As An Eagle Flies (A House Arryn Quest)

well... oke then...
looks like i`m going to saving some money again because who knows how many dlc this one going to get.

still would like to some game play before i invest any real form of cash into it.

Well, at this rate, maybe we'll have to start using "Ck3" as the tag, instead of 2.

Though, ck2 is amazing and I love and probably won't stop playing it anyways. Paradox did a good job with it. HoI4 and I:R become too boring without mods/cheating every game eventually, but I still can start a new ironman/vanilla playthrough in ck2 and wind up with the weirdest, and most hilarious histories. Character, family, country, and world, for that matter.

They needed something considered their recent fumbles with their Stellaris mobile bullshit. But considering that characters will start acting as characters, making decisions based on an actual character archetype? Things are going to be complicated indeed.

That trailer, though, actually has me grinning... if only because I had one of my kids go full Child of Destiny lately. The snake is going to get itself strangled and the assassin butchered two seconds after the video ends.

Well I think that's enough talking about CK3 guys... if only because I need to start thorizing, and get prepared for my next run.

Hopefully, we've got a fall of Rome start date... cause that shit will be fun!

I'll admit, I haven't kept up with Stellaris. Ever since the megacorp update, it hasn't been the same. I also grinned at the snake - not in the least for every time your character foils an assassination like that.

But anyways, I hope we manage to prove ourselves well with Arstan. I, too, worry our martial shall not increase through training. However! That just means it must increase through experience instead! And how fortunate are we, then, that we are in the middle of a war! (And can now control a vessel in a naval battle (everyone thought I was joking, but I now they can see! See that I was right to tote our to-be naval prowess! Mwahaha!))

Ah yes...become the man you want to be.

@Magoose Btw, I have to apologise I thought I'd be finished with the omake by now but to be entirely honest I co.pletly forgot about it with due to the recent strategy vote and work irl.

But since I have you here I meant to ask, in this timeline we have right now do the Iron Born still have some splinter groups that are more focused on pirating then coming to join the war?

Yes. there are a few, but Quillon has put the boot down a few times.

while the reach isn`t really build for it in anyway having us have a bit more of a interest for say ship based things might not be the worst thing ever.

Only problem with that is the Vale isn't really ideal for a naval based power. We only have 2-3 proper ports and even then the land itself isn't able to support a big fleet without trade import of wood and food. And we dont have our infrastructure build up enough to be able to afford to buy Northern wood for ship building and maintenance and also the Reach's food for supplies. Also we don't have enough experienced officers and captain's to man our ships I think. Through that could be done I time.

Actually the Fingers have a lot of natural harbors that can be used for navel defenses or navel ports. Remember they were used as the landing zone for the Andels when they first came across the narrow sea.
Born do we have enough experienced seaman to man our ships I think.
We actually have a lot of sailors in the ports. enough to start a navel corps.

thank you for restating in longer format what i just said!

Actually, that's my grandmother's name. sorry been reading her memoirs for a family thing and it was the first name that I thought of when naming.
That just increased my desire to name our kid that.
Aurelian doesn't sound 'Westerosi' enough, how about Aurelion(Keeping to the Targaryen beaming tradition) or Aurelius for a more masculine sounding name.
Those would work too.
Announcement Trailer dropped earlier today:

Huh, neat. Never played any CK2 but I have seen plenty of playthroughs and my favourite would be The Phantom of the Jews.

1. Well yeah but as far as I know there aren't any naval bases already built there so I meant that right now it we aren't in a position to begin building a big ass navy.

2. Oh sorry about that then, might be I misunderstood what you said. Am already tipsy at this point so I might have just skimmed over it and read it wrong :p

[x]Go with Ser Gerold: Ser Gerold is prepared for an assault on the harbor and is asking for volunteers. And he would get several: Uncle Yohn, Lord's Holland and Darklyn, and even Ser Barrisitan the Bold.

I would wager that the "off" feeling is because the pirates seem prepared even though we avoided their scouts. Either the pirates are tactical geniuses that somehow foresaw our plan or we have a spy in our midst.

Canon omake: The Titan's Gaze by Silveraith
The Titan's Gaze:

(Tormo's POV)

The ship shook one last time as it docked into the port of Gulltown. All around him people were yelling out orders, selling fish and wares, or or some other such duty to ensure they would have food in their belly tonight and many nights to come. It was how life was for everyone who wanted to ensure that they could provide for themselves or their loved ones. For him, it was much the same. It'd been years since he'd been back in this city but it wasn't with some amount of sorrow and trepidation that he was here now. A month prior he'd gotten word that Lords Arryn and Corbray had called the banners, that the King had called for war against the East and Blackfyre pretenders. His honour and duty as a loyal vassal demanded he participate; and thus, here he was.

The latest war in almost thirty years, a generation. Longer then he'd been alive.

"Milord?"

The voice snapped him out of his thoughts as his head turned to the speaker and the men around him. "What was that Phrank?

"Orders milord?" Phrank said with an awkward smile of crooked teeth. He was a good lad, a good squire, decent with a blade but not a looker. He'd be knighted in a few years if the gods were willing.

He nodded. "Right, right, of course." He looked at the Bryen and wisps of grey hair and the other three men, this was all he could bring, all the men he could raise. He was a lord, his father blessed with land and a castle by King Aerys I, but he was not a wealthy lord like those of Houses Waxley or Redfort who could call forth hundreds or thousands. One day, but not today. "Phrank, you and I will head out to rent a room or two for us at an inn; Bryen, the rest of you unload our belongs onto the deck and guard them until I return."

A few words of acknowledgement and they were off, while Phrank followed him like a shadow. They made their way through the crowds as quickly as they could, his hand close to his sword and his purse encase of thieves. Every once and awhile he'd look back to make sure Phrank kept up with him. The boy had never been surrounded by this many people or new sights before and he could see the wonder in his eyes as he tried to take everything in and keep up.

"Clear the streets! Clear the streets, your Lord is coming through!" A knight, several knights in fact, covered from head to toe in finely crafted castle forged steel were yelling out to all of the people to move aside. He grabbed Phrank to pull him back to the side of the road as the knights walked through, some on horseback.

Behind them a caravan of dozens, possibly a hundred men, all dressed the same in their armour followed through as well. In the centre of it all was clearly the figure they all protected. The man was dressed in highly polished steel plate, and in the light there was a blue tint to the metal that made him look like a figure from legends. He looked down at Phrank to see the boy had a face of pure wonder as he took it all in. The suit was highlighted with silver, and its rondels sparkled in the afternoon sun.

House Arryn of the Eyrie.

Behind the man were two other men, no, one man and a boy. The first was dressed from head to toe in white with his white cape flapping in the wind while the second was dressed much like the first man in blue armour. His helmet was off and on his young face was a smile that had certainly made many maidens smile before losing their maidenheads. The boy waved at the crowd of people as they rode past. The people waved and cheered back. As quickly as they'd come they were gone, headed to the Grafton seat.

The smile was still on Phranks face. "Amazing."

"Not really, just money and power." The young squire pouted but didn't say much else as they continued on their way. They'd be going to war, any of them could die. He and his men, they'd fight together and hope for the best but anything could happen. His family line could die out... No he would not allow that to happen. He'd do his best to prevent it, just as the men loyal to him would do the same.

"House Bealish will not die."

And you are rewarded with a +10 roll bonus.

Though The Balish Family have not been landed yet, they are only in the employ of House Arryn as a high ranking Mercenary's serving as Lord Arryn's bodyguard.

Oh, thank you for the bonus roll.

The wikia made me think differently with Petyr's grandfather being a sellsword, his grandfather a hedge knight before being a landed knight, his father a minor lord and Petyr being the best of the bunch.

House Baelish

House Baelish is a noble house from the Vale. Their seat is an unnamed, old flint tower, which commands no more than a few stony acres on the smallest of the Fingers. House Baelish's smallfolk consists of a village of a dozen families in huts of piled stone beside a peat bog.[1][2]

I'm just under the assumption that the ninepenny wars were the thing that got the Balish's their lands.

I'm talking about right before, like the moment we get back they could get a lordship.

Ah, that would make a level of sense. And for right now have them be Landed Knights. I can go back and change the Omake with your permission.
