As An Eagle Flies (A House Arryn Quest)

Wait Steffon is pissed at us for what?
He's rationalizing that if we were there helping him out, his father would still be alive, not taking into account that the only reason he did die was from wounds he had suffered from long before we even arrived to even help him out.
Honestly, regardless of rolls or logic I'm expecting Steffon to be pissed that our dad survived while his didn't. It makes sense emotionally. I also wouldn't be surprised if the anger has some elements of self blame in that Steffon is upset he failed while we, who've never seemed to be a great figher, succeeded while he didn't.

Also this is why you Diplo guys, friends are the truest force multiplier :p. Also have magical family connnections I suppose.
Partially correct. He's emotionally reacting to a situation and not coping with the loss of his dad very well and like anyone going through grief, he's lashing out and going through the five stages like a normal person.

He is blaming himself, more then he blames us. He just vocalizes his blame at us far more due to us being understanding and knowing what he is saying is true or not.

And get this, almost everything he says to us is just him trying to get to the point where he accepts that it isn't anyones fault but Mayles, and he's dead.
Come to think of it, @Magoose what's Tywin been doing when all this drama was happening?
Tywin actually helped out Steffon, and is the one who kept him covered when Steffon broke down seeing his father killed.

Aerys and he both kept Steffon safe as he carried his father's six hundred pounds of armor and body back to friendly lines before Steffon went all ours is the fury and killed a hundred men.

We and our friends gonna make Steffon actually stop blaming us for stuff again? Steffon really likes to blame us for stuff for some reason. Some people got to be tired of it at some point. The only reason I see them not being angry is that Steffons father died. More annoyed than anything.

I just said that he was more venting his frustrations at us more then blaming us for anything involving his father's death. I missaid my earlier statement involving blame.

He really blames himself more then anything and not being fast enough to reach his dad.

And we can take a metric fuckton of abuse before we take anything personally. Its one of our more defining traits.

Our father... christ. He'll have a rough time even serving on the King's Small Council with those wounds.

I'd imagine Jon Arryn serving as Lord of the Vale with Arstan as a viceroy equivalent. Not only does the heir to the Eyrie get exposure, this also solves the whole semi-invalid situation Jon has.

Ha that's fair. Though it's still an opportunity for Arstan to make a name as heir. He's made a name as one of the killers of Maelys, but there's more to ruling one of the Seven Kingdoms than combat.

Though given how long Jon lived IOTL Arstan may well be an old man by the time he succeeds.

Would others realize that though? Our friends realize that? Even then it's kinda insulting to us to just shout at us and blame us. Like he causing more problems from just doing that. Like it got to be annoying to our friends that Steffon always does stuff like this to us.

Edit: Like I know he really doesn't blame us but he really making it like he does is the problem. We are understanding but others? Not so much.

What said anything about him serving the Small council?

Or anyone from our court for that matter. Everyone is going home.
Right now, the realm really needs our father. The royal line is whittled down to the point a couple accidents could leave OUR future child on the throne. They are going to need someone sharp as a vorpal blade. And the rest of the realm is equally volatile.
...
Though, dammit, SOME idiot is going to try to make that happen. Lets try our hardest not to let it?

Everyone is bitching about Steffon (for good reason though) while I'm thinking about our Waifu who is...learning from the best to perform her Marital Duties to the best of her ability when we return home (next turn). It's as they say: Work Hard, Play Hard.
Besides this though...when are we even going to Lv. Up our Falcon Magic? Can we learn Falcon Punch @Magoose?

Well, considering how Fertile Aerys and Rhaella were with the incest, without the incest going on, we might see a whole lot more little dragons running around the entire realm... but also the bigger chance to see... more problems when succession rolls around.

Considering that you have a +50 to the pregnancy rolls due to her... training. I suspect that we are in for a very fruitful marriage, with lots of kids.

Jon will live to see grandchildren, something I think he really wanted ITTL and OTL.

Sorry mate, but bird magic is not on the table.
We lack the necessary bartending skill to brew falcon punch. Admittedly, it would make us the life of parties.
Or the death of them, considering how much people will drink.

Damm. I hope we only have 3.

A shame.

We had better make sure we have some of the best physician types you can get by hook or crook. Be they maesters wearing a pound of silver links, a woods witch who has stood beside a different birth every two weeks for fifty years, or whatever. Its a damn good thing to throw money at. But at least we can probably manage a lower stress environment than canon.

I see nothing wrong with a large-ish family. We will have no shortage of places a second, third or fourth son would prosper. Or daughters, for that matter. One part of our personality is that, to us, people are not placeholders. We'll see what their talents and wants are and respond appropriately.

Heh. I wonder if one of our children will one day find Sheepstealer, or its potential clutch.

Sheepstealer, or its potential clutch.
... Oh... that... Hmmm... That's something I cannot say, only that Neddle did not, in fact, fly to the east towards Valyria.

She stayed in Westeros. Where she stayed, I don't know.

Also, I'm of the opinion that Daemon the Rouge Prince, did, in fact, survive his tumble into the god's eye, and was rescued and nursed back to health by Neddle after the war was over.

The maesters had a theory that they ended up in the Mountains of the Moon, not too far off from our home. Thus inspiring the Burned Men, who understandably were slightly warped by dealing with a woman who rode out of the heavens upon the back of a burning god. Her and Sheepstealer were recorded in those mountains, that we know, and even killed sixteen men who made the mistake of cornering them.

We just don't know where the dragon STOPPED.

Okay...

Well if we decide to go hunting for the Burned men, we can always ask politely.

Probably with a steel gauntlet to somebody's teeth. Which actually seems like a good diplomatic overture? Kick the ass of whoever spits on your shoes, then break out a few good kegs of beer for whoever has the balls to stick around.

So a To-Do List is in order I suppose.

  • Get Home
  • Have Bebbehs
  • Invest some of our money into infrastructure or business both inside and outside the Vale
  • Study as much of the magical Runes and other magic as possible, not openly of course.
  • Found a Knightly Order
  • Deal with the Mountain Tribesmen problem.
  • Find Dragon(?)
  • Increase the population of the Vale (?)
  • Profit.

You forgot one:
• More Bebbehs.
