your crown belongs to him. You need to come to king's landing and repledge your fealty… NOW.

Edit: Fixed the vote by replacing the Keeping the Peace actions.
just going to point out that the Bow Dispute can't be done because we did it last turn.

This turn seems to be a bit of a cluster**** as far as voting and options are concerned.:(

Really? Tbf it's been a while and I don't remember us doing it and if we did then it ended up being inconclusive if what I do remember of the previous turns is what actualy happened, eitherway I'll edit it just to be sure.

-[X]The Bow Dispute: The Hunters and the Corbray's are arguing about Broken Bow pass again, and they have requested that you hear their case, and decide on the issue. Reward: 1D100 => 36+70=106

The Dispute wasn't even a dispute.

Apparently there was some old paperwork that both claimed gave them dominion of the Broken Bow pass.

This legal paperwork happened to be from over six hundred years ago, with the entire paper illegible, making the whole thing up for debate and law.

So, instead of picking a side, you just forged a new legal document and made it satisfactory to both parties.

Somehow it worked, and both houses got what they wanted, but just splitting the travel tariff revenue for the next ten years.

Reward: You settled the dispute without drawing any blood.
here it is

calling the vote: Plan hold onto your butts wins.

Sorry about all the confusion that this turn has created.

A New Vale: A Beginning and an End
A New Vale: A Beginning and an End

-[X]Partake in the Council meetings: You are going to partake in your council meetings, as is your duty as lord. Rolled:1D100 => 85+50=135

The council was a group of wise men, whom your father had trusted with his fortune and his livelihood.

And the men themselves were honest enough, at least for your capabilities.

The Vale, had seen many an issue, too minor for you to really worry about, at least in their eyes. You were disappointed when they were not brought to your attention, but the records they kept were… quite through. You ecevuted the Castellion and replaced him with Marq, who was excited to be in a position of authority.

And you finally got down to the business of reading every record they had.

The Castellion had been stealing money from you. Quite a bit of money in fact. Money that should have been invested back into the Vale.

You got the money back of course… now to invest it.

Reward: Your finances will be more accurate when you balance the books.

-[X]The Adventures of Daemon The Rogue Prince Part 1: You began to read the Journal. And were surprised to see it was of Daemon the Rogue Prince, after the Dance of Dragons. Rolled:1D100 => 7+20=27

The Book was in code, and you didn't have time to crack it due to your duties.

Failure.

-[X]Balance The Books: Your father has always been a dutiful record keeper… however, now that you are in charge, you must be prepared to… fix any discrepancies. And end the wasteful spending. Rolled:1D100 => 82+100=182

Here are the Vale's Fiances.

Economy:

Reserves 38,343,153 Golden Dragons

(20 million repatriated from the scheme with the castelion)

Annual Income (Last Year in Gold Dragons): 21,442,040 Golden Dragons.

Income Breakdown:

7,000,000: From Dominion Holdings and Vassal Taxes

13,000,000: From Trade Taxes and Tariffs

1,420,040: Interest and tolls for the Mountain Road.

20,000 Mountian Clan Gift.

Annual Expenditure:12,257,923 Golden Dragons

Expenditure Breakdown:

Maintenance on Castles and Fortresses: 5,000,000

Wages to Staff and other payoffs: 500,000

Gifts to Lord's: 250,000

Equipment maintenance and procuring: 1,000,000

Crown Taxes: 1,500,000

Fleet Maintenance: 1,000,000

Other Expenditures (Road Maintenance, patrol costs, Imports, and other constructions):3,327,923

-[X]Drill the Garrison: The garrison must in top shape for raids, defending, and maintaining discipline. Rolled:1D100 => 26+30=66

The Garrison was drilled and drilled well by Ser Brynden.

Reward: The Garrison gains a +20 to all rolls when defending.

-[X]Gather A Stockpile of Weapons: The Eyrie does not have a peacetime stockpile of weapons, having been exhausted during the Brotherhood war. You will need to replace it. Rolled:1D100 => 78

You bought quite a few weapons for the garrison, and high-quality ones at that.

Reward: If you go to war, you will not begin with under equippted modifyer.

-[X]Build a Retinue: You want to create a retinue of sorts, to assist you in your duties and in your travels around the Vale. (Note, this will Generate a Random Retinue of Locals from Around the Eyrie, you will not be able to build it yourself via events from other actions, or from keeping.) Rolled:1D100 => 1+40=41

Once again, your lack of time management made you rather… forgetful of certian things, like your retinue.

Failure.

-[X]The Census of the Vale: It has been nearly Three Years now since the Men of the Vale have gone to war… and it seems your father forgot to send out a census when he returned home. By the Seven, did he forget it on purpose, or did he believe little changed in the year you were gone at War. Rolled:1D100 => 97+50=147

The Vales population was over twenty million souls, now including the mountain clans. Many of the families experience quite a few births thanks to returning soldiers.

And the mountain Clans… now that there was finally peace, and prosperity among them and the Valemen… they grew as well.

Reward: The Vales population is even larger than before in it's recorded history. The taxes will be adjusted accordingly to see that.

-[X]The Crown For a King: Aerys has heard of you being crowned king… and wishes to remind you that you are not a principality… your crown belongs to him. You need to come to king's landing and repledge your fealty… NOW. Rolled:1D100 => 69+50=119

The News reached you before you reached Kings Landing.

Something Terrible had happened.

(Continued in The Region Report)

AN: The Region Report is going to be dozy.

Nah our stepmom being the utter bitch and spread lies that we were about to rebel against the King

Or DRAGONS just came back and roasted half of Kingslanding

Awww dang, I hate being correct sometimes.
Try something more... deadly and through then a wildfire explosion.
I honestly can't conceptualize something worse, save maybe a mass assassination of all the nobles residing in King's Landing. Bravo, you're probably going to catch everyone off guard next post. And if Aerys survives he's probably going the way of cannon in his mind state.

Region Report Post War 5
Region Report Post War 5:

The Vale:1D100 => 90

The Vale… for the first time in six thousand years, is at peace. It's people… quite literally living together in harmony.

And with the peace, comes prosperity. Prosperity, wealth.

With Wealth… the Rise of a nation, in many ways can begin.

Reward: The Vale will see a boom in income for the remainder of Jon Arryn's life, and a population boom for the remainder of yours.

Blood feuds are now impossible to form barring very special circumstances.

The City of Fingerton will be completed in 5 years… A Generation ahead of schedule, thanks to the post-war economic miracle.

The Riverlands:1D100 => 41

Absolutely nothing of note happened. At all. They are making more money, but everyone is.

Reward: Status Quo

The Westerlands:1D100 => 100

The Raynes and Tarbacks… are defeated. Their rebellion, what little actually rose in defiance of Tywin Lannister, were crushed, and all took shelter in the hollowed mines of The Reyne and Tarback's.

Rober and Roger, the two sons, Rober the Red Lion requested Tywin to show no mercy upon their family and allies, but show retribution for daring to raise up arms against a man who was about to forgive half the debts they owed because of their loyalty.

Tywin obliged… diverting the flow of a river… and drowning them all, for none were innocent… and all were guilty.

Roger requested that Rober take the reins of House Rayne, and he would do as he wished to him, if his loyalty was lacking.

Tywin than granted him the Lordship of Tarback Hall, and forgiving both debts to their castles and lands.

Reward: The Raynes of Castamere and Tarbacks of Tarback Hall are extinct, save for the two loyal sons, Roger and Rober. Both have been rewarded keeps of their own for their loyalty.

None in the Westerlands will dare rise up against him for the remainder of Tywin's life.

The North:1D100 => 97

Rickard Stark announced the birth of a second son. Eddard/

And he has told White Harbor to gather lumber at the White Knife… There were ships needing to be built.

Reward: Eddard Stark is born.

The North is now building a navy to secure their interests in Westeros and Abroad.

The Reach:1D100 => 68

The Reach recovered from the Blight, and with it, the economic engine of Westeros kept on churning along, with little stopping it.

Reward: The Reach has recovered from it's famine and bad harvest.

The Stormlands:1D100 => 54

Steffon announced the birth of a daughter: Joanna.

The Stormlord's have also begun fortifications of their island in the Stepstones.

Reward: Steffon has a daughter. BloodStone is being fortified again.

The Iron Isles:1D100 => 67

The Ironborn have reaved Braavos, for the perceived slight against than, sacking many coastal villages.

Reward: The Ironborn are being the Ironborn against the Braavosi.

Dorne:1D100 => 59

Dorne has returned from its expedition to Tyrosh and the Disputed Lands, with loot and favors from all the other Free cities.

Reward: Dorne returns victorious, with several hundred boatloads of returned and stolen loot. The burning of Sunspear has been avenged.

???:1D100 => 95

"I can't believe it actually worked."

"Of course it worked. A city that size, so dense with people… of course, it would reach the Red Keep."

"And the fallout of this event?"

"It matters not who sits on the Iron Throne...only if their presence shatters the realm so that... our plans can continue unabatied."

The Crownlands:1D100 => 1

The Spring fever has hit King's Landing. It is killing everyone it infects. The city of a million is now closer to a village of ten thousand.

Survival Rolls For the King and his court:

Aerys:1D100 => 4

The King is dead.

Joanna:1D100 => 41

Along with his lady wife.

Aegon:1D100 => 29

As is his son. Both died to the sickness.

Visanya:1D100 => 17

And his daughter.

Jon:1D100 => 90

Jon Arryn was gripped by the fever for several days, but the gods saw fit to let him live.

Rowena:1D100 => 3

Rowena passed in the night, praying to the seven for forgiveness, and mercy for herself and her child.

Alsander:1D100 => 80

The gods, however, had some mercy in this wretched time. Alsander survived the sickness, almost as if it was a miracle that he had.

The King's Guard:1D100 => 63

The King's guard, ever loyal, stayed by their master's side. All had survived, barely.

Other Council Members:1D100 => 12

All the council, save Jon, died. The sickness taking them in their sleep or as they worked.

The High Septon:1D100 => 10

The High Septon is dead… another must be chosen by the Faithful.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Reward: Kings Landing has been destroyed by the Spring Sickness, the city nearly a ghost town after so many had died.

The King and his Heirs are dead. The Iron Throne is Vacant until another can be crowned.

A Great Council has been Called by Lord Arryn.

It was time to secure the succession, and prevent a civil war.

AN: No Nights Watch This Report, but they have their reasons to not be here, what will all the chaos happening south of the Wall.

Wow... someone imported the Spring Sickness.
I think we should start by calling the banners, slowly, just in case something happens; after all the heir to the throne is now our wife.

Yes, yes it did.

Nope, not yet, because there has been a great council called by Jon, because holy shit, everything is a bit chaotic at the very moment, we need to make sure everything is secured.
I mean I know, but I also know that the two main claimants are Steffon and Rhaella, and I know who we're going to support personally.
Sucks for stepmom, even if she hated us, dad was happy. But at least dad and little bro is okay.

Well, hopefully, Steffon isn't up to starting civil wars. or listening to people who say they should start civil wars. Cause that might happen.

Why do that when you have a solid chance at winning through democracy? Quite frankly if not for our wicked diplomatic skill he would be a shoe it due to the misogyny rife within Westeros, "can't expect a woman to rule after all".
I still want to know who the heck are these guys pulling the strings because I swear to the seven if I find out it was the bravosi, we'll make them wish Valyria had found them all those years back, even if we have to invent guns and cannons to do it.
